Mountain Branch Grille & Pub
One of the best restaurants in Maryland is located just two miles from I-95 exit 74 at Mountain Branch Golf Course - 20 minutes from Baltimore.
Constructed out of three acres of Oregon’s finest Douglas Fir, the historic-looking timber-pegged post and beam structure has high ceilings, multilevel architecture and a magnificent view. The Grille & Pub at Mountain Branch is a favorite for relaxing after a round of golf and is an ever-popular destination for lunch, dinner and late night. Spacious patios afford dining al fresco when the weather is mild. And when winter winds are blowing, a large fireplace keeps the inside warm and cozy. The American-classic menu offers a diverse mix of tastes, including soups, salads, and sandwiches as well as fresh fish, crab cakes and Angus beef. "THE DINING ROOM I FOUND TO BE VERY NOISEY. NOT MUCH ROOM BETWEEN TABLES.COULD HEAR EVERY ONES CONVERSATION. IT WAS A FRIDAY NIGHT AND VERY BUSY. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY INTO THE TOP DINING ROOM SO VERY BUSY WITH WAITERS AND BUS BOYS MOVING IN AND OUT. VERY DISTRACTING. I AM SURE EATING DOING THE WEEK WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER TIME."

". It was my wifes 40th birthday celebration and I had made reservations for my wife and I and two other couples. When we were seated we were able to place a drink order. It took our waitress an hour to come back and take our appetizer order and that was only because I flagged her down. We though we would order our dinners while we had our waitresses attention not knowing when he might be back. I think she was so flustered she ran off before we could order anything. I had allowed two hours for dinner then had plans to meet up with a bunch of friends. We were 40 minutes late meeting up with the rest of our friends because dinner took so long. We were all very happy with our food. Just extremely disappointed in the service."

"The Mountain Branch Grille & Pub is affiliated with a golf course. The patio dining overlooks the golf course for a great scenic view. The kitchen creates some memorable dishes for specials and there are some standard menu items that are great choices e.g. the Fried Oysters are not to be missed. On Wednesday the restaurant has 15 wines priced at $15 per bottle. While these are not great wines at this prie, I usually find a real gem for what is effectively retail price. Dress is casual so you can have fine dining (or pub fare if you prefer) without having to dress up."

"We have been there before but first time for brunch. There were a lot of options for breakfast and or lunch. The food was good and hot. Service was not as usual, coffee was not refilled or were we told that for a few more dollars you could have unlimited mimosas or bloody Mary's."

"Mountain Branch is gorgeous inside. We went for lunch and ordered the black and bleu sandwich and shrimp po boy. Both were overly salty. The black and bleu sandwich had far too much bleu cheese for my liking, but my fiance thought it was fine. My shrimp po boy was disappointing. Mounds of tomato and lettuce and only 6 tiny pieces of shrimp... I wouldn't recommend this to anyone."

"This is by far my favorite place in Baltimore County to go to. The bar has an awesome lunch menu and the dinner menu at the restaurant is by far one of the best I've seen. Never had a bad meal here."

"Another fine dining experience was had by Mountain Branch.Price Fixe menu was a great value. The sword fish had a good flavor and was cooked well. The shrimp bisque was rich and tasty. "We showed up 15 minutes early and we were seated right away. The service was good and food was good. Timing was perfect. "Since being taken over by new ownership Mountain Branch is worth the visit. The menu is much better and plating what you come to expect from a fine restaurant. The veal chop was nice, although I could have appreciated a little less sauce. The scallops were big and perfectly cooked to our liking. The salmon was very flavorful, however the Md Crab Soup was a bust. Where was the crabmeat?"

"Went here for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was packed, which I'm having a hard time understanding. The food was bland and overpriced. I ordered one of the "specialty" items, a double-cut pork chop that is featured on the menu, so you would think it would be good. It was dry and absolutely flavorless, and $24. The steak sandwich was edible but nothing special. Maybe they do a better brunch than dinner; not sure we'll be finding out, though. An expensive disappointment."

"Absolutely, one of the most consistently excellent dining experiences in greater Baltimore. Food preparation, presentation, service and atmosphere spot on. Each person in our party ordered a different entre; crab cakes,steak, pork cop, sea bass. Every one was outstanding. If you want a great meal and lovely dining experience in an atmosphere that is charmingly rustic and unpretentious, give Mountain Branch a try."

"This restaurant usually serves a nice selection. Our meal was enjoyable, although the fried oysters did not have the right taste and one of our guests did not eat them. I can say that they were not bad, because I also ordered them, but there was just something about the taste not wasn't right, but I think it was the seasoning. The waitress was very accomidating and took my guest's off our bill."

"I originally made the reservations for a party of 10, possibly 11. I called earlier in the week to add the additional person, and the hostess was very gracious and accommodating. We were seated within 15 minutes of the time we arrived for our reservation. The food was very good. The waitress was very nice, but as the evening wore on, we saw less and less of her; our "dinner" ended up lasting about 3 hours. When we were ready for our bill, our waitress was busy elsewhere and we sat for over 30 minutes waiting for her to return with our bill. Overall, we had a very nice evening, and the accommodations are great for a large party. One suggestion: more servers for the weekend evenings."
