Place at Perry's is a Dallas original restaurant that has been open over 10 years serving prime steaks and sustainable seafood. Recently relocated into our SHINY NEW DIGS, Place at Perry's is a casual chic modern day steakhouse with soaring ceilings, a wrap around patio, serpentine crimson bar, private dining room and our late night bar, 1049 (open Wed - Sat from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.) For all of the meat we serve, the animals have never been given antibiotics growth hormones or any other chemicals, they are also raised humanely and sustainably. The menu is much broader than traditional steak houses with varying array of dishes that have a Fresh, Local, Flavor theme.
"Nice Uptown Steak House, with sleek and modern decor. Great bar scene and appetizers. Outstanding and attentive service. Solid steaks. Wonderful grilled brussel sprouts (then lightly fried (no batter) in garlic butter). Acceptable wine list. complimentary valet parking."

"Overall I was pleased with my experience. The only reason that it was below expectations was due to the under cooking of the steak. The desired prep was MedWell the steak arrived Medium Rare/Med visibly red not pink. That was very displeasing to my mother which was influentially in my decision due to this being a birthday dinner for her. The ambience was wonderful and a very beautiful patio on a Saturday afternoon.
I would more recommend this location for lunch or to go with friends for a nice glass a wine. The service was wonderful and without naming a particular wine the server made a excellent choice."

"My family went there for Mother's Day Brunch. The food was unique and Delicious! We had the Southern Fried Ribeye with eggs and cream gravy on top! You could cut it with a fork! The grits and bacon were to die for! The water with cucumber was refreshing! And for an upscale restaurant the price was refreshing too!"

"I like a place that I can count on to be consistently good...no iffiness or worry that my client won't have a good experience. Chef Charles and his kitchen crew know how to deliver good food every meal. Manager Matt and his staff know how to pace a meal and always make my clients and me feel welcome and important. I can count on that at The Place at Perry's."

"Place at Perry's, an illogical name picked to settle a lawsuit with a competitor, is a little confused. It would like to be a competitor of the name-brand steakhouses (Del Frisco, Capitol Grille, Morton's) but it's a little lower price point, a little less formal, and a lot sparer on menu and wine list choices. Our server was just one step up from "Hi, my name is Biff"; he used his finger to stop a drip on the neck of our wine bottle.
My wife specified "no salt, please"--a medical necessity-- on her rib-eye but it came liberally sprinkled with kosher salt. They replaced it but the second try was rushed and undercooked for medium rare. They comped it on the bill but nonetheless the evening out to celebrate a business coup was unfulfilled."

"Place at Perry's is our favorite brunch spot! We love biking down the Katie Trail and cutting accross to the Place at Perry's. Filet Benedict and a Bloody Mary are my first choices here. My husband loves the omelets and the Oscar Benedict along with a Mimosa. We both love to share the wedge salad to start and enjoy with the jalapeno cheddar biscuits! Truly a weekend treat in town that makes us fee like we are on vacation."

"Celebrated our anniversary and it was the greatest experience. The patio is a great place to sit and the service was impeccable. The host staff was accommodating and gave us an excellent table after our cocktails on the patio. It's a well-lit steakhouse with the best filet and tuna in Dallas."

"I'm hoping that The Place at Perry's was just having a bad night.
Pluses: We had a great waiter who shared personal anecdotes with us. They have a great brown bag apple pie; skip the entrees and order it instead. The atmosphere is intimate, which was great. We received comps on our salad and pie.
Minuses: Confused servers who took our silverware at the same time they served us entrees. The salad we ordered to eat between the appetizer and the entree came at the same time as the entrees -- and only because we reminded the server that we ordered a salad to begin with. My pistachio encrusted Acadian redfish was soggy, not crisp, and its sauce was cloyingly sweet. Her tilapia was good, but not great; my cats have enjoyed it more than she"

"You do have to go all the way downtown, it's a little hard to get to, and valet parking is necessary, but the Place at Perry's is worth it. If you like your dining focused on fine food (the steaks are outstanding especially with the rubs and crusts but the rest of the menu has some nice surprises, too), impeccable service (get Lawrence as your server for some good advice and entertaining New Orleans stories), a spiffy decor with colors that are joyous but not raucous, lending an atmosphere that is open but cozy enough to share a comfortable intimate dining experience, then this Place is for you. The wine list is casually modern and that brown bag apple pie is wicked. The bread pudding will give New Orleans a run for it's money, too."

