"What a great place. I've heard about it for years but finally had the chance to go as part of a Wine Tour in Loudoun County. Highly recommend this place."

"Great menu and drink selections. Ordered crab cakes and salmon entrees. Both were prepared perfectly and very tasty. Love overall ambiance at Magnolia's and always try to stop in for lunch/dinner when in the area."

"Fixed meal menu- special menu for Mother's Day. Four courses. Dinner plates were good, especially the prime rib. Dessert was an assortment/sampler plate and nothing on that was very good. Skip dessert and load up on savory calories instead! Although regular dessert menu is probably worth trying."

"Our favorite restaurant in Purcellville never disappoints us! We brought friends from CA with us and they were also impressed with the delicious food, great service and historic building. Thanks for another great meal."

"We were from out of town and Magnolias at the Mill was recommended. The menu was boring and had no, or almost no, local, fresh, organic items. Might as well have been eating at a big chain restaurant. Disappointing."

"We had very slow service and the swordfish and salmon dishes were disappointments. The swordfish which came dry and over cooked. The waitress said the chef was sorry and she brought another serving which was better. I scrapped off the topping (a jumble of strong flavors which overpowered the swordfish) and enjoyed it with the polenta. My husband' s salmon was very salty and a disappointment."

"I had the pork tenderloin special. It was paired with rice and covered with a slightly spicy sauce, but neither the rice nor the sauce did much for the pork."

"My wife and I love old Mills; in fact we were married in one at Millwood, VA not too far from Magnolias. We were not disappointed; the Mill is fantastic and much care taken in highlighting the old charm of its component’s. It was very busy for a Thursday evening but the food was spectacular I had the Special, a local raised Pork Chop and my wife the Brick Oven baked Ahi Tuna Wellington both were absolutely delectable. Anna was our waitress and was very attentive, although due to the busyness of the restaurant the service could have been just a tad quicker. We had a wonderful experience."

"We've been dining here for the last several years and lately it's been a miss. This last time we ordered the fried calamari appetizer and it was not as tasty as past times. Almost a little rubbery with a slight fishy smell. Then we had the spare ribs which is usually a big hit. One order was perfect looking ribs while the other was completely covered in hunks of fat. So once we cut off the fat there wasn't much left. Goat cheese pizza was a little soggy and bland. After that we didn't want to order anything else."

"Service was average. The people at front were friendly but I was disappointed in the waitress who didn't seem to care. The food looked good though I think the way to go here is order a pizza. The scallops appetizer was really great (my sister got 2 orders of it as her meal). The Pork Shank was a large portion and pretty tasty. The special Lamb Curry was not good as the meat was tough (I thought it was supposed to be braised but I guess not). The dessert-Chocolate Story-delicious. The drinks such as the St. Germain one was very light and tasty - the mojito was great but not as light - pretty strong (fine for me!). Great beer menu. 6 of us dined and most were pleased with most parts of the meal."

"We have been to Magnolia's twice. The first time, it was very good and had a really unique atmosphere: part steakhouse part romantic night away. We used it for the second part and it turned out to be a bit disappointing. To their credit, it was a busy night. The waiter seemed inconvenienced by us on several occasions when we asked for a side plate stating: "I'd have to go downstairs to get it". Well, go downstairs then! Appetizer was advertised as crispy oysters w/ sausage and had some sort of rotel and Velvetta on it. Oysters were delicious, but ruined by the salsa concoction on top. Shrimp&grits was actually shrimp over polenta with more of the salsa concoction smoothing it (advertised as sausage and ham). Kids running around w/o shoes"

"The Mill at Magnolia's is a must see. The Mill side is dark and cozy perfect for a romantic meal while the porch was light and airy. The service was quick, efficient and courteous. The homemade hash was excellent and I highly recommend the grilled meatloaf. The portion sizes were so generous we didn't have enough room to sample desserts, but there were plenty of choices. Overall we had a great time and are planning on returning to try other menu items."

"This was the 4th or 5th Easter Brunch we have had at Magnolia's at the Mill. It has become our Easter tradition to have Brunch there on Easter. The menu is almost the same every year but all the dishes served are wonderful and it is hard to leave not stuffed to the gills. Even our 2 very picky kids love the buffet and can always find things that they like there. We have visited there for a regular dinner also and the food and service are always top notch."

"It was a very nice meal, with fantastic service! The locally raised beef tasted delicious and the bacon was perfectly crispy on the smokehouse burger. My only complaint is that the wrong desert was brought out. I guess that just means we will have to come back again!"

"We've eaten at Magnolias several times and this was one of the best meals we've had there. The salmon was tasty and portions are sizeable (which, unfortunately, didn't leave room for any of the delicious sounding desserts). Will be back."

"Great restaurant for a special treat -- we will definitely return when we are in town. The food is excellent, atmosphere quietly cheerful, and the wait staff attentive. Filet mignon was particularly outstanding, cooked to perfection, served with fingerling potatoes and creamed spinach. The desserts were all hits -- the bread pudding received the most raves. The only downside was the ravioli, which, though delicious, was not hot, only slightly warm."

"We were a group of 20 for lunch. The staff put us upstairs in a private room. It was perfect. We could take as much time as we wanted. And it was quiet.
We had one server, and she was the best I have ever had. Her timing was just right, circulating with the champagne, not rushing us to order, etc.
We ordered from the lunch menu and the food was delicious, according to those at my table who ordered different things: crab cake sandwich, cobb salad, taco salad, lobster pasta, etc.
Our server wanted to be sure everyone had taken a picture of the cake before she served it. Very thoughtful.
We brought our own cake, and that was served with ice cream."

"Love, love, love Magnolias at the Mill and the sister restuarant, Tuscarora Mill. Living in Culpeper County means that it is a haul to get to either, but we often make the effort because they are both so worth it. There is an old mill in Fauquier county that could use some of their love..we would be their best customers!"
