"We have been going to Delmonico's for the past 4 years since my son was attending St. Joe's University. It is conveniently located in the Hilton on City Line Ave. There is valet parking too. My son graduated this past weekend and we headed there for a wonderful graduation dinner. The oysters were delicious, and the steak excellent. The service is always very good. I highly recommend Delmonico's and will miss going there."

"I had high hopes for this place because of the great reviews but as soon as you walk in you realize that if you're not over 70 you won't fit in. The crowd was elderly, the setting was very old hotel decor, the service was polite but slow. We arrived at 7:30 for our reservations and had three courses by 11. We were the last table there simply because they never brought us a check. The food was delicious and the menu was great, but I was looking for something a little more hip and modern."

"Great food, but off the beaten path if your in downtown Philly. Delmonicos is hidden inside Hilton Hotel. Expected "hotel food", but pleasantly surprised. Previous reviews were right on - great food, great presentation. A bit pricey, but very good. Scallops with bacon and french onion soup started the meal, filet and chicken filled the middle and apple strudel and creme brulee. Definitely a recommend!"

"I'm a steakhouse kinda guy and I usually judge a steakhouse by its ribeye. Delmonicos did not disappoint. My steak was cooked perfectly. A nice thick cut, bone-in delmonico with a little char on the outside and consistent marbling inside. It was so delicious I finished the whole 18oz portion. Though it was not the best I've ever had, it was very near the top.
The calamari was great, but the sides were just okay. Service was excellent, while ambiance was asgood as it can be while still knowing you're in a hotel restaurant.
As far as Philly steakhouses go, its not as good as butcher and singer, but makes Ruth's Chris look like a McDonald's."

"We had been out all day at an auction and were exhausted and still in casual clothes. We planned to slip into the bar, but the maitre'd said , "you look tired and hungry. I have a lovely table for you". The service was wonderful and the food excellent. These folks are GREAT,"

"Two big complains:

1. My steaks and my girlfriend's were both charred. My steak did not come out medium rare as specified (hers did, in spite of the charring)
2. I ordered peppercorn sauce for my steak and did not receive it with the entree, I had to request it.

Other than that, the service as good (not excellent because of the peppercorn sauce). The waiter was very nice, and knowledgeable about the menu. The service was prompt as well.

The last time I ate here, the steaks were perfect, so this is probably an anomaly."

"First time here. Food was excellent. I had the crab cake appetizer, small but very delicious. My wife had the calamari with a sweet chili sauce. Very tasty. Rib eye steak with the mushroom sauce for me, rack of lamb for her. We were both pleased with our meals. cooked right, seasoned well, not salty, which I appreciate. I would definitely go back"

"Was disappointed that we were seated at a table by the open entry which is on the first floor, when the doors to the hotel n restaurant were opened we felt the wind and cold air, asked to be moved.....they closed one of the glass doorsand didn't offer to move us......and there were plenty of other tables at that time.......

when making the reservation had mentioned it was my wife's birthday.....and we were celebrating as a family etc.....had to remind staff....they said they had it in the computer but didn't notice it etc., but just to mention it to the waitress ......appeared to me that uness you were a regular returning customer, you received less attention..........which is difficult to accept when you are paying close to $400."
