"I can't say enough about the friendly, inviting, great service I received, esp. As a lone diner. And even moreso when I was shockingly unsatisfied with the fish dish I ordered. Thankfully, they were so generous as to replace it with the pork filet with apple-potato puree - actually the highlight of the dish. The kale salad was light and delicious. The espresso came with a tasy almond biscotti and small disk of chocolate. My only diappointment was that I expected. More flavorful entree."

"After hearing nothing but raves about Tigelleria from friends, I recently took a colleague and some clients there for lunch. Unfortunately, our experience was rather uneven. The service was knowledgeable and cordial, but slow. The highlight of the meal was the freshness of the ingredients, which were bursting with natural flavor. The steak ordered by my client was a major disappointment. He ordered the steak medium-rare, and it was brought out decidedly medium. This miscue was very apparent to my client, who is a professional chef himself, and a culinary academy graduate. The server agreed that the steak was overcooked, and he sent it back. However, when he brought out a new steak, it was medium-well - even more overcooked."

"Rather than bore one and all with a list of what I ordered (party of four) suffice to say every dish has good flavour, was not over cooked, was not cold , not scalding hot. Good use of fresh herbs, good meat selection and accommodating service,

"Tigelleria has a good assortment of authentic Italian dishes to try. Make sure to start off with one of there Italian meat samplers. Then move on to the home made pasta dishes.

"Didn't seem to have organization. No greeter at the door. Long wait for the first appearance of our waiter. Food was brought out while our appetizer dishes were still on the table, so we had to clear the appetizer dishes to make room for the food. Brandy peppercord sauce was not very flavorful. Friends swordfish was excellent. It was not a bad experience, but I don't want to go back either."

The menu was extensive; they let us choose from their dinner menu in addition to their lunch specials. My family went on and on about how delicious their beef courses were. The portions were on the small side but PLENTY and probably the amounts that are recommended for a healthier waistline. Next time i'd like to try their Fava Polenta dish. It looked good b/c veg. w/protein. The desserts were fantastic and rare ie the "salame" is never available in other establishments. Try the "Meringe..".It was excellent. Priceshigh end but organic and "free trade products" are not inexpensive. Can't wait to return!"

"We started with bread with three spreads. Then came the freshest salads - I particularly liked kale in among the greens. Then I had pork which was tender and flavorful. "We always love this restaurant however our experience got off to a somewhat shaky start. Our 8:15pm table for six was "accidentally" given away to someone else so when we arrived they didn't have our reservation. However they quickly made a space for us and accommodated our group. The food, wine and overall experience didn't disappoint. I like the wide selection of Italian dishes that are out of the ordinary and very authentic!"

"Very good accommodating to my food requirements, initially the waitress was a bit confused. The service was poor though and I had to ask for things like a fork and salt and sat there a while my husband had his food already. Two different people came over and brought us the wrong order two times as well and they obviously weren't quite organized. The food, when it finally came, was very very good. They were very busy. I loved howcThey allowed you to linger and didn't rush you out of there as well as serve the normal not supersize portions. I wish they didn't bring the bread before the meal it would ave reminded me more of our whole evening long dinners In Europe."

"We arrived at exactly our reserved time and were told to take a walk because no tables were available. We came back 15 minutes later and were told the same message. After a bit past a half hour, we were finally seated. The food was mediocre and the bill worse than astronomical. I paid for all three of us. My son and daughter-ni-law like the place - it was his second visit, and her third. I will not be back."

"Restaurant has a "French country" feel to it - very nicely decorated, but also very comfortable and quiet. The food is excellent and the menu has a surprising amount of choices for both vegetarians and meat-lovers for such a small restaurant. This is not an inexpensive meal, but definitely worth it because the quality of the food is so high. Families are welcomed as well, which really makes this a neighborhood gem!"

"I had lunch with a friend there .........and had not been there before for lunch. We each had a spinach salad and a small glass of wine. The spinach was fresh, tender but overall........not very tasty ! It needed more seasonings and/or dressing!
Also........the wine list is limited and the wines expensive.

"Great pasta, appetizers, charcuterie and desserts. Big wine list with lots of italian wines, most are available by the glass. Really great place with good food. It gets cramped, so be sure to get a reservation."

"I've been here twice and both times have been astounded by the food and quality of service. This time, the dessert stood out (affogato, which is simple, but they made it especially delicious). My companion's dessert (tiramisu) was amazing as well!"

"Great food and wine in an unpretentious atmosphere! This is a special place with a wonderful authentic Italian menu. Wine list is varied and offers a wide selection for every palate. Would highly recommend! We enjoy Tigelleria each time we go!"

"This was our second time coming to this restaurant and it again pleased all our senses. The food was well finely prepared and the service and ambiance supported the food well. I certainly would make this a top recommendation to anyone asking for a new Bay Area dining experience."
