Ruby Foo’s brings the bold flavors of Beijing, Bangkok and Tokyo to Times Square in a big-box setting that is as boisterous as it Broadway neighborhood. "Ruby Foos was the sight of our graduation lunch, and it was a great choice. The food was delicious, and my teenage sons devoured everything. The only drawback was upon our entrance, where we were given 2 menus for 5 people, and the menus were missing an entire page. Also, the server just handed us our place settings, instead of setting up the table for us!! Our server did give us a complimentary champagne toast, which was very nice! 9 out of 10 stars!!"

"Arrived on time for our reservation. "Walk-ins" who arrived while we were waiting were seated before us. Confusion when it finally became time to seat us (managers correcting each other with different table numbers 4 times).
Menu seems smaller than it used to be (less mains). More choice of appetizers than mains. Alcoholic beverages had to be asked for multiple times before they arrived. Food was slow to arrive (slow enough that the manager came to me to apologize preemptively rather than waiting for us to complain so positive points for that detail) giving us worry that we would be done and out before our play was set to start.
Will still keep on my list of places to eat when in the city, but definitely knocked down a few notches."

"Restaurant is part of a big well run conglomerate of fine restaurants. Food is tasty, service is prompt. Hard to choose between the imaginative sushi and hot meals such as pad Thai. We had both and they didn't disappoint. Good portion size on pad Thai and salads."

"Our experience was wonderful - only one complaint - we mentioned to the waiter numerous times that we had tickets to a 7:00 show and he needed to be reminded to "move along" since we didn't want to be late. In the end, we only left the restaurant at 6:55 and had to "run" to the theater. He was a good waiter otherwise - offered recommendations and answered all our questions."

"Had dinner with a group of 7 on a Monday night. We shared Dim Sum Apps which everyone was pleased with. The Wasabi Crusted Salmon was very good as was a large sushi platter that was shared. Service was friendly and attentive. Place was a bit dark - not loud (not many diners on a Monday night). Dinner was pricey but to be expected in the Times Square area."

"This was our 2nd trip to Ruby Foos and I have to say it was just as amazing as our first time! In the hustle of NYC, I was brought her by a group of my local friends I am from upstate NY. I was amazed by the quality of food. Such a cute place, staff are gorgeous and so nice! If I could eat here 3 times a day I would. The sushi is out of this world and our favorite calamari we downed 3 bowls easily between 3 of us. So delish and definitely worth it."

"Ruby Foo's....although in Times Square....is actually a pretty good go-to place. It has an Asian flair with great sushi rolls, sushimi etc, as well as duck, pork buns, pad thai, and AWESOME coconut sticky rice, amongst other delicious things. Great music is pumped throughout and it's a perfect place for big groups or a romantic dinner for two. You don't feel like a tourist when you're inside, and you don't feel like you're in the middle of Times Square. This restaurant is one of my faves."

"We arrived late & they didn't give us a hard time. The hostess showed us to a table rather quickly and although it was a Saturday night & the place was packed the staff was very agreeable. We shared 2 rolls,ribs, pork dumplings and Peking duck. We ordered too much and really didn't need the duck although it was excellent. The drinks were good, no complaints."

"I have dined here several times over the past 8 years. The menu options have decreased from my recollection. I ordered the cod entree, which had tiny slivers of mushroom from perhaps one mushroom, although it states mushrooms as an ingredient. The cod was lightly battered (not stated), in a sauce that rendered the entire dish inedible due to the level of salty assault to the palate. My dsughter stated her sushi was fine, my son enjoyed his duck. My husband left hungry even after ordering an appetizer and an entree, the chicken tacos, which were so small that they would usually be considered an appetizer. The service was very conscienciously thorough after we notified the waiter of food allergies."

"Ruby Foo's is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. It is a cavernous restaurant in Manhattan standards so space between tables, room to breathe, with cool lighting fixtures, and Chinese faux objet d'art, comfy booths, a huge sushi bar and the nicest servers, hostess, busboys around. Their kung pao chicken is second to none. Add their amazing potstickers and dish of one of their specialty rices and you have a yummy meal that comes beautifully arranged, piping hot and mouth wateringly good. When I get a yen for Chinese food, that is where I go."

"I had a terrible experience at Ruby Foos.The service was horrible!! It took 40 mins for my salmon entree to be served. And we informed the waiter that we had to be at a show at 7. He also gave us the wrong drinks.. white wine instead of prodeco.. and we had to ask a manager to find my entree. By the time it arrived it was 6:45. I choked it down and we paid the check. It was a very disappointing meal-- and neither the waiter nor the manager apologized. Never again!"

"Food was good - especially the sushi. Noise level very high - due to music and loud patrons competing with the pounding music. Too loud for our liking - a family of 4 with 2 adult children celebrating the birthday of our 30 year old son. Had frequented the now closed Upper West Side Ruby Foo's a few times in past years and liked that much more. Waitress seemed too busy - nice person who tried to be helpful but had too much to do. When we tried to get her attention a few times she was too distracted and couldn't hear us saying "Excuse me" and she was only a few feet away. Would we go back? No."

"Very good food. Fun atmosphere, although cafeteria-like. I chose this restaurant for the children's menu. This is a great place to take kids before or after a show. They provided activities and games for the kids while we waited.
The service was a bit dissappointing. As with most restaurants the pre-show reservations begin around 6, 6:30 and the staff seemed overwhelmed. It literally took the waitress 30 minutes to tell us that the particular bottle of Sake that we ordered was not available. We asked to see the wine list again. She returned 10 minutes later to say she was on her way to get the wine list. We almost said forget it, but really wanted a drink so told her just to bring us anything similarly priced."

"The coconut rice is amazing! The sushi speacial (mango salsa/spicy tuna) was EXCELLENT please make it a menu item! This place tends to be extremely crowded/pack, but service was very quick/organized/and flexible to diners with theater plans."

"This is absolutely a tourist spot and while the food was very good, the service was horrible. Drinks came after appetizers, half of the food didn't get there until after the first half was finished and the group fried rice arrived when we were just about ready to get our check. Really too bad that the service was as bad as it was because the food was quite good."

"The food is good, so if you need to grab a bite to eat in Times Square before a show it's as good a choice as any in that immediate area. It's clear, though, that the primary objective is to get as many people through that restaurant as possible and as a result the service is not great."
