According to the Mercury News (2007), "The menu in the main restaurant is equally eclectic (compared to its wine lounge), with unusual dishes such as pumpkin borani, which features spicy peppers and garlic, and aushak, pasta filled with leek and cilantro and topped with garlic-yogurt sauce and sautéed ground beef, and simpler starters and entrees such as grilled salmon and beef, shrimp, lamb, and chicken kabobs. The owners have designed their menu to accommodate the palates of those who like spicier, more exotic dishes and those who prefer milder, well-prepared salads, vegetables, and grilled seafood and meat.” Come experience this treasure in Downtown Pleasanton in either the main dining room or our relaxing wine lounge.
"We had heard about this and found it to be a very good spot. Be absolutely sure to get the Pumpkin Borani. I did not think I would ever eat this but one bite was all it took. Glass by the wine is affordable and the selection is very good-Malbec! The place is very noisy but the experience was worth it and may try outdoor seating in the summer. Next time will try the kebabs since the lamb shank was okay."

"Using OpenTable was perfect! The table was ready at the time requested. Service was timely and though it was Mother's Day, still felt attended to though they were visibly busy. Drinks came quickly, appetizers were fresh and nicely portioned and dinner was spot on. Dessert was to die for!. We will have to come back and try other items on the menu :)"

"This was my first time at the Oasis Grille in downtown Pleasanton. We took my mom for Mother's Day dinner. The patio looked inviting but mom needed to be out of the draft. Next time I will sit out there.
Our server, a very pleasant young man, (wish I had gotten his name), gave us just the right amount of attention. We started with the pumpkin Borani with jalapenos and flat bread. Yum! The salad was full of a lovely assortment of fancy olives, with the house dressing. Perfect. The flatbread eggplant pizza had a unique creamy richness, not like italian pizza. Very good. Mom loved the salmon smothered in a buttery caper sauce and garlic potatoes with roasted asparagus. I plan on bringing friends and family back here!"

"Really nice! We made easy reservations with Open Table, got right in to our table, and had our drink order taken quickly. They were really really busy with several large groups as well as Friday night after work crowds, but we still were able to order and get our dinner in good time. We had the shish kabobs, steak and shrimp and chicken,as well as an appetizer of the caprese salad. All of it was hot, fresh and cooked exactly as we asked. The absolute only negative was the very loud noise level. This is not an intimate restaurant for conversation, but a fun place with high quality food and good service. I would definitely return."

"We eat here regularly and it is consistently excellent. The food is great, the servers are attentive an polite, the atmosphere is fun and lively, and the restaurant is very accommodating of any reasonably special requests a guest may have. It's the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion, or to just a normal evening."

"The food was good, especially the sampler appetizer platter. The service was very good as well. However, the noise level was very annoying. My husband and I were on a "date" and sitting next to a table with kids who were loud and kept getting up and knocking into my chair. There were also large groups that were loud. The acoustics are very bad so don't expect a quiet experience. Maybe they could be more aware of trying to seat couples in quieter parts of the restaurant."

"The Oasis Grill is a great restaurant with excellent service and a terrific menu. We love their "happy hour" which is offered every day of the week. We have taken vegetarians and friends on diets and everyone can find interesting, delicious, and well-prepared food. We highly recommend this restaurant, have been many times, and will continue to enjoy the food and setting as well as introduce friends to this gem."

"I had made 7:30 pm reservations with a friend and I and our table wasn't ready. We had to wait for it to be cleared and cleaned. It took 15-20 minutes to get our drinks and any type of service after that. It was very busy, very disorganized and we felt very ignored. Once we waved our server down, he then became attentive and made a few menu suggestions since it was our first time experiencing Oasis Grille. Once we got our food, we were delighted and enjoyed our choices. It too bad the entire experience didn't match the impecable food."

"We invited a new couple to join us as we are expanding our circle of friends. The place did not disappoint. While I usually get the kabobs, this time I enjoyed the stuffed chicken breast; my girlfriend had the salmon and our guests tried the mantoo and a kabob. We shared the incredible pumpkin appitizer. As usual, service was good, the food great and my girlfriend seemed to like her "top shelf" Margarita while others had some wine. The only (minor) downside is that the place does get a bit noisy as it fills up, but then I probably need a hearing aide."

