"This was my wife's first visit to the L.A. area and after taking her to some of the finest that West Hollywood/Beverly Hills had to offer we landed at the Sumset Marquis on Friday.
This place is our favorite - HANDS DOWN!
Being in the music business, the last place I wanted to be was dinner at a "Rock n Roll Hotel" during my brief 4 day vacation.
But the very tranquil atmosphere in the middle of the West Hollywood craziness, coupled with the perfectly created and presented Chilean sea bass and beautiful patio dining experience was just what the doctor ordered.
The place was so intimate that the celebs on hand were obviously as relaxed and carefree as we were.
Don't miss out on this gem."

"One of my favorite places..
My only observation of critique would be that if the wait staff observes the patrons in a spirited story, don't stand there waiting to deliver the news of the specials..it breaks the flow and makes one feel hurried..(as with our waiter)

"We have patronized this restaurant many times over the past few years. The ambiance is absolutely wonderful, the service is always steady and good, but the food continues to be the weakest link here. Each time we come, someone in our party orders the filet mignon, some sort of seafood and a vegetarian dish. Last night, all three in our party agreed the filet mignon was just plain bad this time, whereas in the past it was just mediocre. The vegetarian lasagna was okay, but very bland - nothing exciting. The osters didn't taste fresh.
We can't understand why such a nice hotel and restaurant does't follow through with a great menu and cooking staff. It will be quite a while before we dip our toes in the water here for dinner."

"Spectacular dining experience in a fantasy locale! While the food was excellent, the most outstanding aspect of our wonderful dining experience was the service! Superior! "The food was excellent and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating. The only criticism I have is that it took a very long time for the waiter to take our orders and to serve each course--even though the restaurant was not full at that hour (6:30PM). We were not finished until close to 9:00.

"Went there for Valentines Day and they had a fixed price menu with very limited selection, which normally I do not care for, but the first and second courses and the entree were fantastic. They definitely know how to do seafood. The only reason I gave the food rating a "very good" instead of outstanding was because the desert was really bad. It was strawberries on strawberry ice cream on some kind of chocolate paste on top of a very burned pastry which I can't believe they let out of the kitchen. It was like a hockey puck. I looked around and noticed about half of them in the restaurant came out that way, which is really unfortunate since everything else was so great, but they left me going home with a bad taste in my mouth, literally."
