"Boyfriend's 27th birthday, indicated as such in open table reservation. Arrived early, but seated promptly. Waitress was friendly and attentive! She made my boyfriend feel special as soon as we sat down in a spacious (almost too spacious booth). Menu said Happy Birthday with the date, which we were able to take home. Portions are plentiful as they should be for the price. Birthday boy was given the option of a complimentary hot dessert made in house at conclusion of our appetizer (takes 30 minutes to prepare fresh). We got their version of the lava cake and vanilla ice cream--equally delicious. Steak was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend for a special occasion."

"This was an exception for Morton's. We had too much wait time between courses. We ordered the steak and seafood special, the lobster was very good, the filet was bland, the macaroni was dry. My wedge salad was fantastic. I orderd the Hot Chocolate Cake, which had no molten chocolate center. We orderd the dessert when we placed our order, we still had to wait an hour for it."

"We lovee the warm feel of this place - like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. "My husband and I went there for our 12 year anniversary and had a wonderful night! They even had special menus celebrating our anniversary made up for us when we arrived and a complimentary chocolate souffle and ice cream for dessert. Best steak - I had a 6 oz filet and my hubby had the cajun ribeye because they were out of the original ribeye. I gave them a 4 for food because I believe a steak house should have all steaks on the menu... and a 4 for ambience because we were seated by a prom table of about 15 high school students. They were fine - but not great ambience :-). I would definitley go back!"

"overall it was awesome...th eonly thing I was disappointed in was they did not put a "special note" in the menu as they said they would for our out of town friends from Buffalo. When I made the reservations they said asked if I wanted this and I said yes to say "Welcome Mary & Mike to Chalotte!" But they did not do this."

"We had reservations and were seated promptly. After taking our order, our server came back to tell us that they were "backed up in the kitchen". A fair warning, however we did not receive our food for over an hour and a half! When it finally arrived, my steak was extremely overdone, as well as my husband's rib eye. I ordered the combination with seafood and filet, and the plate was thrown together. We sent both steaks back. The second time, my filet was again overdone and had absolutely no taste! For a restaurant with this reputation this is unacceptable. We have eaten at this Morton's before as well as the one in Las Vegas, several years ago without a problem. They ultimately had to comp our meal but that doesn't solve the problem."

"Overall, a geat dining experience. Managers and staff were very courteous on our arrival and had a warm welcome for us. Our server had excellent knowledge of the menu and gave us some good advice on our selections. The pace of the night was great with courses coming at good intervals and kept things moving. Plenty of time to make decisions and then enjoy our food as we wished. The portions are big compared to other places and everything was delicious. No way I could finish it all even though I tried."

"I understood that I would be paying a premium price for premium food. However, the side items and drinks are over-priced. The entreee prices gave me the impression that I would be spending about $60-$70 or so for my meal, but I ended up with a bill that was over $90. And I only had one drink, and no dessert."

"You really can always count on Morton's no matter where you go. The food is fantastic. The steaks are as good as you've heard. Great wine list. Portions for sides are large (although too large for me). What made this trip to Morton's great was that it was the first time we took our teenage kids to a Morton's. They had a wonderful time and the wait staff was over the top with them. Turned a family dinner into a really fun time with great questions and answers for the kids."

"Excellent dinner. (Easter) We were one of two parties in the huge dining room. Had our private salon. Our inquiry regarding the source of the beef was a bit puzzling. Allen beef from Chicago cut by local butchers out of Atlanta. (?) The quality did not seem as good as we remembered. Is it really still prime grade?
The real issue was the hot meat put on a COLD plate. Obviously the steak quits cooking, but the eating process is mainly of cold to slightly warm steak. Unless one quickly eats their meat first. Other competitors serve the meat hot on a sizzling plate. Much better result.
Dessert was excellent. Shrimp alexander still maybe the best thing on the menu."

"This is by far the best restaurant I've been to in Charlotte all around. The service was phenomenal. The wait staff was genuinely congratulatory, friendly, extremely informative on the menu and wine list, and they never made you feel rushed or inconvenienced. All aspects of the meal were impeccably cooked and flavorful. The Apple Upside-Down cake was amazing and I am not normally a sweet fan so definitely consider this on your trip to Morton's. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in a heartbeat and plan on returning soon."

"I expect Service to be commensarate with the price and restaurant image. It was a great dissapointment. The restaurant was not busy at all there were three tables and a private party. We had to continually ask for things. Our server was not to be found and seemed focused on other things. For the price paid I feel Charlotte would have have many better options."

"Made the mistake of eating here during the CIAA tournament and traffic was horrible. I've eaten at a number of Morton's and this location was the worst one I've been to. Food was good but restaurant not easily accessible, we had to hunt for it. I had to Maine lobster and had to really work for it, meaning they didn't shell it. For the record, they did offer to shell it for me but I was concerned I would get less meat. Wife and daughter both had steaks and they said theirs were great."

"The food was not as good as I expected. My steak wasn't even sizzling when it came to the table. My appetizer crabcake and salad was actually better that the entree and side dish. The side dish, skillet potatos, were overcooked and not very apptizing."

"I haven't been to Morton's in a while, as i normally choose Ruth's Chris or Fleming's. The food was good, as was the service... it just didn't wow. It also seems a bit more expensive than their closest competitors. I'd go back, but I would sooner choose the others."

"I enjoyed everything about Morton's from the oysters both raw and Rockefeller to the lemon soufflé. It was birthday celebrations and not only did we enjoy a complimentary dessert but they also took a pic and printed it out for us. Ray was an outstanding server and this is coming from people who work in the service industry."

"I would say the best part of my experience was the service. I enjoyed my boyfriends fillet mignon over my ribeye, and I was extremely disappointed with the lobster bisque and the nasty burnt taste from the top of the cheesecake. We were really pleased with our main course."

"We had high expectations coming to Morton's. We were very disappointed by the lack of server knowledge and the quality of the food. We eat out 3 times a week and have dined at just about every steak house in Charlotte. The server was very nice and attentive but had no clue about scotch or bourbon. The steak was bland as well as the grilled asparagus. I can't comment on the atmosphere as there wasn't any."

"This experience was the absolute worst one we ever had at this restaurant starting with our reservation was for 8:30pm we didn't get seated until 9:10pm. We didn't get our menus until 15 minutes later. Placed our orders and sat there for way over an hour to never be served. We CANCELLED our order and left at 11pm. To make things even worst as we were walking out the restaurant we noticed other people who was seated after us eating dinner. None of the managers never came to our table to apologize or anything. I would never recommend this restaurant for Valentine's day to anyone or maybe another special occasion at all."

"We arrived 5 min. Before our reservation and had to wait till 20 min, for our table. We requested a booth, didn't get it. They said we have 380 reservations tonight, when we asked why we didn't get in at 7 or get a booth. That wasn't my problem. Service was slow and they put us in some back room. We been to alot of Morton's, this one was mismanaged & disappointing. We come to Charlotte twice a year, I don't think we will be back to this Morton's ."
