"Not a bad experience. However we have gone to The Golden Lamb for years for the fried chicken dinner. This Mother's day the food was not up to par. Mashed potatoes runny and vegetables were piled on top of the potatoes making it impossible to add gravy without separating potatoes and veggies."

"We visited Th Golden Lamb for Mother's Day and had an outstanding experience. The food was delicious and the service was attentive and not over-bearing. "For years we have gone to the Golden Lamb for Mother's Day. The food was always a good value and the ambience quaint. The prices this year have gone up substantially. $29 for three course turkey dinner is not a good value. The first course was to be shared by four people but was barely enough for two. The salad was acceptable and the dinner portions were adequate. Dessert was extra. If they had included dessert it would have been an OK value. Without, it was way overpriced."

"I have had the opportunity to dine at the GL on a number of occasions over the years, and it has never disappointed. I very much enjoyed their prime rib on this past occasion but their fired chicken is great as well. For the local area there are not too many places where one find a spot where a number of well-known historical figures visited that were documented. It provides fascinating insight into the significance of Lebanon as a national crossroads at an earlier era."

"We went here for a mother's day dinner on Saturday before Mother's Day. It was a great place with some great food. Some people were really dressed up in the restaurant while others were dressed casual. It is a nicer place, so jeans with holes are inappropriate. Reservations are highly recommended because I'm not sure there were any open tables, without reservations. I got the prime rib and it was so good, tender and huge. The appetizer trays were very good as well and were full of things that you can't find anywhere else."

"Frankly, I think the Golden Lamb just gets better and better. The tomato basil soup was a great warm-up for a cold Saturday, my Mom loves the lamb meatloaf, my wife adores the brunch dishes, and I think the fried chicken is the best you can find. And the desserts get more amazing every time we go. The new Maker's Mark Bourbon Bread Pudding is delicious, but it could use a little more bourbon flavor. They don't miss a beat!"

"If you like history and want to see a true gem then visit the Golden Lamb. This is a really cool hotel and restaurant that has a fantastic history behind it. It was well worth the climb to the 4th floor to see all of the rooms and learn more about Lebanon and this region.The food was very good and the service was very nice."

"I had filet mignon and my husband had salmon. Both were excellent. I thought the service was a bit slow even though it was not crowded. The waitress never checked on our water which I would have liked to have had refilled. The atmosphere with the antiques was special. We went to the bar (Black Horse Tavern) after dinner. The music by a guitar player was very soothing. I definitely would recommend both the restaurant and bar for special dinner dates."

"All the food was excellent except I was disappointed with the prime rib. It was the fattiest piece of meat I have ever seen served and it really was not that tasty. My spouse had the lamb and was very pleased with that dish.

"Waitress served our iced tea which was supposed to be un sweet but was sweetened. We VERY politley asked her to bring unseet tea and she argued it was. It was not and she finally brought unsweet tea.

"We took our daughter and her family, spouse and 4 grandchildren for Easter Brunch. Everything was ready for us. There were baby chicks and ducks for the children to see and the Easter Bunny visited them. The food was served in great time and was very good with a nice variety on the brunch menu. "Our meals were good, but nothing outstanding, fried chicken, trout (trout was the only fish on the menu, but salmon was served. There was no mention of the substitution) ham and pork loin. I felt all entries were a bit pricy for the amount you were served. Drinks and dessert were additional. Service was good, but the server was obviously very busy and not especially friendly. He added nothing to the dining experience. For the number of people in the restaurant, it was relatively quiet and there was no problem hearing conversations at our table. After our meal, we enjoyed touring the hotel rooms on the upper levels and spent time in the gift shop. The Golden Lamb was a great place to dine with family on a holiday."

"I have been in the habit of taking my 97-year-old mother there for special occasions. She has a cumbersome walker but the Lamb staff is good about opening the special handicap door for us so she doesn't have to go up the steps into the lobby. Usually on holidays they have valet parking (I am a good tipper for that service)... which is such a help when there is just one of me. They did not have valet parking at Easter so I had to leave my mom unattended and park the car two blocks away... and reverse the process picking up the car. She gets scared when she is left alone, so I will not be taking her there anymore for our holidays dinners. It's too bad -- it's one of the few restaurants where she remembers going with my dad..."

"My wife and I have an appreciation for history and this restaurant is very cool. This was our first visit after hearing about this place growing up near the area. It was a private and quiet setting, most likely because it was a Tuesday. The food was great and timely. It was our anniversary and I only mentioned it when booking on Open Table, not once during our evening, and they brought us a free dessert. Very classy, just like the establishment."

"Every time we eat at the Golden Lamb we are impressed by the food. I had the pot roast-out of this world. My husband had the salmon--delicious. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Great service, very historical and interesting setting, and the best food. Definitely recommend!!"

"Our group visits the Golden Lamb every year after attending the Warren County Historical Society Quilt Show. The menu offers appetizers to salads to sandwiches or more traditional entrees, so everyone can find something they like, even gluten-free me! Not always easy with large parties. Our service was friendly and as efficient as one would imagine on a busy day. We thoroughly enjoyed our luncheon, especially the outstanding desserts. We'll be back. Was also easy to make a change in our reservation and I appreciated the e-mail confirmations. Thanks!"
