"Went to Sonoma for our anniversary. The whole experience was amazing ... from how we felt welcomed and special, to how they accommodated my dairy free needs. In fact the chef made a special dessert for me while we were there so I would experience a gourmet dessert! They enjoyed catering to who you are and what you wanted."

"Sonoma never disappoints. It is pricey, but worth it. Went Monther's day and food-menu were top notch. The only criticism is that they needed more waitstaff. Was very busy, and though the entrees-salad-apps-drinks came out well timed..it took 45 minutes to get dessert as more people poured in. Our waitress was spectacular and knowledgable..she was just a little overwhelmed and need a person to help her (IE a second) or less tables. Other than that. Amazing!"

"Once again, Sonoma did not disappoint us.
We went to Sonoma for Mother's Day. Despite being very busy, the food continues to be outstanding with an updated menu. The sevice was excellent: friendly, attentive, and informed. And the classical guitarist topped off the usual quiet ambiance.
We plan to return with friends in the near future.
Expect Boston prices, but the Sonoma experience is very much worth it."

"It was Mother's Day, so it was a diverse group who wouldn't ordinarily dine together. My mother, who is 90 found the chair to be unbearably uncomfortable, but the waitress was kind in putting together a pile of cloth napkins to pad her seat.

"My beef was a generous cut and cooked just right. The baby carrots were delicious but the rest of the vegetables were so so. My wife's lobster dish was mediocre. The desert, a chocolate concoction was very good. The service wat attentive but impersonal."

"When it comes to Mothers Day, there isn't a better place to take your mom or the mother of your child. What can you say when you get to dine at a place located in the country but really close to Worcester. Take the time to drive the scenic roads of Princeton and you will be rewarded with a superb dinning experience."

"the only issue I/we had, was the ambiance......it is a little on the dark side, for its size ....cozy is one thing but for a small place it was way too loud, you could hardly hear the server & or the guitar player (who when you did hear him .....was really good). The food was incredible....I highly recommend the Korean braised short ribs."

"My husband and I went to Sonoma restaurant for our 2 yr. wedding anniversary and couldn't have been happier! The restaurant is located in a small plaza in Princeton, MA and it's refreshing to know that Boston isn't the only place to find ultra romantic dining! The perfect experience to celebrate our anniversary with it's romantic ambiance and perfect fine dining from start to finish. Everything from the decor, service, soft music (including the cellist) and of course, the food was absolutely outstanding! The Seafood "Thermidor" was delicious and The "Cowboy!" was an amazing steak feature! Absolutely reccommend! Look forward to coming back!"

"My husband and I requested a quiet table for our anniversary and we were seated at a cozy quiet corner booth. Unfortunately, we were left sitting there for several minutes without a server coming over. The hostess made apologies, but offered no beverages. When the server came she was knowledgable and very efficient. The dishes were good, plentiful and lovely. The live guitar music was beautiful, but was marred by the playing of "Happy Birthday" at least four times in the two hours we were there."

"We haven't been to Sonoma for several years. This was a special birthday and the food was outstanding: the best swordfish I've ever had in my life (and I've eaten a LOT of swordfish). The service was wonderful -- once we got it. We were seated (by the hostess) for about ten - fifteen minutes before anyone came to acknowledge us. The error was explained and our new server was terrific and attentive (without hovering) for the rest of the evening.
We will be going back again. I would have given an overall rating of 'outstanding' if not for the service problem at the beginning of the evening."

"I loved this place from the moment I walked through the door. The decor was very inviting and relaxing. The meal was exceptional, one of the best meals I have ever eaten. "A treasure that's a bit in the boonies. If you are looking for a culinary experience and don't mind heading out to Princeton Massachusetts, then this is a place you have to try out. The menu items are pricey. The food, I feel, is worth the extra expense. My wife and I enjoyed the meal and Debbie our server, was there without being there, which is a mark of an excellent server. Our glasses were rarely empty and our plates were timely and delicious."

"Sonoma is only open two Sundays a year, Mother's Day, and Easter - the date of our recent visit. Our reservation was for 2 PM, and our table was ready when we arrived early. Service was notably lacking this time. Perhaps our waiter had worked too late the night before? He didn't offer us bread, did not elaborate on the special menu offerings, put our wine in an ice bucket and left it there until we asked another server to open it for us, and at the end of the meal kept my companion waiting for desert while the espresso got cold. His service was the bare minimum. The food was good, though. Lots of lobster specials. The Lobster Egg Roll was the hit of the day: big chunks of meat, with kimchi and a little soybean salad. It's pricy, but good."

Accommodated us by splitting salad in kitchen on two plates - the prosciutto/mozzarella appetizer was so-so, as was the soup. Duck and marlin entrees - very good - short ribs 'ok' - presentations fantastic, and wine recommendation very good. The restaurant was probably better food than we experienced as I'm not sure we ordered the best items as recommended by the server."

"This was my 2nd time dining at Sonoma, and the food is always outstanding. It's also extremely impressive when the chef is willing to change things to meet the diner's taste. I don't like garlic, and the waitress told me the seafood thermidor had garlic in the sauce, and she didn't think I could get it without garlic. I decided to take my chances, as they said it was just a touch of garlic, and the meal was delicious. The chef stopped by later to see how our meal was, and I mentioned that I couldn't even taste the garlic, and he told me he heard I didn't like garlic and made it without it. I've eaten at many expensive restaurants that would never accommodate me like that, so I was highly impressed."

"Our third visit to Sonoma and we were not disappointed! Our server Lynn is a great asset to this restaurant - extremely friendly and knowlegeable - this is a person who enjoys her job. The ambiance was great with a clissical guitarist playing thru the evening at just the right level to allow normal conversation. The food is beautifully presented and prepared. Looking forward to our next visit!"

"Overall the food was good, but not stellar, and not at Capital Grille prices (where the food is always perfect). The wine list was outdated, and the wine we wanted was no longer available. The lobster bisque was pretty good, but finding a piece of steel wool in it kind of put a damper on the meal. The best part of the meal was the chocolate desert - simply wonderful.

"The food was delicious and I was pleased to see that they accommodate those of us with allergies. My wife is lactose intolerant and I'm gluten intolerant. The waitress was very helpful in identifying which dishes did and did not have dairy/gluten. She even brought me a gluten-free dinner roll, which was delicious! The only miss in this regard was that they did not have soy milk or almond milk for my wife's coffee.Sonoma is one of the most up-scale restaurants in Northern Worcester County. It's not cheap, but it's well worth it for a romantic evening out or just an excuse to enjoy some really great food."

"Sonoma was an unexpected treat. Food and service outstanding. Unfortunately we were seated next to a table of extremely loud and thoughtless group of four. Their conversation, better defined as a shouting match, with unnecessary and inappropriate obscenities made for an unpleasant atmosphere. The server apologized, but this gesture, while appreciated did nothing to diminish the din. It was an unpleasant way to spend an evening and a lo t of money."
