Baci Restaurant
Baci Ristorante offers diners a hint of old world Italian charm, with plush booths, white tablecloths, and gracious servers clad in tuxedos. While the decor is subtly modern, the menu is classic, celebrating Northern and Southern Italian cuisine. "Had our 47th wedding anniversary at Baci. Service and food were outstanding, as always. Staff came and went, filled glasses, removed dishes and if you were not paying attention, you would not even know they had come by. Will definitely go back again. We have been going there since the mid to late 80's and it has always been great."

"We came to Baci's because our favorite northern-Italian restaurant is closed this month... we wanted to give it a try. Service was more than competent and very gracious, but we had lots of servers which bothers me. I count at least 4, plus the two separate men who greeted us and worked on our reservation. We had the impression that no one was really listening to us or invested in our meal.
Salads were fine. Entrees varied. The special Petrale Sole was incredible and priced wonderfully. Other specials announced were similarly enticing and inventive -- good work! The pasta dishes the rest of my table enjoyed were "fine".
Disappointed (as I usually am in San Diego) to see lots of men in tennis shoes and bad shirts."

"Shrimp tasted old and had too much sauce. Veal did not taste all that good. Wine, bread and desert were very good.

"This restaurant offers outstanding Italian food! My wife had sea-urchin pasta, a Sicilian specialty. I had Papardelle in a lamb ragout. We shared cooked spinach with garlic. The waiter was very engaging and interested in our having a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant's location is a little odd, on a street that borders the I-5 freeway, but a truly wonderful dining experience. We will be back, when we go to San Diego again."

"The best part of Baci was the fantastic service. The staff was friendly, and very attentive. A close second, however, was the Sea Urchin Linguini. My wife and I had never tried it before, and it was delicious. Highly recommend trying that as a starter or first course when you go!"

"This was a birthday celebration for myself and my son's girlfriend. We had not been there before so we were pleasantly surprised at the lovely decor and overall ambiance. The food was very good. Our only criticism was of the older waitstaff who seemed to not quite get our orders 100%. Baci could benefit by hiring young, sharp professional wait staff. It would be a total 10 if this was the case."

"Food was excellent; enjoyed patio type dining setting. Service was exceptionally slow. A while after dinner we were given dessert menus but then 30 minutes later had to flag down our waiter just to get him to take the menus back and get our check. We actually had wanted dessert and coffee but by then it was too late."

"Every year when we travel to San Diego we eat at Baci and the food never disappoints. This year it was better than ever and was one of the best Italian dinners we have had in a long time and better than any I have eaten recently in Los Angeles. Our main course was tortallini with prosciutto and for dessert, a creme brulee which was truly outstanding. I cannot recommend a restaurant more highly."

"Great presentation and attention to detail. The food was delicious. The calamari was light and the hearts of palm salad, not only was pretty to look at, but had a good combination of flavors. "In a word, "fantastic". This is our 2nd time there and in both instances Phil has been our waiter (he's really much more than a waiter) and his attention was outstanding even tho' I did bring him "up to speed" on the way several dishes are served in Italy. With family in Italy I travel there quite often. The food was "over the top" and the most near to Italian food that we've found in San Diego county. The portions were abundant (we brought some home)and still are enjoying it. We will return and really look forward to our next visit."
