"we had such an amazing time there! we went out for my friend's birthday and the staff was so nice about it. we got an awesome canopy booth and the service was awesome. they accommodated us in every way, from getting nonalcoholic cocktails for a younger guest to replacing a dish that we wanted to exchange. our waiter Fausto could not have been any nicer. great place for special night out!"

"This was our first visit to Chakra. It is a pretty restaurant. The waiter was nice and the food was good, but I wouldn't say great. The kitchen was off.....we had to send back 1 of our appetizers and 1 of the main courses for not being prepared as ordered. I would go back again to see it it was just an off night, but a good rest should be consistently good!"

"Was here 5 years ago and thought i would try again. The place has Great ambiance.
Greeted with a warm welcome.
Good menu options, but food is just over worked and under flavored.
Service has improved good quality, but a little slow.
Caesar salad was over dressed.
Seabass lacked flavor ,Fried Asparagus was greasy
Steak was better."

"Although I'm a huge fan of Chakra,and I go at least once a month (the food and ambience are superb),I must say the service is allways mediocre. This particular time the appetizer was brought out before the Chef compliments, our young male waiter was nervous around us and consequently dropped a fork on my lap, and apologized somewhat. What I also noticed is that after we finished dinner and paid our bill, we decided to stay longer, lounge and talk,and that's when the service was over, no one bothered to ask us if we wanted anything to drink, and I had to call someone over repeatedly for some water. This is a common practice in many restaurants, when the bill is paid, that's when the service is finished! This shouldn't be at such a fine res"

"This is a good restaurant. Probably the best place to take a date in the area because there aren't many good options nearby. The place takes itself a little too seriously and that takes away from the overall experience in that we didn't feel completely comfortable. It's a little too dark and formal for my taste."

"Pulled up and the valet told us that there were plenty of self park places....we were confused because we wanted to valet...it simply seemed like they didnt want to work...? Too loud to talk....playing really bad techno music. I order my steak med-well...came completely overdone...and dried out. My friend ordered his medium and it was blood red. Sent it back and they simply placed it on the grill and burnt the outside...so it tasted like smoke. Overpriced drinks.....they are trying to be trendy and hip and in that effort sacrificing quality in every way. I would not recommend this place to anyone who knows good food...unless you want a psuedo NYC experience with horrible food."

"Very good dining experience. The ambience is great and so is the food and the service. It is a very large space with high ceilings, so it tends to be noisy on the weekends. However, this is not a problem during the week. You can't beat the price fix menu which is also offered during the week."

"Chakra reminded me of being in South Beach. What a great space with tons of ambiance! Food was worthy of a Manhattan zip code and offered such interesting dishes.

Had the beef dumplings and the diver scallops for appetizer and both were delicious. The salmon and the sea bass were both outstanding. Other entrees like the short ribs, the duck and the noddle dishes all sounded incredible.

Definitely worth dining at this Bergen County gem."

"good food, good ambiance and good seating. we were seated in the banquettes, I appreciated that. try to come on a weekday but i would love to come back on a weekend to feel the high energy pace. the wait staff was great although my gf felt he was rude when the server thought i would be under tipping. i just needed to split the tip between the card and cash. so a little misunderstanding but it didn't matter. he tried his best to help us and maybe he felt a little under appreciated. they did make a good choice in wine for me in the tight price range i wanted to have a bottle, so that was a plus for them. good looking waitstaff and nice atmostphere. although its seems on the slow night its a little chilly since it is a vast space."

"I have heard about Chakra and it’s romantic setting which in my opinion gives you the feel of outside dinning somewhere in Morocco. For this I give it a 5 out of 5. The servers where very attentive but we felt rushed with our meals. In and out with-in 45 min. The food was a big disappointment. My wife and I started with the “A Taste of Chakra” which came with three dipping sauces. Zero taste on the sauces only the meat dumplings had flavor. My wife had the Sushi & Sashimi taste was just fair. Similar to what you would expect from your local grocery store. "The decor was nice. The music was good but a little to loud because I could hear a thing my friends were saying across the table. We had a reservation for 9:15pm and didn't get seated until 10pm. The food was really good and the presentation was nice. Unfortunately service was HORRIBLE. Our waitress took forever to come and take our order and after we were finish with our dinner we didn't see her for at least 50mins. Other then the service the overall experience was great."

