"The lunch was very good and the service was good. However, there was a party in the same room as the two of us were having lunch. The noise level from the group irritated the two of us and we had a hard time talking with each other. My suggestion is that if two people want to have lunch together. then they should be seated away from a large party or I don't know what else could be done. The noise level coming from the table near us was way too loud and kind of interrupted the talking that we were trying to accomplish."

"No noise control in wine cellar. Each screech of little kids next to us was magnified by ten, and the speaker blasting out-of-place salsa music in my aunt's ear prevented her from enjoying converstaion with the family. The food was certainly not hot, and was definitely overpriced for the quality. My dad didn't care for his steak coming out on a cutting board, either. He appreciates his meals on plates. Plus there was a huge piece of gristle on his meat. My salmon was disappointing. My uncle spent about 5 minutes trying to figure out where we were seated after he parked. The hostess "didn't recall" seating us and couldn't find my reservation. K's isn't the way I remember it years ago, unfortunately. We won't be back."

"The online menu looked good, but turned out to have changed and had mostly very dull entree choices. Serving sizes were small and the food was just ok. The wine selection was great, the physical surroundings were lovely and the service was great. It was very expensive and in no way worth the cost."

"This is a true neighborhood gem! The food was updated, fresh and delicious. We sat outside and it was beautiful. The Crabcake was excellent and the sandwiches were so large they had to be cut in half to eat them. Definitely recommend!"

"Mrs. K's is a nice restaurant but my experience was not so good. I had a business meeting with four guests from Washington D. C. They met me for lunch at Mrs. K's because I told them it was a great place to eat. My reservations were for 11:30am but we arrived at 11:25am. We were told that we could not be seated because it wasn't 11:30 and were asked to wait outside. I asked if we could be seated in the Sun Room and was told NO because they were not serving that room today. Really? they made a group of 5 customers wait outside for 5 minutes and would not seat us in the Sun Room which is only a few steps from the open seats. I was very embarrassed to say the least and seriously doubt that I will ever hold a business meeting there again."

"This is a charming, old-school style restaurant, set in an old house with scattered dining areas. Food is very good, as is the service. If you're looking for a civilized setting where you can actually hear your tablemates conversation, this is the place for you. Plus, they have a lovely garden area which makes for a pleasant view out the picture window."

"We had a party of six for dinner. The service was slow. It took too long to get our wine. The entrees were cold and two in our party had tosend the food back. The tuna was cold and a steak was not cooked to the proper temperature. For the price, it was embarrassing. The quality of food does not live up to the price point. We will never go back there."

"I'm not even going to mention the waiter's name (if I even remember it correctly). I don't know if he is new, or what, but it is some of the worst service I have ever received at this caliber a restaurant. Forgot our soup. Opened the wine early (after forgetting the wine I ordered). Mixed up two of our entrees. He was very nice, but Mrs. K's should never allow this type of thing to happen."

"I organized a brunch date for me and a few of my best friends to celebrate my birthday and my visit from Colorado. By the end of the brunch I was convinced that this has to become an annual affair for us. The food was simply wonderful, from the eggs benedict (I tried both the ham and the smoked salmon) to the prime rib, everything was perfectly prepared and attractively laid out. Service was appropriately attentive without intruding. We love Mrs. K's!"

"I've been back to Mrs. K's for the past 2 years with my church - where the food was plentiful. However, my 2:30 reservation last Sunday was a bit disappointing. At the time my party sat down, the food on the buffet was sparce and what meat we got was the last bits of meat, I believe, from the early morning guests. There was not enough seafood (particularly crab legs) to be had and we were told that there would be no more offered. There was plenty of veggies. The desserts looked also the last of what remained from the morning guests. Mostly everything that should've been at least warm, was not. Yet, we were charged the full price but was not offered a full price buffet. Very disappointing."

"The food sounded better on the menu. I noticed not much care went into the preparation of my meal which was heavily sprinkled with shake Parmesan, including a large lump, and then intermittent shaves of Parmesan were laid over that. The taste was only mediocre because of the poor quality of cheese. It's really lovely here. I wish the food were a bit better."

"Mrs. K"s Toll House is a wonderful place to have lunch. The atmosphere was cozy and warm. It reminded me of my grandfathers house in Pa. Very quaint! We had fried oysters,cesaer salad,crab cake,red potatoes,green beans,scallops with linguini. The meal was "excellent"! Our waiter was wonderful. He did a GREAT job. Very customer oriented. This was my first visit to Mrs. K"s. I LOVED it! We will be back soon."

"Mre. K's Toll House (MKTH) has the best scallops with a lovely andive salad. My fiance ordered the filet, which was melt in your mouth! At the end of our dinner, we ordered the salted caramel puff pastry (that was filled with heavenly cream) desert and fell in love! Although the prices were high, I would definitely come back. The food was outstanding.
Two reasons brought us here; I received an email for a complimentary dessert after joining their email list and my mother has always told me that MKTH has wonderful food."

"still has the old fashioned charm from years ago...rooms look the same as when I went as a teenager...but food has been updated and servers were wonderful. We went for Sunday brunch and it was a vibrant, family-oriented (just came from church) group and we enjoyed not only the food but the patrons sitting near us. The brunch selection was outstanding and very sumptuous for the price. We would love to go back when the weather is better too."

"Underwhelming brunch. Plenty of food and broad selection. Nothing special. Service was odd - we were seated and then left there without a welcome, someone to take a drink order (coffee, really), or any "cue" to go and join the buffet line. While we understood that we could just get up and go to the buffet, it was an oddly ingracious welcome to a restaurant that is otherwise steeped in graciousness."

"This was a horrible experience! I had been to this place about 6 years ago and had a wonderful experience. This time that was not the case, the service was beyond horrible the food was never replaced and to top it off the kitchen closed and we codnt order more food. So let me expound, when I arrived and was seated my server came to take our drink order but seemed put off that I wanted coffee and my wife wanted tea vice mimosas or other drinks. Whe. I got my first plate around 2:08 pm the bacon was running out and several of the items on he buffet was out/ and never replaced and the server only refilled my coffee after asking 3 times. I mad another review on urban spoon that is more detailed but safe to say save your money on this place."

"The interior and exterior are adorable, likely historic. I went on Valentine's day 2013. We were put in the cellar, which would have had a wine cellar feel if not for the big screen TV's playing prime time television. We were also placed at a table for 4, which turned out to be fine because me and my girlfriend like to share a lot. The menu items were interesting and cooked perfectly, but there was something lacking in the flavor. The scallop ceviche was served with small greens covered in a pool of excessively acidic and artificial tasting lime juice. This all being said, I know Valentine's day is a busy day, and they have to do what they can to accommodate so many people."

"We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday at Mrs. K's, which is one of her favorites. The restaurant accommodated our desire to surprise her by seating some out of town guests before she arrived. They also opened the side door to make it easy for her to get in. The food was delicious and we had a very nice, unrushed time."

"Finally got to this place after driving by it for 3+ years. Amazing service, such delicious food- we had filet mingnon and risotto with truffle oil (A-mazing!!!). It's expensive but definitely worth checking out!"
