"Not often do I go out for dinner to a new spot and find that it is 100% representative of the reviews read. Everything was on point - service, food, atmosphere!
Will come again!"

"My wife and I visited NYC on the weekend and found the Red Eye to be a great place for dinner. The staff were well trained, professional and helpful. The overall quality was excellent and I would recommend the Red Eye to everyone."

"We were very fortunate to find the Redeye Grill so convenient to our hotel on W. 57th Street. Beautiful atmosphere with great piano playing in the background. The food was wonderful. Our table enjoyed the scallops and the braised short ribs. Excellent - absolutely melt in your mouth. A trio of sorbet was shared for dessert for a perfect ending to a fine meal. We will definitely return whenever possible!"

"This was my third time at Redeye Grill. As with my previous visit the food was delectable. The service was not as wonderful as it normally is. I am not sure what to attribute this to but for a terrific seafood meal, Redeye Grill is a sure deal."

"Everyone in our group ordered something different. I had surf turf kabobs which were great! Just right amount of food. Cooked perfectly. Shrimp are huge! Scallops had a really nice flavor - caramelized perfectly. Soft shell crab roll was a special. We shared it and all enjoyed it. Consistently fine food."

"We have eaten at Redeye Grill several times, and it seems each time the dining experience got better. The friendly warm greeting at the door, being seated cordially, an attentive waitstaff and, of course, an excellent meal all contributed to a wonderful dining experience. We highly recommend Redeye Grill to anyone wishing to have a an excellent meal in a warm and friendly atmosphere."

"Years ago, the Redeye Grill used to be a frequent haunt but became too expensive for my taste. I returned to try it once again this week and found it still quite competent and still too expensive. The setting is attractive - with adequate space, large windows and good light. The service is professional but lacking in warmth. The food is quite good but, at least with our orders, lacking any particular spark of drama or creativity. The bread was unexceptional; the butter was fresh.
This week I was one half of an older couple attending pre-theater so we were inclined to keep the meal light. We shared a half dozen oysters, ordered 2 entrees, shared a draft beer, a dessert and 2 coffees; the bill, with gratuity, was a tad over $130."

"Had a great meal at Redeye. Started off with Fried Calamri. It is done crispy, but not overcooked. So if you like it firm rather than rubbery, it is great here. The pan seared scallops were also delicious. They literally just melt in your mouth. Also, for one of the entrees we had Sushi. Picked the Spice Tuna (which was crispy and delicious) and Salmon roll. Thought I would be eating "light" with picking two Sushi Rolls. It was PLENTY. The wine seemed to be a bit high priced, so we just had a single glass each. Overall the value for the price was great. It is a convenient ;location at the Central Park end of 7th Avenue, away from all the crowded city streets of Time Square, although you can stroll down there after dinner."

"I have been going to Redeye for years, but not often enough. everytime i go, I am mad at myself, that I do not go enough. The food is always perfectly presented and taste just as wonderful. The brussels sprouts are probaly the best I have tasted. you wanted to lick the bowl. The blackberry cabarnet Sorbet is exquisite to finish off your meal. And you can never go wrong with the service. Gina was amazing and so accomodating. It was my friends birthday and i said it in passing when we were ordering and automatically put the sparkler candle in the sorbet we split without me requesting."

"Noise level too high. Used to schedule business lunches here often for their delicious cobb salad but this time the salad was very disappointing. The dressing was different (w/o being offered a choice), the mashed avocado was spicy, the chicken cubes didn't look like real meat. We ordered cappacino with skim milk and got decaf."

"The service was poor. Water and bread had to be requested three times. For a very average Cobb salad (with chicken, not with lobster), I thought that $27 was excessive for lunch. I have eaten here many times for lunch. I won't be back."

Overall this place was a hit. The wait staff was very attentive and were able to get a special entree made up for one of our party. The only down side is that it can get rather noisy and ask for a table "inside" if you dont like being on view for everyone walking on Sixth avenue."

"We enjoyed our lunch at Redeye Grill. My lobster Cobb salad was truly filled with lobster including two big, meaty claws. Erica, our waitress, was very friendly and was the best waitperson we encountered on this trip to NYC. It was our first visit to Redeye Grill and it won't be our last."

"Always a good food, service and atmosphere experience. However, prices have gotten harder to swallow. Our dinner, family of four, no alcohol...only water to drink, appetizer, entree and dessert...with tip was close to $400.00!"

"They've made some changes to the decor since I've last been there. Refurbished, added some music, spruced up the menus, etc. Its all to the good. The food is the same delicious food as always and the wine list, especially the California chardonnays, is wonderful."

"Disappointing. We have eaten here on several occasions, and there have always been some reliable choices on the menu. But something has changed. We were looking for a light supper, and ordered a spicy tuna roll from the sushi menu at $16. It arrived looking like six cupcakes, with a spicy cream cheesy kind of topping, finished off with a layer of frizzled onions! It was impossible to eat without use of knife and fork. And it was not sushi, by any definition. Another choice we tried was the crab meat salad with avocado. It was beautifully presented, but turned out to be about 90% avocado and 10% crab meat. Very good, but a bit pricey at $32. We probably won't return before our next Carnegie Hall event."

"We chose Redeye for its proximity to Carnegie hall and we were not disappointed. The wait staff was great. Throughout our meal we were offered fresh baked items from the kitchen and extremely friendly service. If I could mention one thing it would be that the food, although very good, could have had a bit more flavor. When i go to Carnegie again, I will go there. By the way, Order the "Crunchy Spicy Tuna" sushi roll..."

"We are from out of town and we were going to an event at Carnegie Hall and this restaurant was suggested as it is across the street. It was a wonderful restaurant. They bake their own bread and it is delicious. They also bring fresh baked chocolate chip cookies to the table, a nice touch.Steak mashed potatoes, california roll and brick chicken all great choices. Great Service too!"

"Had not been in years... kind of like I remembered. Food was so/so. Pretzel sticks were kind of dry... maybe a few hours too old. Appetizer was excellent - yellow tail I think we ordered. I had the lemon sole, which was good. Waiter brought over Chardonney instead of Sauvignon Blanc, which the manager switched out after he took over the tables in my section, since the waiter was visibily overwhelmed with a large party. Table next to me was complaining as well about the bad service. They just complained a lot louder than we did.
Food for thought - why do restaurants book large parties that they can't handle?"
