"I said it all above. Great food, good ambiance, good service, easy parking in a part of Asheville that is not noted for an abundance of parking spots. I highly recommend it and will take guest there often."

"Brunch at the Red Stag was amazing. The food, the service and the decor were all top notch. Prices were very reasonable considering it's in a luxury hotel in Asheville. I would certainly reccomend it to anyone in the area or visiting. It certainly made Father's day very special for my dad!"

"One of the best meals our family has ever had. Flash fried broccolinni was gone in 30 seconds. Meal was better prepared anducj cheaper than Ruth's Chris across the street. Lighted menus were a special touch our guests will remember for years. We will be returning."

Review 5 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"Prevailing atmosphere was directed more toward the facility than the customer. Although reservation made several days in advance, we were seated just outside of, and in the traffic pattern, of the kitchen. We passed several empty tables to arrive at that point. Don't know who desirable seating was being held for, but evidently our reservation was not highly ranked. Red Stag made a special occasion quite mundane."

Review 6 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"We were recently on our honeymoon and decided to give the Red Stag a try. Great atmosphere, the only dowmside is that it is a hotel restaurant so you might find the odd family. Our server, Sarah was awesome! Prompt, was ready with water/drinks/wine, and even offered to decant our wine for us. Great food we had the elk and the filet mignon with the mac and cheese and both were delicious. We will be coming back on our next trip for sure!"

"If you are looking for a quiet restaurant, excellent food, and amazing ambiance then this is the place for you. The wine pairing dinner is always a great value. The food is amazing, the Elk is the best steak you will ever eat. I would recommend reservations if you want to be assured of getting a table."

Review 8 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"My husband and I have eaten here many times and always enjoyed great food in a warm, beautiful environment and great service. This time, our waiter was awful. He rarely checked on us and was so bad at refilling our drinks that I eventually asked for two. My steak was the tiniest filet I have ever seen and no where close to the 8 ounces I ordered. By the time my new steak arrived, my husband was completely finished. They did bring some fried green tomatoes for me while I waited; however, I don't eat fried food. I had ordered my food without butter and sauces. Just a little communication and common sense on the part of our waiter could have greatly improved our night out. We were terribly disappointed with a restaurant that normally pleases."

Review 11 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"The Red Stag is one of our favorite restaurants in Asheville as it is always a great dining experience. The old world hunting lodge setting is just part of the charm one will enjoy when dining. The backlighted menus is always a surprise for the individuals dining for the first time. The wine list is good, dinner choices is extensive and the service is wonderful. A place to dine when visiting Asheville."

"Wonderful experience as always. Had the steak salad for lunch. Bacon and blue cheese vinaigrette on mixed greens, topped with melt-in-your-mouth chilled steak slices. Boiled egg and a bruleed tomato came with the salad as well. Delicious. Boyfriend hada very good angus burger with stag fries. Server was very helpful and made great suggestions when it came to the menu. Always looking for an excuse to eat here, favorite Asheville restaurant."

Review 14 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"Walking in you're transported to a more rustic era. Decorated in a hunter's Bohemian style - interiors of wood, antler chandeliers, mounted game, and plush velvety seating. The menu consisted of the normal fish, beef, and chicken to more daring bison steaks and elk tenderloin. They also had a 4-course tasting of the Chef's accomplishments at a Chef competition in which he scored highly with unusual ingredients in which to incorporate into his menu. We chose to indulge in this as an appetizer for our table of four and were very pleased. We also added the calamari. Everything we chose for our dinner was wonderful and we would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting something a bit different."

Review 17 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"Chef Adam Hayes is a maestro. He possesses a unique creative ability to orchestrate flavors and textures, teasing out the subtle ones and toning the bold ones, layering them into a grand master piece. In each course. We had the Fire on the Rock tasting - impromptu dishes he created in the Got to be NC dining competition. Delicate beef pho, Spanish shrimp and grits (with clams and beef - who would have thought?), duck rubbed with cocoa, topped with mole sauce, vegetables with a Mountain Dew glaze, and sweet pork in a strudel nest. All cooked delicately to perfection, all complemented with the perfect wine. The experience left us starry eyed and in tears, it was so good. Good luck in the state finals!"

"My wife and I had a wonderful time during the whole evening and the food was spot on in all aspects. The wine list had several notable reds which was a great addition to our meal. The staff was very helpful but could be more in tune as to when to approach the table. This attention to detail and the menu will put this restaurant in the top tier selection for those looking for a fantastic evening out."

"Food was average, maybe a $15-20 value but actual cost for mother's day brunch was $45.First visit there, it was fun to see the interior of the hotel lobby and dining area but I don't think I would return for another meal. The only outstanding food item was the bread!"

