"I went here looking for some good sushi and was disappointed. The usual rolls and miso soup were fine, but everything else was lackluster. There are plenty of other sushi places in the city that I don't think I'll be going back."

"My family and I had a very good dining experience at Haru Gramercy. Our server was attentive and our courses were served in a timely manner. Wine and ambiance are a top priority for me and I wasn't disappointed. My chirashi was fresh and delicious. I like that Haru offers hot entrees also. I recommend Haru Gramercy."

"I came here for dinner last Thursday with a friend and we both agreed that we would be back for more. The special rolls were not only creative but filling. Delicious, young, fun, but sophisticated atmosphere"

"Looks nice from the outside but not so nice inside. Not sure why they have to give me the worst table by the exit door when other tables were available. Miso cod doesn't disappoint and I highly recommend the Chilean sea bass. Don't bother with the sashimi plates - not so fresh."

"The food was solid. Decently priced drinks. The servers were nice. Our hostess was nice enough to move us to another table after we said we were cold. Unfortunately, the food took so long especially the sashimi and sushi/sashimi platter, and the side of rice."

"They have pretty good stripe bass sushi and salmon skin roll. Salmon is pretty good as well. A bit disappointed with mackerel sushi tho, but all other things are good. I am happy with the service too and will definitely be back. Btw, they have sake hour from 3 to 7pm."

"Noise is the only distraction. It can get loud. Curtains and carpet would address. But the food is extremely good and the sake choices very good. The staff are nice, pleasant and thoughtful. They cannot be New Yorkers (grin). The food is fresh, generous and consistently good."

"Part of a chain. Have passed by forever. Gave it a try. Commercial but tasty. Service was very good and friendly without being annoying. Certainly a great place for lunch, happy hour, or dinner. The happy hour was a surprise as my reservation (not needed-brought to a table in Siberia, so opted to wait for my guest at the sushi bar, where we ate) was at 7. As a courtesy, the server gave us our drinks and three sushi selections at happy hour pricing. We ordered several more items, bringing up the bill, but not unreasonable for sushi in Manhattan."

"I like Haru a lot and overall my experience was very good. My only complaint was that when I came in (2:45 on a Tuesday -- empty except for a few customers) the hostess was engaged with a complicated call. This went on for a few minutes, during which time the several servers/ bartenders all noticed that I was standing there and actively did not offer to seat/ help me. This left the poor hostess and I in the awkward position of her having to pantomime apologies and continue to deal with the phone. Once I was actually seated, my server was helpful ingetting me in and out quickly as I was in a hurry."

"I have been to Haru a few times now, and it has been great each time. The restaurant has an active noise/music level and is a little dark, which lends it a bit of a club-like atmosphere, which may not be for everyone. But the food is great! We went for restaurant week this last time, and none of us had anything that we didn't like. The filet mignon entree was particularly juicy and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we tried the tempura cheesecake and banana spring rolls, and although both were excellent, the cheesecake really stood out. Would definitely go back!"

"I got the prixe fix for restaurant week. My appetizer tuna tacos were delicious (I just wasn't too sure about the taco shell itself tasted store bought), but my entree was shrimp and drunken noodles and they were delicious! To finish I had cheesecake tempura which I had never had before and would definitely order again! Being it's a sushi place and I didn't order any sushi, the sushi I saw people ordering around me looked good and I would go back to try it."

"My review is based on restaurant week menu. The food was good, descent portions and great services. I am also comparing the experience with other highend restaurants I have tried during the restaurant week and there are a lot of other restaurants I would prefer going to than this."

"First time I've been to Haru. We went for restaurant week and it was delicious. Portions were generous and the service was pleasant and attentive. We went to the Union Sq. location, and there is one in my neighborhood that I will certainly visit."
