"We have been to AVO before and the experience was much better. It was Mother's Day, so they may have something to do with it. Our food took over an hour to get to the table. We had two 4 year olds with us and they were running out of steam at that point. I ordered an omelet and it was overdone for my taste. The grits are awesome. Highly suggest you get those if you go to brunch. Bloody Mary was great too, not too spicy. The manager came to our table twice so he was very aware of our situation. It is great for kids, and they have lovely outdoor seating. I would recommend and we will go back. Like I said, I just think they may have been overwhelmed because service and food has been much better."

"This was the second time I've taken a group to AVO and have been pleased with the food each time. My only complaints concerned the ambience (the tables pushed againt the front wall are a bit plain) and the noise level (there's not much acoustic treatment and when busy, it can get quite loud). But you go to a restaurant for the food - and AVO will not disappoint. They take great pride in the ingredients, preparation and presentation."

"We loved AVO so much at Sunday brunch that we went back for Sunday dinner. The staff are friendly, but not overbearing. The Sunday ha;f-price bottles of wine special gives you a chance to try wines that are a bit more pricey than you would normally order. The Salted Caramel Creme was amazing, but really all of the food was fantastic (bacon macaroni and cheese, tenderloin foie gras sliders, deviled eggs, pimento cheese burger). So much sounded good that we completely over-ordered at both visits just to be able to sample as much as possible. Thanks Brett!"

"My friend and I enjoyed two meals at AVO on the same day--brunch was spectacular as was dinner. The Sunday special of high price bottles of wine was a bonus and the wine list is quite extensive and delectable. Highly recommend and will be returning with friends soon! The manager, Brett, was a gem as was the bartender Justin!"

"The website sold me on this place. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and we were prepared to sit at the bar for a drink. Unfortunately, somehow instead of sitting at AVO's bar, they asked us to sit in at the Whiskey Bar, which is below AVO. It was not at all the atmosphere we were looking for. After a 30 minute wait, now 15 minutes past our reservation, I went to the hostess to see if we would be getting our table soon. We waited another 10 minutes before being seated. When we went upstairs to sit down we found the dining room to be 1/3 full and no one at the bar. My husband's steak, asked for med rare came out well done and that was all she wrote. They gave us the meal we didn't eat for free, including a bottle of wine."

"We had brunch at Avo, and there were not your typical brunch items on the menu. It was a collection of southern and traditional breakfast and lunch foods. I had a burger with a side of grits. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time, and the grits were delicious! I paired it with a pot of french press coffee and it was perfect. I would definitely go there again...maybe next time for dinner!"

"We had the absolute best time eating and lounging at Avo!! In fact, we were having so much fun that we opted to move to the lounge area after dinner to continue our conversation and drinks instead of heading out to the bars.
Our waiter, Brett, provided the best, most fun service we could have ever asked for and was able to make phenomenal dinner and drink suggestions. Your entire staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party with our pre-dinner lingerie party, dinner and post-dinner plans. Everyone I spoke with along the way was nothing but courteous and extremely helpful.
We will definitely be back to Avo and will suggest this restaurant to any of our friends looking for a unique dining experience!

"We had a table of 8 and it was great to be able to have a reservation. The waiter was good and very attentive. The appetizers were good. The roasted pecans were delicious and still warm and not overly salted. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I was not crazy about the hamburger type sliders but the meat was good. For the prices, the portion sizes seemed somewhat small. Overall a good experience but I'm not sold on the food."

"We were a group of family who needed to visit and the noise level was so high that the oldest of us was completely left out of the conversation. That was a pity as we need to connect with her as much as possible and that was one big reason we were eating together.

"We had a great dinner! I ordered the Santa Maria Steak Frites and my Girlfriend had the Grilled prime Fillet. The Meat was delicious and almost melted in my mouth. We typically share meals when we go out and I am glad that we did. The Grilled Prime Fillet was amazing and would recommend that dish to anyone; that is in the mood for a great cut of meat! Wine list was on the high side, and I don't quite remember which one we got but it was good as far as wines go, and paired well with our meals. The server was not pushy or lurking over us but was attentive. Overall, we had a great meal and would go back in the future."
