At Wildwood, enjoy multiregional barbeque in a rustic urban setting, inspired by smoke shacks across United States. Led by ‘BigLou’ Elrose, a former NYPD motorcycle cop, Wildwood is a brisket and bourbon temple of meaty goodness, originally designed by David Rockwell, and sports-watching destination. The 100-foot long open-seating bar area is perfect for sharing a bucket of beer with buddies and catching a game on one of 10 HDTVs, while the large airing dining room can accommodate groups of all sizes.
BBQ staples like Kansas City baby back ribs and Texas smoked brisket are crowd pleasers for a night out with buddies, big games or celebrations. The Caribbean Jerk wings, Wildwood nachos and Pittmaster Pigout Platter hit the plate in huge portions and wow every time. Wash down your dish with an interesting craft beer selection, or a pint of the featured “One and Done” keg. Cocktail and wine lists are carefully crafted to pair with the menu’s smoky flavors.
"The father in question is not American, and we do not live in the US, so Wildwood Barbeque was a great choice. The short ribs were perfect. The boneless chicken wings were succulent and flavorful. The Cajun shrimp were really fantastic. All the beers were perfect alongside the dinner choices. The plates were filled enough to still take a third of each portion in a doggy bag, so not grossly overfilled as in days gone by.
The desserts though leave a lot to be desired, I must say. And the coffee...just don't go there.
The staff there seemed very distracted during our visit. This is an across-the-board observation. No one seemed focused as truly professional staff would be.
Overall, we liked the place. Really good food."

"OK, I've eaten at Wildwood BBQ many times and have always liked the ribs... Not so much this time around... it was awful! I ordered the special "Burbon Memphis Ribs"... it was SOOOO dried! The waiter sold it as "a between wet & sticky coated over some dry rub". That was NOT what I got. It was burnt and dried.
Still gave them a 3 star rating because everything eles was good and met our expectation. Although it would have been 4 stars if the 'fried pickles & peppers' were less done... had this before and it was really delish. it was definitely an off nite for the restaurant."

"You can't beat the location, for starters, and the barbecue is amazing. The sides are a real ripoff, but if you get one of the combo platters, it comes with a couple. They're very VERY small, however, hardly enough for a few bites. The barbecue chicken is amazing, even better than the ribs, and the grits are a must!"

"Food and service were very good. Better than I expected for a chain restaurant . The watermelon salad was excellent and I like that u can buy pulled pork by the pound and get a little bit of everything"

"Sadly my search for authentic BBQ will continue in NYC. the server also threw away all most of my food that I asked her to box. It was real sad that I paid $25 for a platter and only got 1/3 of the meal :(. The fries were old, corn is really good. Chopped salad was amazing!!"

"Came here with a friend before going to the movies. We really wanted BBQ but were worried about taking on such a heavy meal... luckily this place has a great ribs sampler with dry rubs, so we can just add out own sauce. We added sides of green beans, mashed potatoes, and a house salad. The meal was perfect for two... plus drinks of course. We didn't have time for dessert but will be back! The service was great and seating comfortable. We'll definitely be back."

"It's kind of strange to go to a BBQ place and order a salad, but I think the salads on the lunch menu are terrific. I'm a big fan of the Stagecoach Salad. There's a nice blend of crunchy things and green things (including avocado) to satisfy any taste. There's also an Asian-inspired salad that is quite good. Naturally their pulled pork and all things meat are great, but the salads..."

"We booked a reservation to bring our friend from Canada to some awesome barbeque in NYC and we loved it! First of all walking in the door, the host staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We got seated pretty much immediately even though our third wasn't there yet, which I love because in New York that almost never happens. We had a great server named Nick who was very knowledgable about the menu, and we ordered almost one of everything on the menu, and in that hunt Nick was able to give us accurate and delicious descriptions. The one thing that kept my review from being 5 stars for food were the "cookie dough s'mores". The description said cookie dough twice and I received fully baked cookies instead which was a little disappointing."

