"This is another case of Landry's Group getting hold of a very good restaurant and reducing it to an overpriced, average place to eat. The steak was not good - the sound level was intolerable. Grossly overpriced."

"Great celebration of grandson's birthday---he had asked to go to Morton's. They did not disappoint---had his name at the top of the menu, and the waitress asked immediately who the birthday boy was. They took a picture of our family to take home, and then the "birthday boy" got his free dessert!! Got an extra discount for having a Landry's Card.
It was a special evening for this 14 year old!!!
Eric was very helpful with the wine, and the food was fabulous!"

"While making my dinner reservation, I made sure to select the occassion as anniversary and I'm glad I did. We were greeted with "Happy Anniversary" as we were shown to our table. Our waitstall made sure our entire evening was special. The drinks and the food were fantastic. And our waiter gave us an anniversary photo to always remember this wonderful night. "Friendly staff, fantastic food and ambience. All our needs were met before even having to ask. We showed up 15 minutes before the dining room opened and we were quickly asked if we wanted to sit in the bar area to sip a cocktail while waiting. We will definitely be back. "The whole experience was average. When the main course order was placed, soufflés were also included since it takes some preparation time. But then we were with the main courses, we were told that the kitchen was backed up and it will take some time to get the soufflés.
The soufflé was a little bit on the underdone side, having a significant amount of liquid I the bottom.
Steaks were done to exactly to the requested temperature and arrived timely.
The Mac and Cheese side dish was a bit on the dry side."

"Morton's the Steakhouse was a great meal. The waitstaff was professional, and never intrusive.
The food is pricey, so I would only recommend this restaurant for special occasions. The Steaks were tasty, not the best I have ever had, but still quite good. The side dishes (au gratin potatoes, and grilled asparagus) were exceptional.
In Houston there are many premium steak houses (Perry's, Pappa's, Ruth's Chris, etc...) and Morton's has a place, but i don't think I would go so far as to tell you it is the best in Houston."

My family and I were celebrating Mother's Day and would like to commend Mr. Brad Smith and his staff for making our dining experience a memorable one. The staff greeted us wonderfully upon arrival, the food was spectacular and our server David made sure that we received our courses in harmonious fashion. "Food (filet mignon & mixed grill) was very tasty but lukewarm; like it sat for too long under the lamps. To be fair, the restaurant was very busy due to Mother's Day, but for the high prices one pays at Morton's, that should not happen. We informed the waiter who was very willing to have my wife's steak reheated but she opted not to being worried that the steak might get overdone. The sides were only warm. Carrot cake (cold) was superb. The room was very noisy."

"I've been at Morton's already in Singapore, New York and now Houston. Always an outstanding experience. I use this restaurant most likely for special occasions, because its still quite expensive. But it always worth the money!

"Since the new management has taken place- it seems the menu offering have been nicely expanded, but the quality of wait service has declined. I am not sure that Mortons' has retained its notable high level of service excellence in the transition at the Galleria location.
Attention from wait staff seemed lower and waiting for check seemed longer than necessary.

"Delicious steaks prepared perfectly! The Creole style Shrimp appetizer was outstanding! For this dining experience I had the Cajun Style Rib Eye. It was tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned. The fat was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, which is exactly the way I like it. My wife's Filet was juicy and tender, even though she prefers over cooked steaks (Medium well). Excellent wine and spirits selection. The host Eric is always attentive to your every need, and the server Mario is outstanding as well. This is not a cheap restaurant to dine at, however its worth every penny of it! I look forward to dining there again."

"Great birthday dinner. We always have a wonderful dining experience at Morton's. We each started with salads, mine was the chopped spinach salad, which was delicious. Then ordered filets that were perfectly cooked, and added the brussel sprouts and twice baked au gratin potatoes to share. A grand marnier soufflé was the perfect ending. Light and refreshing."

"We had a 730 Reservation, and got seated at around 8 pm. Noise level was horrible, tables are too close together, my chair got bumped at least 5 times that evening. I ordered medium Rare and my friend ordered medium and there was no difference in our filet at all. Mine was overdone for sure. The cheese for the baked potato was fake cheese, processed slick and shiny looking, the bacon could have cracked my tooth. The waitress was very sweet and did the best she could, kind of slow to bring the salads however but she was friendly and nice and pretty efficient."

"Early evening dining inside the restaurant (not bar) - good wine list, steak was tasty. Side dishes were large portions and tasty, but a bit too salty. We needed to eat in the Galleria-are, and, for that area the dinner was good, but there are other Houston steakhouses we prefer. Service started out great (we were 1 of 2 parties in the dining area), but was lackluster toward the end of the meal, which was about the time the number of diners increased. The setting is sophisticated and perfect for conversations."

"Food and service were excellent. The Shrimp Alexander was exceptionally good, but everything was excellent, well prepared and cooked perfectly. We arrived early (5:30) because we were going to the theater and told the waiter we needed to leave by 7:00. We got squeezed on the time. We should have skipped dessert, but had already ordered the Souffle (in connection with ordering our meal, so in plenty of time). Everything worked out fine, but slightly improved timing of the dessert would have avoided this minor flaw."

"My husband and I went to Morton's to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. Before making a reservation, I called to ask about menu pricing. Meredith, the hostess, was very gracious and offered to fax or email me a copy of the menu! When we walked in and told Meredith our name for the reservation, she said "Hello, Happy Anniversary!" The waiter, David, did a great job of explaining the menu, and the food was delicious! David later took our picture, developed it, and gave it to us in an "anniversary card" made by the Meredith. When David was busy with other guests, another gentleman (presumably a manager) stopped by our table to see if we needed anything. All those factors made for a very memorable occasion!"

"I have been there once about 5 years ago and for some reason my family tells me that I did not like the food, I don't remenber why but I went to try it again at the begining of this year and really have enjoyed the food especialy the cajon rib-eye and the time I have been spending their, I don't know what happen the first time I ate there but I am glad that I went back to try it again because it is a really great place to dine at."

The chocolate souffle had no taste and was the consistancy of chewy sugar free cotton candy. With the vast number of great steakhouses in the Houston area, I will go elsewhere in the future."

"Lovely post-Valentine day dinner. Because of the NBA All-Star Game on the same weekend, traffic in the area was literally at a stand-still. When I called the restaurant to explain why we would be late, they were quite gracious and understanding, and assured us that our table would be waiting when we finally got there, and it was. Very nice server as well. Some of their own waitstaff were late, but they worked very hard to take good care of their clients."