"Everything was wonderful about this restaurant except the noise level. There is nothing I hate more than having to yell across a table to my husband and there are only 2 of us. It's extremely loud in there. The food is exceptional, the wine was okay."

"We've eaten here regularly since (and actually before!) it's official opening years ago. The "before" was during it's testing phase when the meal was for free! The menu has expanded over time, but I still gravitate towards the hummus or a combo appetizer, and the meat/fish/vegies-on-a-stick meals (kabobs) generally. The unique mid-eastern pasta dishes are fine. We didn't take deserts, but finished up with coffees. Lively place, room for lunch and other meetings, but parking lot can get a little crowded so park on the streets. Recommended."

"The appetizers are really the stars of this restaurant. The sampler platter the includes the Pumpkin Borani is great. The hummus choices are gret as well. We've tried kebabs and salads and they've been good - not amazing, but worth a visit if you're coming this way. The only dish I've not liked was the Lamb Shank. It was swimming in an odd pool of what almost seemed like instant potatoes. The service is ok, not bad, it was just odd that as we looked around the only employee smiling was the bartender. Must be a management problem? No errors in our orders, nothing to omplin about .... Just odd."

"Food was very creative, presented nicely and very tasty. Our water was excellent and attentive....and patient when appropriate. I'd been here a couple of times before and have always had a good visit. This particular night, the place was packed and the crowd was very loud. Too loud really, but it was a sign of people having a good time and that's a good sign."

"I must eat my food without a lot of sauces and seasonings. However, Oasis exceeded my expectations. I started with a raw vegetable salad that was more substantial than most restaurants, really tasty house dressing. My entree was grilled chicken and vegetable kabobs. The meat was moist and tasted fresh off the grill. Side dish of grilled asparagus was on the dry side.. My business partner had grilled beef and shrimp kabobs with vegetables. His side dish was rice, no complaints there. He also tried the sweet potato dish that everyone raves about. He thought it was excellent, but there was enough to serve two. Variety of dips/sauces choices. He bookmarked the place, and said that he now had a new favorite Pleasanton restaurant; me too!!."

"My boyfriend and I went for Valentine's Day dinner and it was both our first time dining in the restuarant. The evening had a 5 course pre fixe menu, offering the most popular dishes on their regular menu. We really enjoyed the food. My boyfriend ordered the braised lamb, and O-M-G it was so good, the meat literally melted in your mouth. Probably had the best table, in my opinion, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine of choice. We were very pleased and will definitely be back! We look forward to exploring their regular menu."

"The appetizers and plates were very good. Our server was attentive and very friendly, if somewhat forgetful. I have enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor dining areas, did not get to spend any time in the bar. I found the cocktail menu to be dominated by margaritas and sweet martinis, which puts it squarely in 2007. Not a good fit for a place that seems to strive for sophistication."

"The food was excellent. The appetizer of dipping sauces was a great opportunity to try different flavors to decide what you would like to add to your meal. Upon arrival, the hostess said that my reservation wasn't in the system. I told her I had made it on Opentable earlier that morning and she said it wasn't there and our party of 4 would have to wait an hour. 5 minutes later I pulled up my email confirmation and was seated right away. Hmmmm... Beyond that, at times our server seemed to disappear and it took about 15 minutes and three requests to close out our tab but thankfully we weren't in a rush."

"The food was quite good, except for the carrot cake which was not a carrot cake, but a pile of cream cheese. The service was more like in a diner, and the waitress added about 20% tip though we were only 3 people. I am sorry I just paid it rather than give her the tip she deserved."

"I enjoy dining here on every occasion. Anniversary, birthday, Valentine's day, any holiday and especially when I have to meet with friends and family members that are gathering from different parts of the Bay Area. Centrally located in the best part of Pleasanton downtown. My favorite spot. A very friendly environment that makes me feel special with great food."