"We went on a very slow Sunday and the place only had two tables filled. We waited for over thirty minutes for our food and other tables were served before us. We asked what had happened but was not given any reason for the long wait. I think our waiter must not have pressed "enter" on the screen and maybe the kitchen was not even cooking anything. The food was luke warm when it got to the table. The server and manager were warm and friendly. They are very kid friendly so I liked that a lot but their kid menu was the usual fried and greasy food mess. No mini BBQ sandwiches. Kids like other things besides chicken fingers and fries. I did like the ambience. I can see it's good for families or a bunch of friends out for a night too."

"Seems like a nice lively bar to meet for a beer and a bite before heading out for the night. Good atmosphere though and the service was great. The Chicken was good according to my fellow diner. The Wildwood chopped salad was nicely dressed and a generous size. The guacalmole was a little dissapointing with far too many of those dry chips and not enough dip to handle it. Wine comes in a short glass which is always dissapointing. Might be unfair judging Wildwood as a foodie spot though (maybe we should have tried the ribs to get the full experience)."

"I made reservations at Wildwood for my birthday but I ended up have more guests than expected. They were incredibly accommodating. The food was great, and it didn't take long. I never had to worry about anything and that was the best birthday gift of all."

"Food was really good, cute place and prices were reasonable. Service was a bit on the slow side considering the restaurant was not very busy but not enough to complain about. Would definitely recommend to anyone."

"The minute you walk in and see the crowd at the bar and catch the smell of BBQ from the kitchen, you know you're going to be in for a great evening. The place can be noisy and "sports bar" atmosphere, but the service is excellent, the portions huge and some the best BBQ and fried chicken in Manhattan. One of my favorites."

"Apricot chicken is great, as was the bbq chicken wings to start. Brisket was great too, but make sure you get the most (as opposed to lean). Just a great place that is very consistent for solid bbq."

"We come to Wildwood Barbecue every year during the March Madness. It's always a lot of fun. This time, however, we felt like they were rushing us out. We had barely finished our appetizers and the main course was immediately brought out. If we want fast food, we'll go to McDonalds."

"BBQ is definitely the strength of this well located restaurant. Servings are quite large. Crowding and bookings of groups sometimes create deafening noise at night. Lunch is more relaxing. Try the ribs, and go St Louis."

"Was able to reserve this place after every BBQ place in NYC was booked! I had never heard of it before so there were no expectations. The drink and food menu is extensive without being overwhelming. There is nothing on the menu that you will not have recognized if you are a frequent BBQer. The service was good, attentive but not intrusive. The food was typical tasty BBQ."

"I am a bit of a BBQ snob and Wildwood was a letdown. The ribs were overdone, dry and tough. They were like pork jerky. The pulled pork was also dried out. The grilled pork bellies were great. The service was friendly and prompt. I was looking for a sauce to moisten the pulled pork and the sauces on the table were not inspiring. I prefer a creamy cole slaw with BBQ and theirs is vinegar based. I doubt I will go back."

"Celebrated my fathers 69th birthday - and he was smiling ear to ear the whole time. I couldnt have asked for a better time for him. Our family had a great time eating a variety of different delicious items the menu offered. We loved it all from the cornbread to the ribs to the wine and desert at the end - we were all stuffed but oh so happy. The staff as well made the experience a great one - very accommodating, attentive and friendly. The "noise" level was fitting for the restaurant and it wasnt distracting at all. I told my dad that next year we have to do it bigger for his 70th... he said he wants to come back to wildwood."

"The experience would have been perfect except for the service. We spent over $400.00 on the food and drinks (8 of us at the table) and we waited 20 minutes before I had to ask one waiter to find our waiter so that we could order coffee and desserts and waited another 15 minutes for him to appear. All in all, if I had to say anything to a friend, I would tell them going in that they should know that the food is great and the wait staff could potentially be horrible. I do not know if it was just our waiter, or just a bad night for him. He was a very polite, upbeat fun guy who knew his job well.....whenever he came to our table.
I have had the experience and spent quite a bit of money but I probably won't return."

"I took my girlfriend of two years to this place on Valentine's day a couple of days ago. I had the sweet home Alabama chicken. OMG, The best food I had since carmines. Great place for people that cant decide on what type of food they like. This is the perfect place for chicken, seafood, beef and pork lovers. My girlfriend is a very hard person to please when it comes down to food. If she loved this place, I know you would too."