"First time dining there, atmosphere/ambiance was great, really cool trendy spot. Food was tasty and well presentd. portion size was good. The drinks were very good,and nice size on those too. "The ambiance is the best thing about this restaurant. The kitchen is excellent at presentation and the food is very tasty. The room does get loud when full because it is one large space but the biggest disappointment was how cold it was in the room the night we were there. They moved us to another table that was only slightly better. We could actually feel cold air blowing on us from the vents wherever we sat. COLD AIR!! when we just came in from outside where the temperature was around 20 degrees. The candle on our table was flickering all night with how hard these vents blow that air out. We were told that unfortunately there was nothing they could do about it. YIKES!!"

"Great atmosphere, good service and terrific food. Everything was very fresh, served at the right tempature and plated beautifully. The only negative was having to waiting 30 minutes even with a reservation but it was a busy Saturday night and the table we were ultimately given was in a romantic corner with very comfortable seating."

"My friend and I went had a 9 PM reservation on a Saturday night. We got there early and they gave us the option of getting a drink and stay in the lounge or be seated right away. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and even had the bartender remix our drinks when we found them a little too strong. The only down side was that even though this atmosphere lends itself to staying a while, there was a forty five minute time span that we didn't see our waiter. Don't expect to get in and out of here quickly but it is a beautiful restaurant to eat, laugh and relax with friends."

"When we first arrived, the heat wasn't properly working so the restaurant was quite cold but eventually the problem was fixed, so the temperature was fine. The food was good but a bit overpriced. The quantities were not properly proportional. We ordered a trout entree which was delicious but the serving was rather small. The steak we ordered was huge but the mashed potato serving accompanying the steak was rather ungenerous. The soup and breads and butter were very good."

"A hit, chic environment. Great for a romantic dinner. Oysters were superb! Lobster ravioli...on the money! Careful how you order your steak. I ordered medium well and got well....small price to pay. The experience and service was still very good."

"totally disappointed. the online menu was vastly different from the in restaurant menu. having pre-shopped so to speak before we went, almost nothing was actually on the menu. the waiter sold a particular drink for at least 4 minutes only to return to the table to announce that they were out of the ingredients for that drink. my wife, the vegetarian, had 2 different items on the online menu, found out that indeed there was now nothing for her on the new in restaurant menu. we are here about 15 minutes and are starting to realize we have made a huge mistake coming here. finally settled on something to eat which turned out to be good. the prices are huge for the portions given, expect to pay. expect to be DISAPPOINTED"

"Food was good. Ambiance was very cool. Waiter service & timing needs to be worked on. Food takes a long time to come out. Also, had to ask several times for soy sauce, drink refill, etc. before it was done. Overall, not a horrible experience. Things need to be "tweaked," though."

"Food was outstanding,but unfortunately,the staff was overwhelmed as the restaurant was very, very busy for a Monday night. They tried their best, but dinner took far too long.I would certainly go back, as everything else was perfect. There were five of us and everyone raved about their food choices."

"Our experience included great food and ambiance. Was quiet night due to bad weather conditions. Even though the restaurant has a notable wine list, they had some challenges with the vintage. The first three wines that we selected were not the year on the list. The wine steward attempted to tell us that the year they wanted to serve was better as well as the same price……."

"Had a 645 reservation, but was running late, so I called at 630 to change it to 7. No problems there. Arrived promptly at 7, checked our coats, and told the host who we were. After being told our table would be ready in a few minutes, we went to the bar to wait. 15 MINUTES LATER, I went back to the host station only to be told we had been wait-listed! Thankfully, a table was immediately available. Other than that, we had a nice time. Food and bar were very good, as always."

"Really one of my favorite restaurants around. Can a restaurant be more romantic? For romantic date try to get a booth. Most of the times I am lucky to request and get booth, which can accommodate up to 6-7 people comfortable, but SO chic and romantic for 2! Food is amazing with my favorite: oysters (super fresh) and sushi/sashimi combo (fresh and unusual)."

"This restaurant has one of the best interiors in the area. The decor is beautiful, chic and trendy. Their menu is unique. What makes a restaurant stand out is how their menu compares to other restaurants. Why would you come back? I will come back to Chakra again and again because of their unique menu. It's fantastic!! They have dishes on their menu that you cannot find at any other local restaurants. I want to try everything on the menu. Dining at Chakra is like being away on vacation. It's an experience. Excellent food, excellent service and in a gorgeous setting. Very romantic. I cannot wait to go back!"
