City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill - Westbury
City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill offers a varied menu including delicious hearth baked pizza, dry aged steaks, housemade fresh pasta and seafood. "The food was very good - I had the sea bass & it was wonderful! My husband ordered from the twilight menu, which has some of the same dishes as the regular menu at a lower cost. He enjoyed his steak as well. The wine list is also great. The service is friendly and attentive. Overall, we had a good experience. My only issue with this restaurant is the noise level; we had a banquette near the windows, all the way across from the bar, but it was really loud."

"A bit disappointed in the menu at city cellar. I read some amazing reviews of the taste of the food but trying the braise of lamb and long duck were just bland. These dishes were over priced and did not leaving my palette in awe. There is an amazing wine list and very affordable. Shrimp cocktail and calamari were delicious. However the entrees need to be spiced up."

"My wife and I arrived ten mins early and were seated in 20 mins. Not that bad for a saturday evening. We had a nice table for two in the main area with almost every table in sight taken. Our drink order was taken promptly and shortly after another server took our dinner order. We began with a ceasar salad and lettuce wedge from the ala carte menu. Both were fresh and tasty. My wife enjoyed her main of the horseradish encrusted filet which was prepared to a perfect medium well. I had the duck breast which was delicious. We split a side of creamed spinach which we both enjoyed. For our first time we thought City Cellar was a pleasant expierience and would consider returning."

"The food here appears to be excellent. Our table ordered the long island duck, the filet mignon, and goat cheese ravioli ... all are highly recommended. However, we ordered the charcuterie plate an appetizer, but were given the local cheeses plate (very good) instead without explanation. They only cleared the dishes on the table when we got up to leave, not during the course of the meal. The wines by the glass are overpriced, so stick with a bottle."

"I know Mother's day is busy for restaurants but we waited almost 20 minutes to be seated (with our reservation), our waiter went missing for long periods of time and didn't talk about the menu or specials, our food took forever to come out and was quite salty, and I couldn't even get a glass of water in a timely fashion, even though our waiter passed the table several times holding the water jug in his hand. Plus the noise level in that place was unreal, I couldn't even talk to my mother without shouting and she was sitting across the table from me. Absolutely ridiculous."

"This was my third visit to your wonderful restaurant. I was first there for lunch and fell in love. Went back with friends and they loved it as well. On my third visit, which was a Saturday at 6PM, our friends loved the food beyond belief. The noise level did not even bother them. The service was not up to par. We found it inattentive and not professional. Our friend was served the burger rare as opposed to medium rare and he had to wait for another to be made. The gelato ordered came in the wrong flavor so we had to wait for the proper order to arrive. The servers did not understand the issues so the waiteress came over and appeared to make excuses for the problems. All in all it was a lovely evening and we will go back. Front desk-great"

"My husband and i have been to city cellar and have love it. This last occassion the food was still the same quality but poor service. You were left sitting and waiting for your order to be taken to drinks being brought. It took so long for drinks to come that they were watered down from ice melting.Dont know if i'd give it a second chance."

"I am really digging the new layout, decor and menu! Its romantic and sofisticated with an old world flair. The new menu items, with some old favorites, is delicious, flavorful, and downright perfect. We went on a pretty busy night so service was slightly slow, but overall everything was great.
Cannot wait to go back again, the improvements are definitely a plus!!"

"I was so pleasantly surprised with City Cellar. The wine list was as extensive as I expected and the wine we selected was very good. The food was also excellent. "I used to go to City Cellar when it first opened, and I loved it! In fact I preferred the old menu - especially for someone like me who only eats chicken and fish and vegetables. I don't think they should have added the drapes, since it does obstruct their very beautiful bar, even though the drapes are sheer. Food was O.K. but I wouldn't run there again."

"I had been here for lunch and it was a treat. When my friends asked where we should go for dinner I mentioned City Cellar. What everyone liked was that the menu had something for everyone. Each dish was so enjoyable, down to my friends mac and cheese to my lamb with ragu. We were oooooooooooooohing and ahhhhhhhhhing and dipping into each others meals. Our waitress "Stephanie" took the time to explain the white wine offerings after I related to her what I would like. Everyone around us appeared happy,content and enjoying the evening. I can not wait to return and enjoy what you establishment has to offer."

"Love going to this restaurant. The service is always first rate. The food is very good, especially the salmon & rigatoni bolognese. They have an extensive wine list and nice array of starters. Although we liked the old menu a little better, the new choices are equally up to par."

"The food was sub par and the service wasn't great. A lot of empty plates left on table and we had our menus for way to long. The waiter was a nice guy though and at times good but needs to step it up a little especially if I'm paying $150 for two. The creamy spinach needs an overhaul and the shrimp cocktail and calamari were sub par. The cajun mayo or spicy mayo for the shrimp didn't taste great and I am an enthusiast with spicy mayo. Calamari was average but the spicy tomato sauce tasted decent. The Gnocchi that my girlfriend ordered was good not great and the filet mignon I ordered was cooked perfectly and was tasty with the sides it came with ( asparagus and some sort of cheesy potato casserole). Our cocktails were perfect though."
