"We sat overlooking the pretty fountains and the golf course. It was very pleasant. The dinner overall was very good but not great when considering the total cost. The white rolls did not look appetizing, and they would have tasted better had they been browned. We each ordered a Ribeye and my steak had to be returned because I ordered Medium and there was no pink inside. The second one was good. The Key Lime Pie was also good. Service was excellent; dinner was well-paced and our server was very pleasant."

"Great food and Great service. This was a special occasion (Marriage proposal) the Waitress intuitively kept her distance until the time was right then she magically appeared with two glasses of Chapaign without any guidance from me. I have been to the chop house previously and have always had a great meal and great service."

"From the beginning to the end the food, service was above expectations-If you can sit by the fire or enjoy the outside fire(bon fire) while you wait or after dinner.The food and choices are awesome as is the Prime Rib and Shrimp. This location in the Grand Geneva resort is good and they work hard at making your evening amazing.They also have fresh bread they bring out with the most amazing blue cheese butter. The horseradish is homemade and also worth the try."

"The personal touches for our daughters birthday were fabulous; I put in comments that it was her birthday; we had a wonderful window center table which was laced with red vibrant rose pedals on the table when we arrived creating the mood of celebration and our daughter loved it! The waitress wished her a happy birthday upon arrival at our table and treated her special throughout our brunch! She delivered 2 red roses and at the end of our meal a plate of desserts with a candle which gave us the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday. Thank you CHOP HOUSE for our expected wonderful brunch celebration!"

"This was an anniversary dinner. I made a request for a quiet table, away from heavy traffic like the kitchen and for a small flower arrangement . All my requests were met and the table had red rose petals on it....my wife was very impressed...the food was well prepared and well presented.....the excellent service, the atmosphere and view made our evening memorable. ...we will be back !!!!"

"We were celebrating our 10 yr. Anniversary. Table selction was great, and they had rose petals spread out on the table for for our special occasion. We also recieved 2 complementary glasses of champagne that was a nice touch! Our server, Tina was outstanding in all aspects of our dinner experience. Our food, Waygu Carpaccio was outstanding, Dry Aged Ribeye & Prime Rib with Lobster Tail was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The 3 sides, Lobster/Mac n Cheese, Mushrooms & Twice Baked Potatoes were also delicious. Would highley reccomend! Dinner was not cheap but you get what you pay for."

"I've been to Geneva Chophouse several times and it continues to deliver on food, service, atmo and . They are/were so accommodating in every respect. The steaks are absolutely outstanding and the salads and sides are big in proportion as well as flavor.
I came with a very special person and upon making my reservation I requested "best seat in the house and any nice touches would be appreciated". We were sat in (my estimation) *the best* seat in the house and there were also red & white rose petals scattered on the table cloth!! Seriously awesome and it was a complete surprise, we felt like royalty!
You simply cannot go wrong with Geneva Chophouse! Can't wait to do it again."

"Said they had Allen Brothers steaks so we ordered these specifically. We have Allen Brothers at home so we are very familiar with them. They were the worst steaks we have eaten. We asked our waitress if they were and she went to kitchen to ask they were not. Even if they weren't who ever was cooking had no clue. The waitress was very nice though and the manager did not make us pay for the steak. But we were both hungry and looking so forward to the meal."

"This was our third time at the Chophouse. First visit a couple of years ago was not great. Average food (halibut) for very expensive prices. Last year we decided to try it again. What a difference. I had the best steak I've had in a long time. My husband had salmon. Everything was wonderful.
So this year we went back for a third time and I had the same steak and it was cooked perfectly. Filet is hard to get right as it is rather thick. This was just pink enough but not overdone.
The service was great even though they were very busy. We switched a planned birthday dessert for an ice cream Brandy Alexander. Absolutely decadent. Couldn't have one of those more than once a year.

We were left waiting on more than a few occasions with empty glasses. Overall impression was that the servers were overworked stretch a bit thin. I went to retrieve my jacket from coat check and it was unattended. I had to go back and find it myself."

