"I am had an enjoyful date with a long time friend. I requested a table w/out much thoroughfare as I recently had foot surgery and the host was extremely accommodating and even wished me well. Prime rib bites were cooked medium well--I prefer medium-rare, but very tasty. Our main meal were a prime rib and beef medallion. Food was very good. The service was outstanding. Our waitress had suggestions for appetizers and entrees, as well as cocktails and wine. Her suggestions were very appreciated. She was such a delight the entire time. Afterwards, my date and I enjoyed the company of the bartender. Great first time dining there but certainly not our last!!"

"We used to love the Butchershop but the last 2 experiences we have had there have been really bad. The crab cake appetizer was good but the filet and ribeye were horrible. They were completely flavorless. We actually had to ask for steak sauce to even make them worth eating. Really sad that the quality has gone down so much. We had a $25 gift card that we actually just gave away because we are definitely not going back."

"Not sure I wanted to dine in the 'old Chicago' venue but was pleasantly surprised at the charm of the place! "Our group of five women have lunch there once a month and one of the ladies has regular family dinners there. Their sign states that they open at 11:00 a.m. for lunch. We had reservations for 11:45 a.m.; however, due to some commuting arrangements, we arrived at 11:00. When I gave the manager (??) my name for reservations, he said, "your reservations aren't until 11:45. I responded, "I realize that however we like to chat and have some wine before we order lunch." He said, "we don't have anyone to serve you yet." I asked if we could just be seated in the lounge area and if we could have a bottle of wine and five glasses which he did. Before we left, I told him how rude he was. He apologized. If they open at 11:00, they should be prepared."

"This was our 2nd visit to the Butcher Shop which indicates total satisfaction with our dining experience. We drove in from Palm Desert(2 1/2 hrs. each way) that also adds to how important it was to dine at the restaurant. The food from start to finish is very fresh, tasty and presented most attractively. Service is impeccable including the bus boys. To top all this off, are very modest prices for the quality. We will be b-a-a-ck!"

"I made a reservation, but still waited over 30mins to get seated. We got called to get seated and had to wait another 5 mins to finally get a "special table". This is our 2nd time coming here because the 1st time was a decent experience, we came after 8pm without a reservations and got seated right away. the front people are not very welcoming. a feel of old school establishment, " you came here to dine, we didn't asked you to" so we're not coming back. "DI haven't been to the Butcher Shop in over 25 yrs. due to a bad experience there in the mmid 80s. I decided to give them another try and to my surprise I saw the inside tastefully decorated, the service was top knotch andmy ribeye was cooked to perfection. I went back 3 days later and had their off the charts rack of lamb. This is now my new fav steakhouse :-)"

"This is a great restaurant to relax and unwind. The service is attentive but not intrusive. There are various rooms in the restaurant that make is seem cozy and quiet. "As usual, we always enjoy our experience at Butcher Shop. Hubbie's porterhouse was juicy and flavorful. The chicken roulade was also good. The salads have slowly suffered over time and they are okay.
I must bring something to the staff's attention. The bartender has a ..shall we say, a voice that carries. He is loud. We were there on Sunday and the bartender's conversation carried loudly into the dining room. I only heard his voice and I could hear what he was energetically saying. It detracts from the dining experience. He just should just be made aware, not to get him into trouble, I'm sure. Also, the before dinner drinks were weak, weaker than in any of our past visits (which have been about 50). Katie is excellent, as usu"

"Service was friendly, however, I felt as though I was in a coffee shop instead of a steakhouse. Appetizer platter "prime rib bites" were untrimmed and several "bites" were pure fat/gristle. Shrimp-cocktail style shrimp were warm with an unpleasant floppy texture. They brought out two replacements that were only slightly better. Salads were acceptable ... Nothing special here. Asked for fresh ground pepper and the waitress gave the grinder a couple of twists and walked off without asking if that was enough. I7 ounce filet mignon. Nice char, medium rare. It had been seasoned and was a bit too salty for my taste. Also ordered the panko crusted chicken roulade which sounded way better than it was."

"Pros: Solid good quality steak and chop house, reasonable wine prices, very nice interior decor paneled walls and warm, rich lighting and atmosphere, very good service. We had a nice time.
Cons: I like lively, but don't sit near the (several) loud cackling or yelling large groups. They helped move us but at least on Saturday this is an 'ebullient' place where you need to lean in to hear your partner. The wine list doesn't have dates of vintage because there is nothing more than 2-3 years old."

"Our waitress was really slow even though she had like 3 tables only and I asked for my steak (filet mignon ) to be cook well done and to butterfly it cause we know is thick and they didn't it was rare so I send it back and the waitress took it to the kitchen and Cook it more but they burn it it was already burn the first time so the second time it was so burn that I couldn't eat it and I had to send it back the waitress didn't even asked me if I wanted a new one. Very disappointed of this place I go there once or twice a month now I don't think I'll be back. Very, very upset."

"We went for Valentines Day and ordered the special. It came with two small lobster tails, 4 over cooked shrimp and one small slice of prime rib (good thing we both like our meat cooked the same way) and one very average piece of cake. It was not clear in the description that the prime rib would be a shared item. I am an avid restaurant week participant and the quality of this meal was not close to a $40 single person $80 couple price point."
