Big City Tavern is a busy, vibrant restaurant reminiscent of the great urban taverns of Chicago, New York and Boston. A stylish, classic American restaurant, Big City offers a varied menu featuring dry aged steaks, burgers, fresh seafood, salads and fresh house-made pasta of the day. Some of the more popular dishes are the Pan Roasted Salmon with Tomato and the House-Made Charcuterie. The desserts are all enticing, all house made and all delicious. The extensive wine list emphasizes California varietals by the bottle or glass. With its magnificent grand bar always busy, Big City has a constant din of energy and conviviality. Big City offers outdoor sidewalk dining in the center of the action on Las Olas Blvd.
"This restaurant never disappoints...the food is consistently good...the service was very good...they have outdoor seating so it could be considered a "scenic" view restaurant if you like to people watch while eating on Las Olas. It's not really a romantic place but I have been there before with my wife and they have sat us at the large semi-circle booths which could sit up to 7 or 8 people and that could be considered a little bit romantic."

"This was my 2nd time at Big City, and my opinion is still high. The kitchen burnt my pizza, and our server handled it beautifully. We were also visited Twice by a manager after that, to make sure the 2nd pizza was good...and they comped our dessert. I'll be back!"

"Had dinner at Big City Tavern while visiting from out of town for a family occasion. The food and service were quite good, but the noise level was very, very high. We were originally seated inside, but the A/C was blasting and the noise was blaring and we could barely hear each other speak. We were able to move to a table outside, which was warmer but still a bit noisier than we would have liked, and it was also the restaurant's smoking area. It was fun to watch the street scene, but there was a lot of noisy car traffic (Memorial Day weekend) and it made conversation a bit difficult. The food was worth the visit, but I might try going on a week night. Great place for a party night out; not so great for a more intimate dinner."

"Awesome food! Get the scallops and risotto or the braised ribs in a double chocolate stout sauce. Kids loved their burger. Everything was cooked perfectly! Chose the outdoor tables the inside is way too dark. Excellent service! Would definitely come here again"

"Aside from the special flat bread, everything was quite disappointing. Food was under seasoned and just didn't taste very good. Will not return very soon."

"We sat inside because all of the outdoor tables were taken. The inside was dark, and the service was not the best. We waited about 10/15 minutes before someone even approached us with the menus (mind you it was Mother's Day), the restaurant was very busy. We went for a late lunch and the food was not great. It was regular pizza's, burgers and pasta. If you are looking for a very casual, burger and pizza place this might interest you."

"We tried this place on Mother's Day and were really impressed with the food. Their boneless beef shortrib was amazing as well as everything else we had. They have a good selection of seafood and wines by the glass as well. Service was great and all the employees appeared to be happy to be there which is great to see. We sat on the covered patio and enjoyed the people watching on Las Olas as well."

"Had a really nice dinner. Food was very well done and presented nicely. Meat, seafood and salad dishes were all very good. Service was attentive and accommodating. Very noisy but it was possible to have conversation at the table. Good (not great) wine list, but something for most tastes. Have been there several times and always very good. Will definitely go back. Dinner for four with drinks $140 plus tip."

"Very good food, & polite service from John, however EXTREMELY NOISY even on the terrace, So much so our server got half our order wrong cause he didn't hear us . In the end it all worked out & we enjoyed the visit overall."

"Good food, good drinks, good overall. I would definitely go back. Get the calamari appetizer but skip the charcuterie (not a good value and pretty boring). Skirt steak and chicken and waffles were our favorite entrees!"

"Big City Tavern was a busy place on Friday night but delivered on food and service. I wasn't too happy with being seated next to the server's station, but the quick service made up for the bad location. Our party of four tried the Key Lime martini (very good) and the Hummingbird (refreshing but not much flavor). Entrees were all very good and included the salmon, house salad and pizza. The fresh baked bread is delicious! The place was crowded and loud, which is to be expected on Las Olas on a Friday night in March. We have dined here before and I'm certain we will again."

"I recently hosted a party of 12. The noise level was awful, between terrible acoustics and horrible music with a disturbing loud blaring bass you could barely talk to the person directly next to you. Definitely not the place for a large party on a Saturday night!"

"Great experience. So pleased that we tried Rocco's the next night since it is also owned by Big Time Restaurant Group, which is a well oiled machine. Open something in Boston, please"

"approximately 2 months ago,we went here for the first time, and were pleasantly surprised. on this visit, the food was fine, had optimal outside seats,and................. aweful service. we're not about to indict the whole place, but our server was seemingly overwhelmed on a moderately quiet Wednesday evening. other servers seemed prompt and attentive.our's M.I.A. a great per centage of the time."

"As tourists, we did not know what to expect. Our local friend suggested BCT and we were not disappointed. The special hog snapper was excellent and was a fish I was not familiar with. My wife ordered the mussels appetizer as her entree and got more mussels than she could finish. Our waitress did a great job handling several tables that started about the same time. My only regret was not being able to eat outside."

"The restaurant was sweltering. Yes, there is a heatwave right now in South Florida, but the air cconditioning was ineffective. My scallops with resotto were a mushy mess that tasted like glue. This dish was the subject of rave reviews previously but was disappointing. The noise in the restaurant was deafening; I couldn't hear what my dinner partners were saying. It was a disappointing evening, and the restaurant provided poor value for the money."

"I'm never disappointed when I go to Big City Tavern. I ordered the scallops with oyster mushroom risotto and winter squash and have been thinking of it ever since. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the taste combination was outstanding. I loved every bite. I wasn't a huge fan of the muscles (to be truthful I am very picky about muscles - they need to be small and these were a bit big for my liking) but my friend loved them. The bread that came with them was fabulous though. And I'm not usually a fan of meatballs that aren't homemade but theirs were the best I've had that weren't my moms. The affogado was the perfect end to a wonderful meal - the biscotti wasn't authentic but a delicious spin on tradition. YUM!!"
