"While service was good, there was nothing special. The staff seemed young and inexperienced. The food could of been played up more. When I ordered Creme Bruele for my desert, it came wit h nothing on it but the burnt sugar when I know fresh fruit is in season and would of made the desert Pop! This left us with feeling just a step up from Dennys. Think the owner should invest in a cook who want to WOW the crowd and hire staff that want to work harder for their tips"

"Our family went to Suede Blue for Mother's Day dinner and had an incredible experience. The asparagus appetizer was delicious, we all enjoyed our entrées (crab stuffed shrimp, king salmon, and 3 different orders of a chicken entre) as well as the Mud Pie for dessert. My Brother said the crab stuffed shrimp was the best meal he had ever had. We sat in the back room which was quiet and comfortable, the main dining room was more active and louder. As we left I did notice patrons dining on the patio, with candles on the table, and the weather was perfect at 7:30pm. The service was also great, and the manager came around twice to check on us and our meals. SB was a great pick and we'll definitely go back!"

"The ambience gave this restaurant a facade of finesse and luxury. nice place for small family dinners & romantic dates. Our server, Drew, was attentive & pleasing. But the food is diner quality. We ordered the lobster mac n cheese with only 2 small pieces of lobster-very bland. Our crab cakes could improve in visual appeal; somewhat salty. Even our salad was not up to par. Finally, our fillet mignon was ok for a steak but substandard in the world of filet mignons. Wine was the only good thing-house cab. We drove an hour a way to eat in this restaurant & was very disappointed that it prompted me to write my very first review. We have no problems with paying for good food but paying $89 for this meal was absolutely not worthwhile."

"This is one of my wife's favorite dining spots in the area. The food was prepared just as we ordered it and brought to the table nice and hot. The ambience was very nice and you could carry on a conversation without having to yell at the person across from you. Our food was good and the desert was tasty too. My only small complaint is the wine prices are a little over the top, $28 for two glasses. I would definitely recommend Suede Blue if you've never had the opportunity top have a nice meal."

"The food was exceptionally good and service was good. This was the old "Carver's" Restaurant from years ago. No changes to physical structure of the restaurant - just a different name. Only one thing I would suggest they change - we didn't get plates for our bread when the bread basket came. I don't like to butter my bread on the table. Otherwise, it was good and we will go back."

"Average value for a steak house. Some of the dishes were good, but some were only average. One can easily get similar quality at one of the less pricey steak houses and for a few dollars more can enjoy Ruth's Chris"

"We've been coming here since and before it was Suede Blue, but after last night's dinner, it will be the last time. We had an early dinner and the dining room was practically empty. We waited at our table until someone finally acknowledged us - with waiters going back and forth to the bar and to a banquet room they were setting up for an event for that evening.
While we were waiting for some service, we saw one table get up and leave without being acknowledged either.
I ordered the beet salad and thought I got the mixed green salad instead. One staff member noticed me forking thru my salad and brought me out some beets. Husband had the wedge salad that was okay.
The entrees were so disappointing. I ordered the crab stuffed shr"

"Overall a great meal, however, I have to say that the server we had had no idea if any of the menu items were suitable for a gluten free diet and took a VERY long time to try and obtain that information, definitly detracted from our dining experience!!"

"Suede Blue is basically "OK". It is not worth the premium prices. I had a $32 filet that was overcooked and somehow just bland tasting. Considering that the restaurant wasn't that busy on a weeknight, it seemed like there was a lot of traffic of servers and employees - maybe we were just not in a good location.THe bottom line is that if I want a steak for less I'll go to Outback or Tahoe Joe's or Cattlemans, and if I'm willing to pay these prices then I might as well go to Ruth's Chris. It seems that - when this restaurant was Carver's - it was a much better midpoint between those options."

"Great ambiance for a romantic date. Arrived at reservation time and was immediately seated. Server was friendly and attentive. The measure I use to grade waitstaff is how long it takes to replenish bread basket, refill beverages, and check for post -meal for desert and/or coffee. Suede Blue waitstaff gets a solid A for never leaving me wanting. I didn't order wine but based on the youthfulness of staff I'm not sure how good a sommelier they were. Food: my theory on visiting a restaurant for the first time is to order their namesake dish. I had the Suede Blue. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked to medium. But the lobster tail was blasé. I would recommend just sticking to steak for your order."