"From the moment I walked in with my service animal and were both greeted warmly I know my evening was going to be wonderful. I had a fantastic table by the window which suited both of us perfectly. Beth, my server was amazingly attentive and very friendly and the manager even stopped by for a chat and a couple of laughs.
The food was fantastic...the lobster mac and cheese is to die for! And the desert options made it very difficult to choose a favourite.
I will definitely return!"

"The restaurant has a nice view of the snowy outdoors. We had a seat by the window so we got the view without the cold. The came for the Sunday brunch and were amazed by the many choices provided - I really needed another stomach to actually try everything I wanted to try! Shrimp, crab legs, prime rib were all good although you had to ask for drawn butter for the legs. The fish unfortunately tasted "fishy" but I was pretty full by then. There were quite a few choices for dessert. I chose the peanut butter pie, it was moist and rich. Usually its tough to satisfy kids by my twelve year old daughter and her friend had no problems finding what they wanted. Definitely will eat here again when I come back next year."

"This is my second visit to the Geneva Chophouse for Sunday Brunch and it has yet to disappoint. This visit, in particular, was for a birthday celebration, and everything was wonderful. "Second chance for this place, and it failed again. Allen Brothers steaks are the real deal though…outstanding. 50 minute wait to get a steak and piece of fish for my wife. No salads, no appetizer..50 minute wait! I ordered my steak MEDIUM and it came to me with no pink in it and not warm. My wife’s fish was WAY over cooked…for $34. The butter on the table tasted like shortening…huh…we’re in Wisconsin…it should the best butter ever. Wine list is not updated weekly...check the vintage they bring to your table. The manager did stop by the table and asked how things were…we responded “ok”…we just wanted to get out; we don’t need our food comped or re-cooked and we didn’t want to make a scene in a packed room."

"Our steaks and sides dishes were cold. It took an hour and 15 minutes to even get our dinner. We sent the food back and it came back warmed after another 10 minutes.

"We had a reservation for six people at 830 pm. Very noisy restaurant - hard to hear people across the table. Service was excellent.
Side dishes we ordered were pretty bland. The filet was prepared correctly for both my husband and I , but was a rather mediocre grade of meat - somewhat chewy with some fibrous banding in the center for a medium rare steak.
Dessert and coffee were excellent."

"I have been at the chophouse many times for special occasions. This time was a real disappointment! My husband took me for my birthday. When we arrived we did have nice rose petals on the table, but the table was on the end by the wine cellar and seemed very cold. The waitress disappeared after taking our drink orders and we waited for a long time. We ended up getting a new waitress. We waited for a very long time for our food. I saw others getting a rose for their special occasion as I have in the past.....I needless to say didn't. I was brought a cake with a candle and no singing. I was disappointed. I always had such a great experience at your restaurant but this really took the wind out of my sails."

"This was our 2nd Valentine's Day at the Chophouse. Last year we had such a memorable experience that we decided to return, even though the menu special was priced 75% higher than the year prior. From the background music, to the inexperienced wait staff(inadequate training), to the quality of the food, it was not an enjoyable evening. The manager was very nice and did his best to take care of things, but these items should have been handled prior to our visit. The Geneva Chophouse is not living up to the Marcus family expectations! If you are going to spend $200 for a couple, you would expect things to be perfect."

"The restaurant Geneva Chophouse was great. I had the Filet and it was perfect. However, my husband had the Chicken and it left a lot to be desired. First, he did not expect a split chicken and second it was very dry. He is not one to complain or send food back, so he ate a little. I would have expected a split chicken to be very juicy, not dry with no flavor. I would recommend the restaurant and I would recommend the beef. However, I would never order the chicken again. "The food was good but the chef had difficulty properly preparing a medium rare steak which was a little surprising. Our server was quite good and competent regarding the house wine list. The wine list was ok and not as developed as other higher end chophouses in the area or just over the border in Illinois. Atmosphere was quite nice. Prices are fair and expected for the level of food choices presented. Noise was not too bad and conversation could behave with colleagues easily."

"If you are used to great steakhouses in Chicago than you won't be dissatisfied here. While some complained about the prices we found them comparable to a nice restaurant. We went to celebrate on our babymoon and were pleasantly surprised with roses and a complimentary desert. The food was excellent and so was the experience. We highly recommend."
