We serve a simple, yet exciting Seasonal American Cuisine that relies heavily on locally produced and cultivated products. "You should first know that I am a very tough grader. I start at satisfactory (***), readily move down and begrudgingly move up from there. I cannot recall having given five stars in all categories. I simply can't think of any aspect of our meal that was less than outstanding. From the warm welcome to the service that was attentive but never overbearing. From the amuse bouche to the lollipop for the road, the food was inspirational in its conception, wonderfully sourced, and flawlessly prepared. From the cocktails prepared as we like them, to the wine pairings recommended by the staff, the beverage service was flawless. Given the constantly changing menu, mentioning specifics is worthless and given the quality of preparation - unnecessary."

"Kelly Liken was our fourth favorite restaurant this year during our vacation at Vail behind Ludwig, La Tour, and Game Creek Restaurant. Normally it would be our favorite but the food and service were way below par. Chef Liken must have taken the night off."

"We've come back to Kelly Liken several times when we're in Vail and it never disappoints us. The food combinations are always fresh and inventive; the staff is professional, congenial, knowlegeable and very accommodating; the wine list is superb and the staff knows how to make excellent pairings with the food. "My sister and I had a delightful meal. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The server knew a great deal about all the dishes on the menu. The second course -- diver scallop with pork belly was unbelievable. I bit into the pork belly and it was crispy on the outside and the inside just melted away. It was fantastic. The $74 three course meal is such a great value and is definitely the way to go. It's more substantial than a tasting menu but the servings aren't so large that you don't have room for dessert."

"While I would recommend this - I have a caveat. the food was amazing and the presentation and combinations of ingredients superb. What was disappointing was the menu. Specifically we were seated and given the menu that specified $75 prix fixe 3 course meal. My friend and I love to split things - usually three appetizers and an entree. We didn't like anything in the second course section so asked the waitress if we could sub for the other. It was ONLY THEN that we were told that actually you could do the whole meal a la carte with the first courses each about $15, seconds about $20 and main entrees $30-something. I think that is poor - that if you just assumed the menu at face value, you'd never know you could order differently."

"Definetly fit for foodies but there is at least one dish in each course for the less adventuresome palate. Loved the grilled radicchio and mushroom soup. Sticky bun sundae was to die for. Great service. Casual comfortable setting but the table appointments and service make the dining experience special. It was packed on a Wednesday night so advanced reservations were a good idea."

"Food, service, wine and overall feel were all top notch at Kelly Liken. The menu and added items are creative without trying to go over the top with flavors. The wonderful ingredients get their opportunity to shine with perfect preparation and presentation. Wine can be paired by the glass, and the by-the-glass options are actually quite good as the restaurant is not shy about opening better bottles. The service was fantastic, and the full staff did not miss a single detail along the way.
A special note to parents ... Kelly Liken gets it. The kids were offered their own prix fixe menu with approachable options. they were treated like patrons at a great restaurant and like kids."

"Kelly Liken is an excellent restaurant choice in Vail. The menu is varied and interesting unlike some of the other upscale restaurant choices in the area. The dinning room is well laid out and the service is fantastic.
I had the Citrus Grilled Octopus as the second course. It was excellent, but the lemon was a little overpowering. For the main course, I had the Roasted Colorado Lamb Loin, which was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious.
I'd highly recommend Kelly Liken for special occasions. The dining room, decor, service and food are all five stars. Like others have said, the pre-fix menu with drinks can become very expensive though, so it's not an ideal place to eat at that often."

"This was our first trip to Vail. We were excited to dine at Kelli Liken. It was everything we had expected and more! In particular, the service was outstanding--just about the best we can remember receiving anywhere. We were pleasantly surprised to find cobia on the menu. It is our favorite fish when we visit the Gulf coast. It was beautifully prepared and such a treat. We enjoyed the entire experience and would highly recommend the restaurant."

"We had a great experience in Kelly Linken. It was Valentine's Day (with kids). The restaurant is pretty, the service flawless (especially with the little ones.....), and the food amazing. I tried the elk carpaccio, the fried chicken, the trout, and a delicious Pinot Noir. Just incredible. But, i have to say, the flavors are delicate, maybe not for everyone. I would only improve the dessert list. We are planning to go there every time we visit Vail."

"Our second visit to Kelly Liken and it was as good as we remembered. We are a family group of 5 from Sydney, Australia celebrating a ski vacation in Vail but I think we look forward to our visit to Kelly Liken just as much. Very glad that our favourites like the elk carpaccio and potato encrusted trout were still on the menu. On special that night was the lobster bisque (for a $5 supplement) which was really divine. Of course many other tasty dishes which were alway beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommended for that special occasion or get together with family or friends."

"This was our second time to Kelly Liken. Just a great dining experience. Every member of their staff is welcoming and friendly; from the hostess/coat checkers to the people filling water. Our waiter was very informative, so sweet to our kids (5&6). The good was interesting and delicious. My daughter drew a picture and the waiter suggested that she give it to chef Kelly. A few minutes later Kelly came out and offered to show the girls the kitchen. They thought it was so cool to see who cooked their meals."

"We spent five days at Vail last week and ate at many great restaurants. I had heard mixed reviews on Kelly Liken, but overall had heard it was worth the try. The service was outstanding. We had one of the fixed menu options. While neither my wife or I really eat large portions, I must say that for the price portion sizes were very small. The food was very good. The only real complaint we had was that the hostess seated a party with samll children directly next to us while the restaurant was not even 20% full. Obviously, we were a couple and having small children seated about 8" away from us was uncomfortable--hostess or wait staff should have taken a bit more care."

"i was expecting to be blown away with the food. But alas ... it was simply bland. Had three course .. radicchio; bacon and scallop and black cod. Radicchio needed to be paired with real pancetta for a kick of salt and then a good sharp cheese vs gorgonzola. More dressing even if served on the side. pork belly fine but scallop lacked any flavor although cooked well. Black cod should have been on a nice bed of risotto with a strong cheese flavor and maybe some sauté spinach or kale blended in for flavor and texture. The in house cauliflower risotto was a joke ... just awful flavor and texture."

"After hearing from multiple people that the Vail restaurant scene was nothing to write home about, I was not all that confident leading into this dinner. Thankfully, all those people were wrong - at least on this place. The servers had a great grasp on the menu, and were able to explain all dishes in detail. The meal in its entirety stands out in my mind as a truly fantastic one, with impeccable service throughout. The staff could not be nicer, and they even helped us celebrate the birthdays in style. Try the kampachi crudo and the "chicken fried" sweetbreads; both were unreal!"

"It is so nice to be treated like royalty, especially dining as a vegan solo diner. The restaurant staff and chef were totally prepared for my request and provided me with a specialty inspired vegan meal that was the BEST I have ever tasted, including in vegan only restaurants. It just goes to prove that an amazing chef is an amazing chef, no matter what he/she works with. I loved that Kelly Liken also offers 1/2 glasses of wine. So nice when you want a second, but not a second full pour.
I will definitely be visiting Kelly Liken whenever I find myself in Vail!"

"We had an excellent meal. The charcuterie plate to start was the best I have ever had. I had the elk carpaccio, the pumpkin ravioli, and the new york steak. All were excellent and some of the best of those types of dishes I have ever had. Will definitely visit again."
