Dos Caminos brings the vibrant spirit of Mexico City to New York City. "I've been to other Dos Caminos locations and loved the food, but the Park Ave venue was a disappointment. Both of our meals were undercooked and cold, which didn't make for a very pleasant dining experience. I was surprised because I've come to expect better from this restaurant."

"The food was overpriced and not particularly good, except for the guacamole which was fresh and flavorful. The service was a little too good when we arrived -- two waiters hovering over us -- but once the food came, we practically had to stand on the table to get someone's attention when we were ready for the check."

"I've been to all branches of this restaurant and one thing you can say is they are always bustling with efficiency and the food and drink are always consistently good.
My one issue is always the speed at which they want you to eat and leave. It was a Tuesday night, fairly early for this restaurant and the place was half-empty but still it felt rushed. There were 8 of us, one in from overseas who we see infrequently - we did not want to feel the whoosh of speed every time the waitress circled the table."

"The guacamole was excellent and the waiter was very accommodating in preparing it exactly as we wished. The fish tacos were wonderful as was the chicken fajita.

"I've been to the SoHo location down on Houston St for a friend's birthday party and I was impressed with the food. This location at Park Avenue was a pleasant surprise since the decor was different and the actual restaurant is a lot larger; it felt more upscale and I loved the lighting fixtures and overall atmosphere. My Asada tacos were perfect, not really as spicy as they claimed they would be, but then again I'm extremely tolerant of any spicy food anyway. Definitely get the guac for the table; it's excellent and comes with three different sauces. As for drinks, the mango margarita on the rocks was on point. Always get it with salt of course."

Starting with the drinks, they were average, the Picante drink I ordered was supposed to be spiced with habanero SYRUP?
The guacamole was too salty.
For the entrée a friend ordered mahi mahi fish tacos which he said were "OK." 3 tacos for 17.50 and they were not bad, ok! My dish was the Rib Eye Steak Alambre, which was a very good sized portion, but the steak was chewy and that being medium rare? The only tasty item was the tuna-chino latino-the spicy tuna ceviche."

"Bar. Asked for beer selection. Instead of listing what they have, bartender points to a wall of beers of maybe a dozen that's not visible from where I am seated. Also bartender didn't even serve the beer in front of me, let alone ask if I wanted in glass. Instead he put the beer down on the rubber rim of bar tables.
Table. Staff weren't attentive, pushed for more expensive drinks. What really annoyed me was that because their tables are laid out in tight space. One person can walk by comfortably. As guest, I expect the staff to move out of your way. Not so at Dos Caminos. Some staff kept walking by and even asked I move out of way. This was annoying me because I had to leave my table frequently to get my friends and for restroom"

"I work close by and have eaten at Dos Caminos a few times for lunch and have never had anything but great food. My wife is a foodie and has never been there and it was her birthday so I took her there. Once again, it was amazing, from start to finish. From the Margaritas to the appetizers to the meals to the desserts. We have been Rosa Mexicana groupies for many years but Dos Caminos is a step above, especially the secret King Crab Guacamole which you have to ask for."

"We attended this restaurant on the 5th May a kind of mexican festival day in America, website stated live marriachi band, wasn't one, just a man and a CD player. But still had a very vibrant atmosphere, and cocktails were very good. As for food was very disappointed, one of party ordered a chicken dish but the meat that came was more like pork with fat running through it.. The rest of the food we ordered was very bland and not worth the money we paid. To end it all we weren't even offered dessert we just got the bill thrown at us after finishing our mains. May be a good place for drinks and atmosphere but would definately not recommend the food. Was very disappointed as all the reviews I read before attending were good."

"I've been to Dos Caminos twice and really loved the food both times. The carnitas tacos are exceptional and are reasonably priced. I never like when the waiter tries to force over-priced guacamole on you when you first enter, but it's so good that I generally don't mind the extra cost. Overall great place for lunch or dinner."

"If you plan to take an early reservation (7:30pm), be prepared to have a TON of kids at the restaurant. (and not all of them were well behaved and yes, babies were crying.) Its not what I am used to in my NYC dining circle. Be warned."

"A great experience even if you're not a Mexican food lover. On a Friday night this place was more or less packed, a sign of good eats to come despite of course being in a great locale on Park Ave. The feel definitely almost could have been like a lounge with the lively music and dim lighting set off by individual candles at each table which give you that almost private feel at your table. Guacamole with crab meat,sign me up!!! Accompanied with the freshest tortilla chips I've ever had, had me almost canceling my dinner order to continue stufingf my face on just chips and dip. For the main entree my girlfriend and I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and scallops; great, great, and awesome. Go to Dos Caminos!"

"No negatives. There was absolutely nothing wrong our meal. Service from DJ was spectacular and just the right blend of friendliness and attentiveness. His support staff was on top of everything. DJ's tequila recommendation was right on the mark, as were his appetizer suggestions. This is a waiter who knows his menu and deserves tremendous praise for making the evening exceptional. While my main entrée was delicious, I was missing any vegetable, which would have been a nice addition to the smoked brisket. I will definitely return, but with more people so we can try more dishes! Thanks"

"The food was not well prepared. I've had better Mexican at take away places in Manhattan. For the price being asked more care should be given to the food. The service was indifferent. 10 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink. 15 minutes for the drinks to come - and then they were wrong. They kept trying to clear our food before we were done with it. We ordered dessert and it took 20 minutes to come. Our waiter was disinterested (at best) with giving us a nice evening."

"I frequent Dos Caminos almost every month and have always had good service to go along with the good food. Not this time - long wait times for drinks; the busboy wanted to take my dish away before I was finished; promised extra tortillas which didn't come. It wasn't exceptionally busy. I guess the wait staff must've had a hardy St. Patrick's celebration the night before."
