"Sunday evening, I took a friend to dinner for her first visit to Chicago. The place was perfect. The nose level was good for conversation, service was friendly and prompt, and the food choices were not your typical sports bar food. I will caveat that the place was not very crowded since it was a Sunday evening. The plus was they were playing the white Sox game on several of the TV's, which my boyfriend enjoyed. We were the last people to leave, but the staff didn't rush us out the door. I would definitely recommend this place to others."

"We went to Market on a Friday night for dinner and to watch the Bulls game. It was packed by the time the game started; we didn't have to wait to be seated since we had a reservation. By the first quarter, the bar was really loud. Great if you are there to just watch the game, too loud if you want to talk during commercials or half time.

Definitely recommend the burgers--the bison burger was really juicy and the truffle fries were fantastic! The mac-and-cheese appetizer was too filling and not very flavorful. Probably better as a winter app."

"Market is a great place to meet up for drinks and snack on some appetizers. But when it comes to the menu and the food, it's average at best. I've come here a few times and have been disappointed with the quality. It's really glorified bar food. Burgers are nothing special, actually pretty dry and overdone. Appetizers are average at best.

I like Market to hang out and as a late night spot, but I'd turn to somewhere else on Randolph to get a full stomach."

"No vegan options (I don't count pasta and plain red sauce). Otherwise they do a great job accommodating all the fans looking for a great meal before going to the United Center. A decent and reasonably priced beer selection rounded out a great meal. I recommend the fish tacos if you like spice. I was surprised to find they offer a free shuttle to the United Center too!"

"The staff was awful and unfriendly. I was there for 40 minutes without being served and then the waitress denied my group of taking a photo after she had neglected us all evening. The females were dressed inappropriately as well. I felt tense and uncomfortable from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. It is unfortunate, because the space is so beautiful, but I will never go back and advise my friends not to either."

"The waitress was extremely aggressive in getting us out the door, when we had only been there for an hour. Also, after ordering a pitcher of margaritas, she also took the rest of the pitcher back with her after pouring us drinks (rather than leaving the rest of the pitcher on the table since we ordered a whole one.) The busboys also asked up multiple times if we were finished with our meals, even though half the time we each had a fork in our hands while being asked (and sometimes mid-bite)."

"We attended Market for our quarterly gathering of highschool friends. It was during one of the first warm days of Spring. The patio was perfect! We had bottomless mimosas, which were fabulous. "most of the food was great, but the roasted chicken, which was not marketed as being overly spicy, was extremely HOT. My friend who ate some of it (then had to stop) was sweating profusely from the heat of the dish. It was just TOO HOT.

Salmon was delicious, as was everything else. And the tollhouse cookie sundae was a great finisher."

"The food is fantastic, although the appetizer portion sizes and prices are inconsistent. The hummus plate is a generous serving size for a small group and appropriately priced, but the empanadas, which cost the same as the hummus plate, are TINY! They need to be more consistent with giving value for the price. The drinks are exceptional and they certainly do not skimp on the alcohol! The service is hit and miss. The staff is very friendly, when you can get their attention. They need to be more present."

"Great girls night out spot! Great service, great food! We started the evening with drinks recommended by our awesome server Katlynn! My drink had peachy in the name! Yummy! We then tried three of the apps; the Mac and cheese muffins(we got these because Katlynn said its their signature item) and they were very good. We also got the popcorn shrimp which is a box of popcorn with crispy delicious shrimp on top and it came with two very tasty dipping sauces. Our last app was Market's chicken empanadas, my friends thought they were ok which I was happy about because I got to eat the last one! For our entree two of us got the stuffed burgers ( flavorful, juicy) and the other two got the Italian Beefs(huge and tasty)!"

"Market Restaurant and Sports Bar has changed from a year ago. Food items have changed to more of a bland choice selection. Drinks weren't as delicious and the restaurant was slow which of course causes the service staff to operate more slowly as well!
Mind boggling.

I would not recomment this place, nor will I return anytime soon!
They didn't even have CHICKEN BREASTS. They said they were all pre-cut!!!

"Stopped in before the Blackhawks game on 2/17. Due to Lenten dietary restrictions, we only had seafood items, but there was a nice variety and everything was delicious. The cocktails were great, wonderful game day specials. Our server was friendly, fun and efficient, without trying too hard. We took advantage of their free shuttle to the UC - nice and easy way to get there - clean bus. Highly recommend as a good place to dine and watch sports."

"After being loyal customers for over a year, my family was extremely disappointed with the quality of food and service. We always felt that the service could be better, but the last few visits were not positive. Disappearing waitresses, long food service wait times and very expensive. To top it off, they sat half my party in one section and the other half in a different section! We did not even know that our party was in the building. They also set my reservation as a no-show. We are not planning on returning."