"Made a 7pm reservation on Sunday 3/31. Was not told that the place was closing early for the Holiday at 8pm. Was sitting at the bar and when I was told, it was too late to order dinner. Had to leave and look for another place to have dinner!!No communication and unprofessional"

"Went for a late date night on Maundy Thursday at 9 PM. Not very busy with sporting events in town. Set in a booth under a beautiful chandelier. Our servers were the very friendly and knowledgeable bar staff, Carl and Stacy. Entrées were excellent! Pistachio crusted Acadian redfish and Niman Ranch bone in pork chop, med rare and done perfectly! Paired with one of my favs, Lynn Penner-Ash's 2010 Willamette Valley Pinot noir. One of the BEST date nights ever! A huge thanks to the Place at Perry's!"

"We had lunch here today as we often do, it was great as usual. The last two times that I'd dined here I had a server named Stacy, & she's the best server at the new location I must say. She memorized what I'd previously ordered. When was the last time (if any) that that has occurred?!
Amongst other great items that we ordered are the crab cakes. I've had crab cakes throughout the U.S. and abroad, and they are by-far the best in Dallas.. They're full of lump meat, not fillers and are seasoned perfectly. Each and every restaurant that I dine in I try their crab cakes. I won't name names, but a few other 4 star restaurants use lump crab meat also but there's absolutely no flavor.
For great food & great service try The Place at Perr"

"The food was amazing, the gnocchi, calamari, and brussel sprouts were fantastic. It wasn't crowded at all, we did go on a Monday night, but I hope this place stays around. The drinks are on the strong side, which is good. They have pretty good happy hour deals too. Overall, it was a winner. The pork chop impressed my father, which is kind of a big deal. We all left uncomfortably full because we couldn't resist trying everything."

"My favorite restaurant in uptown and one of my top 3 for all of DFW, never disappoints and only getting better! Always come here before an event at the Meyerson or AA center, great way to kick off the evening! Also have a fabulous brunch menu - patio is awesome when weather permits."

"We arrived thinking that this was part of Perry's Steakhouse, it is not. But once we were seated it didn't matter. Our server was excellent, which made the meal better than it was. The food was good, but my fish lacked seasoning, however my sautéed mushrooms made up for that. The carrot cake was advertised to contain raisins, but I couldn't find any. Nor could I find the moisture and lightness that I love in carrot cake."

"Food was okay but nothing special. I wouldn’t go there for brunch as the food selection is minimal. Hostess wasn’t at the door when we arrived so that wasn’t good. Wont be back to this place unless its just for a quick drink."

"This use to be our favorite restaurant. Since the first menus change @ the old restaurant this place has gotten worse. My last trip will be my last trip to This place. It is sad that a place I could not wait to come to has went from a 10 to a 5 @ best."

"Really nice waiter. He was friendly without being too friendly. Paced the meal properly. Food was inventive and very good. The room was pretty cold and that made it a bit uncomfortable. Someone should have noticed that most women were keeping their jackets on and adjusted the air."

"Beautiful location, but I should have been tipped off when the restaurant was empty at 7:30 on a Saturday night. Food was average at best, and they rushed us through the meal. I guess they wanted more empty tables."

"We stayed for dinner after a two-hour cocktail party in the Place's private room. Generous salads made way for entrees of a 2" bone-in center cut pork chop atop a pile of mashed potatoes...a huge meal...and the blackened chicken with cheese ravioli was tasty with plenty of fresh Parmesan cheese on top. Sorry Chef Charles, too much good food means there's no room left for dessert!
One of the best Happy Hours in Uptown with half price wines and $9 appetizers that double as an early dinner."

"Great place for a business lunch. Took a prospective client and we couldn't have picked a better spot. The service was excellent and did not seem obtrusive, so we were able to discuss business without interruptions. The good was outstanding and the $20 business lunch is the best deal in town. Will definitely go back and may try it in the evening with my wife."

"Do not visit this place without trying their apple pie, it is a once in a lifetime experience. Their appetizers were good, although I was not crazy about the lavosh with the spinach and artichoke dip, it was too dry and crumbly to match the heaviness or quantity of dip served. Their Oaxaca fried cheese was very interesting and unique, my husband liked it more than I did, it has a Mexican type taste to it. This is our second visit, we returned because the last time we came I fell in love with their New York Strip. They did not disappoint, the strip was every bit as delicious as last time and cooked exactly as I requested, Pittsburg style. The creamy spinach as a side is unremarkable, the fried sprouts are very good though."

"This was our second visit. Last time it was quite subdued -- this time it was popping so hard we could barely keep a conversation. Eventually the bar quieted down and the dining room noise was tolerable. Dinner was a gem -- we started with the crab cake which was perfectly done. Nice chunks of crab and great flavor. We loved the filet last time so much that we reordered. This time we changed up the sides and had the grits (delicious!) and crispy Brussels sprouts. The filet was the centerpiece once again. Probably the best filet in Dallas in the last five years! We're coming back P@P so be ready!!"
