"We were looking forward to our dinner - the third one in as many months. But the waitress brought the wrong dinner for my husband and although she offered to exchange it, we had to keep an eye on the clock as we had theater tickets. So that was a disappointment this time. And the special she brought cost $10 more than his original order."

"Met my gorgeous lady at Fish Bones on a weeknight around 7pm. We were greeted with big enthusiastic smiles, seated right away, and received some of the best service I can recall at any restaurant in quite some time. The Bordeaux wine was great. The food was excellent and the entire time was absolutely wonderful. The prices were moderate and we will absolutely return. Such a great experience - and It may have helped too that my date was the most beautiful woman I've ever known :)"

"Prior to this visit I had always found the food to be terrific but such was not the case this time. When my food arrived it was luke warm at best. My wife's was warm and served at the correct temperature. When my server returned the plate warmed up I returned to eating and tried the rice pilof. It was tasteless. The seafood on the Medley plate was also blander than usual.
I was stunned as it has always been very favorful in the past.
As my wife and I eat we compared notes and both agreed that the food did not seem up to par with our past experience and was disappointing.
The place will probably get another chance because of past experiences but if this is the new version of Fishbones then I'm sailing off in the sunset."

Again the ones chosen by our party were all considered very good to excellent. Wine list was extensive but a bit pricy for the non expert."

"We were seated just beyond the entrance to the dining room...a table that I would have expected would have been assigned to a walk-in. It was consequentially in the middle of "traffic" and quite noisy. This is our second visit in two months: the first time we felt that the service was lacking; not so this time. However, the seating was significantly improved the first time. It just seems that when one aspect is in place, another one is lacking. Therefore, I find it overpriced; suspect that the prices are to "appear" competitive with another upscale dining choice nearby, where the details hit the mark every time."

"Our meals, for three of us, were all excellent. The calamari appetizer with Asian influence, was as good a Calamari as I've had. Lightly fried, coupled with Japanese vegetables and a light, Thai-type sauce. Terrific. The tuna sashimi was fresh, perfectly cooked, and nicely presented. Desert was decadent.(The walnut and caramel torte.) And, our waiter was extremely personable, efficient, and helpful. All in all, a very pleasant experience, and much appreciated by our guest from Australia."

"First, only approximately 1/4 of all tables were booked even though Open Table had no availability for the following hour after our reservation. The food was so disappointing. I used to like FishBones but things have gone downhill quite a bit. The entree lacked any sort of flavor, mixed grill entree, and the demi caesar salad tasted completely different than the caesar salad entree, if nothing else, you'd think you'd use the same croutons and cheese. Based on the most recent experience I'd never return."

"Fishbones is without a doubt one of our favorite restaurants in all of Maine. We love the laid-back atmosphere, the friendly service and the outstanding food with healthy portion sizes (in other words, you feel like the plate is worthy of the price paid). I always get the Lobster Rangoons - which again did not disappoint. I usually always get the sea scallops as an entree but this time took a leap and ordered the Tuna Sashimi and can say with certainty that I've found my new favorite. It was absolutely delicious - I will absolutely be ordering it again."

"We went to Fishbones during Maine restaurant week. For the appetizer we got the lobster rangoon and the mussels margarita - both were fantastic. Only came with 2 rangoons so not great for sharing but got a lot of mussels. For our entrees, my partner got the filet on shrimp risotto and I got the panko crusted haddock with fingerling potatoes. I don't eat filet but I tried the risotto and it was amazing, as was my entire plate. For dessert, we got the apple cobbler with bacon brittle ice cream and the brownie sundae with strawberry balsamic ice cream...both great. The service was above average and the environment hip but relaxed. I'd make the drive to go again!"

"My wife and I finally made it to Fishbones and we weren't disappointed. We visited during Maine Restaurant Week, which we have been trying to do the past few years but were not able to make it. The food and service was great and our waitress, Karen, was very good and answered any questions we had. We will definitely come back again. It is worth the 45 minute drive for us to get there."

"This was our 3rd time here in 3 months! We love it, and our 3 young boys do too! Wide variety of a kids menu including one being a steak option! However, my kids love the pizza and the cheeseburgers.
The bread to start is amazing, and you get a choice salad and soup. I always get the New England clam chowder, very tasteful! I always get the filet mignon with mushroom risotto, for my entree, WOW!!! To be honest, we have never tried the dessert because we are always to full, so you do get what you pay for! The bread to start is amazing, and you get a choice salad and soup. I always get the New England clam chowder, very tasteful! I always get the filet mignon with mushroom risotto, for my entree, WOW!!! To be honest, we have never tried the dessert because we are always to full, so you do get what you pay for! "As one of the more expensive restaraunts in our area, we had high expectations, and were not disappointed. The menu choices are creative and flavorful. Our waiter was excellent, and the atmosphere was comfortable and calm. For me personally, it was also nostalgic, because my grandparents and great-grandparents had worked in the mill where it is now located."

"I love Fishbones. Go there often. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and the food is always great. I particularly like the sashimi, but loved the lobster risotto on this occasion. If you enjoy the wine you get there it's available most likely at the local Roopers."

"I made reservations on line and we arrived 15 minutes early and were greeted and seated without a wait. There was a good selections of entrees. The waitress was very attentive and was great.
