A converted boiler room in the Bemis Bag building, built in 1896, The Boiler Room is an ingredient driven modern American/French restaurant. Chef Paul Kulik's menu changes daily to reflect local farm product availability. Now open six days a week for dinner, offering hand crafted cocktails and an extensive domaine driven Old World wine list.

"We took a big client to dinner at Boiler Room. The ratings on Yelp are really what drew me there. The ambiance was just as expected, very warm, inviting and interesting! I was surprised to see the restaurant was not very full, especially when open table showed not many reservation times available. You are encouraged to order three courses, so none of the appetizers were really "shareable", unfortunately. I got the scallops for my first course and they were delicious! The disappointment was my main course, the prosciutto wrapped monk fish. The fish was overcooked and there were too many flavors they tried to incorporate. The spinach was bland as well. I literally left 90% of my fish on the plate :("

"Very interesting restaurant in old building just south of the Old Market in Omaha. The food selection is interesting, the food was excellent, and the service was well-paced and attentive. Added note: Diners may park in front, where the restaurant has a row of parking spaces reserved, and may leave the car there all evening for Old Market events. Great experience!"

"The chef tries to use locally-sourced food: everything we chose came from within 200 miles. Folowing what seems to be the current trend, the chef also butchers & cures on the premises: One of our starters included tête de cochon. Our waiter was helpful, but not overly so. He helped my wife find a wine she enjoyed from their overwhelmingly ling list. I had a great cocktail (they describe their cocktails as "pre-prohibition" style) which had a rye whiskey (another current trend, it seems) base. We loved the idea that food producers arrive each day with whatever produce they harvested, and the chef decides what to make based on that. Go & enjoy!"

"This place is on a very industrial street, in an old building, and they intentionally left all of the pipe, bricks, and other industrial necessities exposed. Kind of a steampunk style restuarant. The lighting is nice with modern lights dropped from the industrial ceilings. They make a lot of their own drinks. I couldn't get my usual Bombay Sapphire martini, but I got a "D's Door" gin martini that was better than my usual. The salmon was from Scotland, and was outstanding. I think it had been seared on a super hot pan, so it had one side that was crunchy and savory, while the rest was still very rare, soft, delicate and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The service was very polite, and everyone was Omaha friendly."

"The food continues to amaze us - always new and creative preparations and always outstanding. The chef has a way with melding different flavors beautifully into one dish. We have had the rabbit several times - always slightly different and always memorable. It melted in my mouth. The staff, from the person who greets you at the door to the wait staff are professional, knowledgeable about the food, and unobtrusive in seeing that all your needs are met. Staff get to know patrons over time, which further improves the service. We love sitting on the main froor and watching the chef and his staff preparing the dishes. It is possible to find some good and reasonably priced wines, as well as many expensive ones. A definite favorite."

"Took my wife there for our anniversary, the food was more than amazing, and the service was some of the best I have experienced. They went above and beyond with little details like printing happy anniversary on the menu at our table, and paired amazing wine with our desserts. But I would not recommend this restaurant for a special occasion as they are unable assure a reasonable table for a party of even 6. We were placed in the lower part of the restaurant which is noisier and less attractive. The combination of table and chairs brought the level of the table up to lower neck level- even on a 6 foot male. Apologies were made, chairs were changed, but if you have a once in a life time event, this kind of accommodation is unacceptable."

"Overall great experience. I have dined here twice and find the food to be good, but not quite worth the price. I had the scallops and they were perfectly prepared, cooked through but not rubbery or overdone. The charcuterie board is good but to add just two small cheeses it totaled $35, which is far more than any other restaurant with a good charcuterie board. service was great...I appreciate the attention to detail like water on the table, crumb clearing, etc. wish the butter was better...cold and nothing to it. A nice sea salt or warm honey butter would be more unique."

