"It was my wife's birthday, and our first experience of dining at L'Antibes. The food was simply amazing - the best meal I've had all year, and we eat out a lot. The wait staff was excellent - very attentive and informative - and the atmosphere was peaceable and kind."

"Amazing place. The wine list although not expansive, had great selections at reasonable prices . The food tasted as amazing as the preparation appeared. Our server was prompt, courteous and informative. Although typically a very quiet place, a " loud" table nearby did detract some from the ambiance."

"Excellent gem of a venerable restaurant tucked in a nondescript building off a busy, touristy street. Interior was sleek, minimalist, yet charming and warm. Food was excellent. Though this was my first visit to Columbus (so I don't know the city's rhythms or the schedules its residents keep), I DID find it odd that for the first hour my wife and I were the only diners (Friday 7:30p.m. reservation). It was early but not THAT early, and 3 hours to the east in Pittsburgh, 7:30 is a prime dining-out time. On the plus side, we had the professional, friendly waiter to ourselves, but it did give us pause and we wondered why it was empty. So the atmosphere was a bit off. Of course I'd rather have too few than too many diners. We will be back."

"We had the salmon appetizer - delicious! Followed by the duck and halibut. Both dishes were amazing. The restaurant emptied out, so it was a good time to have a private conversation. Very clean and tidy, comfortable seats. If you're looking to see and be seen, this is probably not the place for you; however, I'm absolutely positive it's some of the best food in the Short North."

"Excellent French cuisine in a very intimate setting. I counted eight tables and a capacity of 28. I had the foie gras and sweatbreads au poivre. My wife had escargot and scallops. Exceptional flavor combinations throughout the meal. Our server was attentive and knowledgable; unsure unsure if a dessert wine would pair with the day's cheese plate, he simply tried them himself. Courses were spaced further apart than we were accustomed, but we found the pace relaxing and conducive to enjoying each other's company, not just the food. The valet even had our car waiting and warm when we exited."

"Overall the food quality was excellent. The wine was good, well priced. The waiter was good, seemed like he had a long day. The menu lacks main course options. My wife really didn't find anything that she really wanted. She did have the fish, but they had to change the preperation. There was no steak on the menu. I think there were short ribs, should, in my opinion, had a few more main course options.

"We recently went there for a wedding anniversary dinner. The staff was respectful, helpful, polite and there was an air of complete competence. The food was delicious, beautifully and elegantly presented. Wine selections were quite tasteful. We were delighted and impressed. We've both been to 4-5 star french restaurants in Manhattan and we have to say that L'Antibes may be finer than the NYC restaurants."

"I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. It was terrific. I had the sweetbreads and they were the best I have ever had and I have had many all over the world. The staff was pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. Plus, the decor of the restaurant was very nice, indeed. All in all a great evening which we really enjoyed and a surprisingly wonderful revelation in Columbus."

Unfortunately, as other reviewers have noted, the service is not on par with the food. It was not terrible, but waiting 10 minutes for water, after asking both the waiter and the assitant for water, was a little annoying. Some parts of the service were clumsy. You don't expect glasses and plates to be banging around in such an atmosphere.
However, the waiter was very knowledgable and friendly. His recommendations were top notch.
I think a little more training for the assitants and better communication among the wait staff would make this a top destination."
