Our tables overlook the waters of the Connecticut River where the fresh river meets the salt of the sound. It’s a treasured and historic spot. In nature the most vibrant life happens where systems meet. These places are rich in life, and our restaurant reflects that lively diversity. We have a raw bar, a seasonally varied menu, and offer as much as we can from the farms, brewers, cheese makes and other food enterprises that are springing up around our region.

"Our experience was very pleasant. We had an excellent, quiet table by the window. Our server (i think her name was nancy) was fantastic! They had my favorite French varietal on the wine list. We had oysters which were very fresh. Our mussels appetizer was fantastic. The tuna tartar was also good, but nothing compared to the mussels. I had the fluke for an entree and it was just OK. It was a confused dish, with lima beans, peas, asparagus, gnocci and clams. the fish was mushy. The CT lobster roll was good, but nothing special. The chocolate cake was just OK as well. Overall, I would go there again, and order something different."

"I have eaten at Fresh Salt before and it's always been fantastic. However Mother's Day was, well.. rough.
Our Breakfast Reservation was for 9:30 and we were seated promptly.. Our Waitress took a long time to get to us and we finally ordered our food @ 9:45..
@ 10:20, still no food.. finally 2 plates came out (we were a party of 7, with 2 Kids) then 3-4 minutes later 2 more plates came out.
finally @ 10:30 I got my meal.
My Wife asked for ketchup and that was a 5 minute wait..
I don't know if it was the kitchen, the server or both.. All I know is, they have trays.. why not use them instead of 1 plate in each hand.
The Waitress was in fact clueless, made no apologies for the delay. Moved at a snails pace and walked like she was site seeing."

"We had not been here before, but the location sounded great and the reviews were very positive. It turned out to be a great choice. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu, eager to help but not being bothersome. I had a swordfish chop, which I had never seen before, that was outstanding in its presentation and taste. My wife's veal chop was also excellent. New England clam chowder and a salad were great starters for the meal, and the gelato was a fine finish. The only thing that could have been better was a little nicer day to be able to sit outside, but that's a good reason to return."

"Finally, a restaurant with food as wonderful as it's scenic views. So many restaurants on the water trade almost exclusively on their location with the food quality as a distant afterthought. Fresh Salt located right at the mouth of the Connecticut River offers gorgeous views with a lively, seasonal menu. The food quality is first-rate. The menu clearly shows the chef's vision for fresh seasonal, local food and each dish is executed and presented beautifully. Come for lunch or an early dinner - daylight hours - to appreciate the views!"

"Unfortunately, we left a few minutes after arriving. The menu for lunc was very limited, and being Good Friday, we were looking to order fish or nonmeat items. There were only a few choices. So, we left. Looking at the lunch prices and choices, I doubt we will return. We waited tp be seated for about ten minutes or so, and our waitress was not friendly or helpful."

"Fresh Salt is one of our favorite restaurants. We were disappointed to learn that they have taken the fresh oysters and cherrystones off their Sunday Brunch menu. They replaced them with a homemade crepe station. One of the reasons we chose the Fresh Salt Sunday Brucnch over Watersedge Brunch was because of the fresh seafood. Hopefully they will bring them back. I know they lowered the price for the brunch but we would gladly pay more to have the seafood back on the brunch menu."

"Our table was near the gas fireplace, also next to a window overlooking the Connecticut River and the marina. This made for a very relaxing and scenic evening. We both got steak ( filet and sirloin ) and the beef was great. We stopped by the bar for an after dinner cocktail and found the atmosphere to be very nice. It was a great way to end the evening."

"Came here on a Girlfriends' Getaway overnight. The service was friendly, the restaurant was lovely and we had a cozy corner table (the weather was wet, raw and windy). We had delicious meals and were able to have the bottle of wine that came with the Getaway package served with our dinner--- very accommodating! We shared a salad that was beautifully divided in the kitchen and it was delicious as well as pretty. The food was all delicious and arrived hot. The service was relaxed but attentive, making it a wonderful Getaway meal!"

"Although a little pricey, my wife and I really liked Fresh Salt.
My wife commented how good the raw bar was - particularly the oysters.
For the main course, I had the cod special which was excellent (and just how the server said it was), while my wife had chicken, which she liked.
We shared the brussel sprouts side, which was pretty good."