"This is by far one of the best dining experiences I have had and most definitely the best in Omaha. The food was amazing and it's presentation was outstanding. "The atmosphere was amazing and probably one of the best upscale places in Omaha in that area. The food was good, but only on certain dishes. Please stay away from the crispy fried rabbit. Not worth $2 nor is it better that anything you could get at KFC. However, the shrimp is awesome for a small plate. Best I have had.
For an entree we should have went with the Sirloin but opted for the lambchetta. It was different but not the best we have ever had. I know they are known for better food, but maybe we just got the wrong items.
Went down to the bar for some great cocktails after dinner. The bar is really cool and the bartender was perfect at doing his job."

"I'm from LA and immediately gravitated to this lovely place. The service is always friendly and attentive, without being overbearing and the food is always a genius mix of flavors no matter what you order. It can be expensive, but I promise you, Omaha, it is worth it."

"Excellent service and food -- some of the best in Omaha. Our water glasses were never empty, but the waiters weren't hovering. Both of our meals were delicious and had very good presentation. The portion sizes appeared small, but actually were sized just right so as to leave us feeling full with no leftovers -- more restaurants should portion like this. My cocktail was outstanding as well -- one of the smoothest bourbon based cocktails I've had. The dessert was tasty, but not overly indulgent. It was overshadowed by the appetizer and main course, so perhaps it was unimpressive by comparison, even though I could tell a lot of work went into the dessert."

"Food and service were the best we have had in Omaha. Great place for night out with your significant other. The only negative, and it is very minor, we were seated on the main floor and it was a tad chilly but not enough to ruin the experience. Free parking and coat check were a nice bonus also."

"The unfortunate part is that my partner and I only get to The Boiler Room two to three times per year. This is absolutely hands down our favorite eatery in town. Chef Paul and his team are providing inspired locally sourced cuisine that has not once let us down. From the house prepared charcuterie, to the lamb and cod, to the cheese plate we finished with, everything was expertly crafted and the flavors were ethereal. As well, the wine cellar and bar perfectly compliment and for my money, they have the best Manhattans and Old Fashioneds in town. If you want an amazing experience, give The Boiler Room a shot. You will be glad you did."

"This is the best restaurant in Omaha. What more can be said here?
Flawless cooking by Chef Paul, seasonal menu, attentive staff. I've been here twice, both experiences were simply outstanding. The Boiler Room is as good as any Michelin star restaurant in Napa Valley. I've been to most of them, and Boiler Room is every bit as wonderful.
The meals are memorable!"

"I have to say, the food did not wow me as I was hoping it would, but, we ordered the striped bass and I have yet to have top-notch fish in Omaha anywhere. Don't order steak in Maine and don't order fish in Omaha. But besides that the carrots were very large and a bit past their prime and the lentils were just under done.
I will still go back because I suspect this is not the norm here. The scotch egg and tagliatelle were both fantastic.
To top it off the service was such that we have not experienced in very many places, spot on.
Beautiful decor.
We especially appreciated our server suggesting a perfectly matched wine selection (reasonable at $75) rather than a high priced bottle when my wife asked the server to select a "very nice""

"Our return visit to the Boiler Room was on the night before Valentine's Day, so we were trying to beat the rush. We really enjoyed our evening and had only minor hiccups (i.e. only one of us was offered bread). We were encouraged to order a split fish entree in part because of its elaborate presentation. While the presentation was very nice, the dish itself didn't impress. But I won't knock the Boiler Room too much for that because we're typically very pleased with our food there and we aren't big freshwater fish fans anyhow. As an aside, we really appreciate the reserved parking spaces in front of the restaurant. That's a real bonus for a spot in the Old Market on a cold night in February."

"This is a small, cozy restaurant, off the beaten path in Omaha.
They have a small, very interesting menu, featuring local suppliers. We were wowed because they had 3 fish entrees, out of 6. The other three were tasty looking lamb, pork and fish.
We order the whole backed striped bass (farm raised in Colorado.) It was exquisite! The skin was crusty and delicious. It was served on savory black lentils, with baby turnips and breaded cauliflower, plus strips of smoked fresh side (bacon) which went very well with the fish.
Great wine, great service."