"First off we got the impression that we were being looked at as young and not a top priority because the all the other people in our section looked like they were better tippers?! Which was infuriating. We tip extremely well if the server deserves it. Then they were out of the appetizer we originally wanted. The appetizer we did order came out with the meal (which we sat and waited for for over 30min) our waitress didn't really pay any attention to us. The steak I ordered was great. The fish my fiancé ordered was dry and he took one bite and decided it was so bad he didn't want the rest. It literally took 30-45min to just get the check figured out. All we wanted to do was leave. Our valentines dinner was ruined."

"We waited for 10 minutes to check in only to find that there would be at least a 30 minute wait with no place to sit while we wait. The only reason given to us was the kitchen was behind. We ended up leaving as did many others. Worst experience we have ever encountered with a reservation. Not to mention the management was not even apologetic about the wait. In conclusion I would like to mention, I made this reservation in December so I would not have this problem."

"We made a reservation, but were told on arrival that it would be a 45 minute wait. This was annoying but hardly the worst part of the evening. Our service was awful. We didn't receive bread until we asked for it after we got our food already. When our food was delivered, we stated that we needed silverware but the runner did not bring any. It took about 2-3 minutes to finally have someone bring it. The food was amazing though. Loved every bite. Our server told us 3 times someone would be by with a box, before it finally happened. Other tables around us were clearly irritated as well. It looked to us that they were severely understaffed."

"Reservations were for 6:15. 7:45 rolls around and we are still 8th on the seating list. We complain to management, miraculously, we are instantly offered a table only to find out that there are multiple EMPTY tables all over the restaurant and yet they 2 hours behind! We sat down for 5 seconds, got up and left. NEVER going back!"

"This place is not conerned with it's customers at all. My valentine's day plans were ruined, because I decided to give this place a shot. I made a dinner reservation for 8:45pm, and by 9:20, was still waiting in the cold. When I asked what the problem was, I was told they were behind. However, I witnessed the problem first hand. They were taking and seating walk ins, and making those with reservations wait in the cold. I travelled from Davis, Ca to give this place a try and all I ended up with, was a messed up Valentine's Day! Think twice before going here, they are more concerned with getting as many people as they can in, while customer service is sacrificed."

"I knew Valentine's Day would be busy- and it was, but even more so than even the restaurant imagined. They could have used one or two more servers and the dining hall was packed -all reservations were running at least a half hour behind- we chose to eat in the bar, which, again, was understaffed. But once our server found us ( after telling a busboy we meant to eat there) service was good- she was busy but she did her best. The food was delicious and we want to return on a night when it won't be so crazy."

"Overall a good meal, Service was adequate but sporadic. Server seemed either new or overburdened. She was very nice, but forgot to mention the specials, did not offer soup/salad (had to ask after she left the table.) She pushed the Ahi Cone appitizer, which turned out to be just that chopped Ahi in a cone... no spices, not seasoning, no sause. I had swordfish which was very good, and my daughter had the filet minion which was a little on the dry side, but looked right. My wife had the Chicken Marsala.... not good.. the sause was watery and the chicken was dry. She compared it to airline food.
Like I said, overall a decent meal, but when you consider the prices, not worth it. If I want to drop $200 for 3 for dinner, I expect more."

"We went on a busy Saturday night. Shonda was our waitress. She was very busy. The entrees were not hot, just luke warm. The swordfish and halibut were undercooked. We debated on waiting to tell our waitress but she was nowhere to be found so we ate it anyway because we were hungry. This is the first time that this has happened. Seems like there is a problem ordering seafood at a steakhouse. The coffee was not hot either."

"Would really, really like to love this place! We could use another great restaurant to go to in Roseville. But everytime we try it, we end up with the same conclusion. Just a very average place to dine. Food is hit and miss, my steak was okay, but fish was overcooked. My cocktail (cosmo) tasted like water. Was extremely loud where we were sitting. Service was average at best. Slow and not very attentive for a place that was not very busy. Even on a Saturday night. Also, found an ant crawling on my menu!"

"Perfectly pleasant enough for a suburban alternative to chain's such as Outback. However, for the money Midtown Sacramento experiences such as Grange, Mulvaneys, Waterboy, Magpie, or Press Bistro offer significantly more refined service and creations - mainly driven by the immediate area's competition."
