"We had a great birthday dinner with 6 friends at 508. The vibe was cool, fun and the food was absolutely fantastic. My husband got their beer sampler and loved all the homebrews as well. Waitstaff is attractive and attentive. We made a reservation for this weekend to go back because there are so many items on the menu that you just have to try."

"I've been here a few times. I like the beer options, I think they brew their own. I think the food is also good, but the portions are really too small. Servers were friendly but not overly attentive."

"We went for an early pre-theater dinner. Bruschetta appetizer and beet salad were very good. We each had homemade pastas that were excellent and nicely sized, not overdone. The warm brownie dessert was just so-so, but the cappuccino was delicious. Would probably have dessert elsewhere but otherwise food ingredients were well-chosen and matched together nicely. They feature their own house-brewed beer which is a unique touch -- the wines by the glass were fine but limited, clearly a focus on their beers. Our server was knowledgeable and since it was early the restaurant was fairly quiet."

"Haven't been there in awhile and was very disappointed. Service was terrible- server was pleasant enough but really couldn't be bothered to do anything more than the bare minimum. We ordered simple dishes and it took forever to get our food-- and it wasn't busy in there at all. And the food was not worth the wait. Very average in general. I have had the dish I had before and it was not as good as before, though teh salmon was cooked very nicely. We might have ordered coffee and dessert (extra $$ for the restaurant) but a) because the food took so long to arrive we ran out of time and b) the uninterested server never bothered to ask if we'd like anything else! Won't be going back."

"Feels like a high end pop-up restaurant. Shorter menu but a little bit of everything. We had tune tartar, crabcake, cheese and meat plate and oysters! Delicious oysters. $1 each if you seat at the bar! Can't beat that. For dessert we had a lemon merengue and it was nothing shirt of divine. Staff was very attentif and cordial, all in all we had a wonderful evening and left very happy."

"We went 6pm on a Monday. Quiet, uncrowded, delicious. Terrific tapas, best home brewed collection of beers in multitude of sour, sweet, bitter, and distinct flavors. Whipped fresh buffala mixed with honey like desert for starter. Crab and lobster tasty, not washed out, but delicate. Mashed potatoes with horseradish needed moisture. Might I suggest light cheese gravy. Fun menu with distinct choices, Small portions are good because one needs room for the various home brewed beer,"

"Went for the first time. Lots of tasty looking items on the menu. We had the rock shrimp tacos, duck empanadas, a pasta dish an the macrobiotic salad. Something for everyone and food was solid. Beer is delicious. We will return soon."

"Was very impressed with the menu and the quality of the food. The Pat LaFrieda short rib meat burger was incredible. My friend had the beer crafted on premise and was very impressed. Excellent gastro pub food and the service was great. Highly recommend."

"There's a lot of variety and a lot of shareability with the plates -- I think of it as modern American "tapas". The food is very good to great, and though the options cover the gamut, it never feels like they're reaching to unnecessarily expand the menu.
We've been here a few occasions, the last time with a group of 8 and they are always accommodating. Service is exceptional.
They brew their own beers ( and they're very good ) so that's a bonus for the beer connoisseurs in the group.
I only wish that this place was actually closer to home and not so nestled on the West side. I feel I might be a regular here."

"Love the mood of the restaurant. Smartly lit, candles adorn the space. The saddest part for me about this place is the giant tv going non-stop above the bar. To make matters worse, the mirrors multiply it throughout the space so that you just can't help but have your eyes land on it. Completely distracting from your party. What makes it the more frustrating is that no one is watching it!
In lieu of entrees, my party shared a bunch of appetizers. All excellent: Tuna tartar, fish tacos, mezze platter, oysters. The brussel sprouts were bland and underdone, however. Great signature beers and cocktails."

"One of our fave spots in all of downtown, a cool vibe, welcoming staff...in many ways a perfect NYC restaurant. 4 of us had a great evening. Huge fans of the beers that they brew here. Shared several small dishes: sliders, tasty & perfectly spicy...pork tacos, delicious, and a very cheesy flatbread with a great crust. Main dishes: we tried pasta with lamb...al dente. Never had an overcooked pasta here. Shortrib burger really delicious & juicy. Our friends had the roasted chicken and tuna entrees which they were very happy with. Always recommended."

"I am a regular at 508, and dinner was as delicious as always. We had the fresh bufala ricotta and honey, the roasted duck empanadas and the shawarma pizza to start. All of the small plates are so good, that we find it hard to pick just a few! For entrees we had the multi-grain macrobiotic salad with salmon and the wild boar lasagna. We didn't have room for dessert, but the churros are always a good option. The bartender McClain made us fabulous cocktails and the service was excellent. The vibe was lively and fun, perfect for a Saturday night!"

"We told the tattoo waiter we had a reservation though OpenTable, he sat us. We were given a "no show" through OpenTable. I called, it was corrected 2 days later. Drinks took longer than our appetizers, portions very small. Overall ok food, nothing to bring me back again. A bit overpriced for the small portions. They were out of Pilsner."

"The beer was good, but the food, at least the lamb burger, was very tough and tepid. The lighting was so dim that reading the menu was next to impossible, and the noise level was distressing, even though the place was half empty. A friend, however, found the kale excellent."

"For the high prices and the type of restaurant they want you to perceive it as, the service could have been alot more attentive and professional. The mixed drinks were great and most of the food we tried was good. A few items were mediocre and disappointing. I would give it a shot, if you're in the area because its not an overcrowded space and the atmosphere is cozy and hip. I probably won't be going back for the food, but maybe a drink at the bar."

"This was one of my worst dining experiences ever. The food was overcooked and lacked flavor. The service was abrasive and we were interrogated and shamed for not entirely finish a dish. We were overcharged for our drinks. The food was incredibly over priced (it cost at least 3x what it should have). There are so many good places to eat in this city, do yourself a favor and avoid restaurant. It's a good thing the location is so out of the way - I would hate for more people to suffer through a meal like this."

"Not the greatest on Valentine's Day. The server was very slow with all aspects of the meal, and the lasagna came out cold twice. Overall it was definitely not worth the $75 per person for their menu. The homemade beers were very good however."
