"The experience was exquisite as usual. We had the hangar steak special. The steak was fabulous. Didn't expect the spicy kick and not explained by the server that it was spicy. Would not have ordered it had I known it was very spicy. The sides were great. Have been there several times and have always enjoyed both the food and the service. Will just be more willing to ask questions about any of the specials. We already know the menu pretty well. The creme brulee was wonderfully creamy and decadent. We are planning on being there again this week. Great view when you look out to the Nashville skyline."

"We loved all the numerous dishes we ordered, plus the four appetizers we shared. It was nice to eat some very tasteful food that we cannot get at most other restaurants. We had reservations for 5pm, so we didn't have to wait at all. We also didn't have a problem with parking. However, we didn't notice that the parking lot was full by 5:30."

"Limited menu of good choices. Moderate prices. Fried green tomatoes for appetizer, tomatoes hard to taste but cornmeal coating very tasty. I had vegetarian (green) dish. Very good taste - portabellas overcooked but rest of ingredients very good. Wife had plum pork. Very nicely presented, a trifle salty for our taste. Wine list seemed good and had a full bar. Good parking - both valet and nearby lot. We had a window table with good view of capitol. Asked waitress to get us out by 6:30 to get to Opry and we were.able to make it"

"I had two of the appetizers, and I have convinced my guests that having a meat appetizer is not necessary. We tried the squash fritters and the quinoa with black beans appetizers and i nearly felt compelled to lick the plate. Oh, and the bread they bring out prior your meal is painfully delicious and eccentric. It almost felt as if I was in Germany or the U.K."

"We went there for Mother's Day celebration. I ordered the curry salmon, risotto and spinach. Normally my meal is delicious but on this day so so at best. My sides were cold and risotto was dry. I had 5 of my family members with me and two other plates were the same. My father ordered coffee. In his cream at the bottom was used sugar packets. I was sad to see they took off the lamb shank off the menu. Service was great. Overall experience so so."

"Always good, very nice management and service, the manager even charged my cell phone for me while we enjoyed our meal. The place was full of graduation parties, so more noisy than usual, but always great food. HIghly recommend the escargot."

"This experience at Germantown Cafe was not our best. We were a party of four, with a reservation, and the hostess had us wait at the bar for 20 minutes when there were tables open. Our server had a grating voice and seemed a bit clueless. She had our friend try the wine when her husband ordered it...just awkward. The food was fine, but not spectacular."

"We were in town for the Nashville Marathon and decided to try this spot based on yelp reviews. This is a great restaurant. We dined at several Nashville favorites this weekend but Germantown cafe out shined them all. The atmosphere was upscale casual and the view was great. The menu was was very nice yet simple and the food was outstanding! Our server Adam was a true pro. He knew the menu and knew how to pair the wines perfectly. This is must."

"Our recent experience at Germantown Cafe was quite disappointing in nearly all aspects. The food was far from notable: two of us ordered the Plum Pork (one of the signature entrees) and were not impressed. Also, one of our party took one look at the dessert served to her and refused it (it was supposed to be apple pie and ice cream; however it was served floating in a sea of butter and who-knows-what else without any discernible resemblance to apple pie). We also felt that we were being rushed through the meal by our server. Very disappointing overall and not recommended. Nashville simply has too many other good-to-great dining options."

"I was in Nashville for 3 days with my boyfriend who was deploying. Saturday nite was our last dinner together until he gets back in a year, and I wanted it to be extra special. I found Germantown Cafe online by googling "best restaurants" in Nashville, and decided to take my boyfriend there. I did make online reservations in advance in case they were busy. The restaurant's staff and the food at Germantown Cafe far surpassed any of my expectations. This restaurant is truly INCREDIBLE. The staff were so polite and attentive, and personally greeted us and seated us within minutes of arriving. Our waiter was fantastic & very knowledgable. We had the crab cakes which were phenomenal,as was dessert and our entrees. We will definitely be back!!"

"We came to the Germantown Cafe based on it's high rating on Tripadvisor. We were not dissapointed. The staff was friendly and professional, the food came in a reasonably quick time and was delicious. The menu was complete without being too big.
I ordered the special, a filet mignon with skin-on mashed potatoes and green beans (haricot verts). it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the roast pork and mixed vegetables and it was also cooked perfectly and had a lovely sauce that went well with the whole plate. The view is nice, but not spectacular. Pricing was fair for a fancy place. It was a very pleasant dining experience and we plan to go again in the future."

Not appetizing at all; couldn't eat the dessert. Very nice wine list. Service was OK - staff seemed very disengaged and was not very welcoming."

"We have loved Germantown Cafe in the past for the excellent food and the quiet, beautiful setting, but we were disappointed this time, taking out of town, very discerning guests.
