"We were there on a weekday for a dinner for two birthday celebration. We've been to Il Nido before but it's a bit far from where we live so haven't been back for awhile. The food is exceptional, cooked to perfection. There isn't as much fanciness in presentation but we're just here for good food. The restaurant was very quiet when we were there, probably because it was a weekday and we had an earlier dinner than usual crowds. The decor is welcoming and classy in the dining room and feels private enough for a special gathering without having to shout to be heard. The prices for food are entirely reasonable, the wine seems a bit pricier than other places. It is a bit difficult to find from the main streets if you're not aware that it's there."

"We were surprised at how few patrons were in the restaurant for the evening. There was only 3 tables for 2, including ours that had customers, And it was a rather busy night on the downtown scene.
We ordered a bottle of wine with our dinner. After the first pouring of the vintage, the waiter elected to place the bottle on a window sill behind our table. There was more than ample space available to place the bottle on our table."

"this resturant is centrally located in downtown vancouver . Small and intimate , very quiet ...you can actually enjoy your conversation.
The menu is small so choices are easy . Everything we ordered was very nicely prepared and presented . Ambiance created by the owner and his staff was excellent . I would recommend a visit for anyone who enjoys good italian food ,( prepared the way it used to be) served in a quiet location where you can enjoy your meal with a nice glass of vino and actually hear what your partner is saying"

"Mostly this was about what I expected/assumed vs what we got. Meaning I've seen this restaurant for years, always wanted to go, had heard nothing, but expected a finer ambience, quieter, etc. hoping for good food.
what we got was very casual, noisy, but.......great food, fabulous service, ....made you forget about the rest. Would mostdefinitely go back! Two gentlemen who appeared to run (own?) the place were wonderful!"