Review 22 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"My sister and I attended the Red Stag Restaurant for their Mother's Day brunch. The menu for this brunch is a price fixed menu for three courses and the selections are a gastronomic delight. We both had the fried green tomatoes with deviled egg and topped with shrimp. The entrees were delightful. My sister enjoyed the red grouper and I delighted in the unique Eggs Benedict. This particular presentation replaces the traditional Canadian bacon with a very nice small filet mignon as well as crab meat and all topped with a wonderful Hollandaise sauce. The third course was the desserts and we selected the strawberry dessert and the chocolate dessert. Both were delicious. Service was spot on. The bar was a nice place to wait before seating."

Review 23 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"This was the restaurant for a upscale (not downtown but and activity centered ) hotel. Parking around the hotel -scarce but free valet at door. We were from out of town and dined early mid week so things were not rushed. The tasting menu was quite nice, even though it was said to have been part of a challenge like on Chopped, the show that makes the contestants use unusual ingredients as part of the dish. It was a display of the chef's talents and quite enjoyable. The other meal was a delightfully prepared Halibut , a fish not always easy to handle in the kitchen. The sauce and the veggies all blended very well. Portions were generous including the appetizer. All in all a delightful experience."

"Overall a very good special occasion spot. Great service and atmosphere, food is always goods. We had Easter Brunch and were very pleased.only problem was that after a local tax and establishment added gratuity, the advertised price was off the mark quite a bit. Still recommend for any special occasion."

Review 33 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"We decided to go to the Grand Bohemian Red Stag restaurant for Easter brunch. We enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere along with the food. They featured a fixed price three course menu which allowed for several selections for each course. We had a party of three and all ordered something different and shared a couple of bites. I particularly enjoyed the salmon but the lamb and eggs benedict dishes were tasty as well. Would definitely recommend to friends."

Review 34 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"We had wonderful dinner. The only complaints we had were the lighting made it very difficult to see what you were eating. The dessert menu blinded us at the end of the evening. (Cool idea with the menu lighting up!!) Also, we ordered a glass of wine ($18.00 a glass) and it was very warm. The bartender said it was very difficult to keep red wine at the optimum temperature. That problem should be fixed. You have a great wine list, however, I'm not sure I would order red wine by the glass. Overall, we had a very nice experience."

"The food was not up to their usual standards. We were a bit disappointed in our lunch on Monday, 3/11/13. We are from a local business and enjoy going to the Red Stag because it is convenient and conducive for meetings. However, this time two of our diners were not happy with their food. One sent their entree back and the other just did not eat their soup. It is a beautiful and expensive restaurant/hotel and one would expect the food to be on par with the ambiance they set."

Review 41 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"We stayed at the Bohemian Hotel in Asheville, which was wonderful. We had a fantastic breakfast which is what prompted us to try it for dinner, rather than Cucina 24. For bfast, the orange scented pancakes with bacon cooked in the pancakes were excellent. My husband enjoyed his fritatta, house potatoes, & bagel. Our waiter was awesome.Dinner was a different story. Our waitress Cheri was not friendly, responsive or helpful at all. We sat with our menus for 25 minutes (after ordering an initial drink) until she came to take our dinner order. The fried green tomatoes and wedge salad were delish. Friend's salmon was bad, he ate none, and was never asked if it was good by waitress. My steak was good, husband's was cold. Dessert good, but avg"

Review 43 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"I was dissapointed in the food after hearing such great things about it. It may have been an off night for them but most of it was very salty. I did enjoy the crab appetizer and my petit filet was cooked nicely but the fried green tomatoes and especially the littleneck clams were overly seasoned and not worth finishing. The red wine that was suggested for my filet was a pinot and didn't pair well. Overall I would say the food was good but not at all worth the price. Asheville has an amazing selection of great restaurants but this one just didn't happen to be it for my husband and me."

Review 44 for Red Stag Grill-Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
"I'm not a big meat eater so when I go to Asheville I tend to look for a more veggie forward restaurant. However, Red Stag puts such a glorious emphasis on meat that it's incredibly difficult to pass up. Last time I was there I stayed at the Grand Bohemian hotel and ate there on the first night of our stay. I had the Elk Tenderloin and my wife had the Beef Tenderloin with the A1/Balsamic sauce. I mimicked it at home and it was delicious! Red Stag will never let you down if you've got high expectations! Certainly a favorite. Slightly pricy, but worth every penny--fantastic wait staff by the way."

"I've never placed a review from a restaurant before, but I felt that the Red Stag deserved one. This is, by far one one the best culinary experiences I've had in quite some time. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and have had plenty of experience in the front of the house, back of the house, and as a patron and manager. The Red Stag is a gem, and kuddos to the entire staff for making our meal one to remember."

"Best sea bass (or any fish) I ever had in my life. Truly, truly outstanding. Best chef in Asheville and you can see why. My husband's duck was also fabulous. Totally worth it. Dessert menu seemed a little "typical" so we didn't try, but dinner was great. Salad was terrific too...vanilla poached pear, winter greens, walnuts, dried fruit, feta....nicely done. Pears made it terrific...and I'm a salad snob."
