"My husband and I enjoy little overnight getaways, so after a relaxing day on the beach of the beautiful Don Cesar in St Pete Beach, I made a dinner reservation through Open Table at hotel restaurant, Maritana Grille. The was our second time having dinner there so we were familiar with the menu. Just as we remembered, the food, service, the romantic setting was delighful. Cannot wait to go back......we have become a big fan."

"The decor was beautiful and modern, sitting next to the large aquarium was enjoyable. Our waiter/sommelier was helpful and knowledgeable about the entrees and wine list. The duck won tons and were unique and wonderful appetizers. The fresh baked bread was warm and the seasoned butter was a nice touch. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the fresh Hawaiian fish special was delicious!. The food presentation was impressive including the chocolate dessert trio with a special handwritten message on chocolate from the chef. Even the pastry chef provided a complimentary pair of gold dusted chocolate treats.The special touches were very much appreciated. Looking forward to a return trip."

"This was a fabulous experience... the only thing that would make it better would be having dinner on the beach itself...
We were treated by an amus buis... and then a wonderful trio appertizer... a wonderful raspberry lemon sorbet palet cleanser and then the special of the day which was a hawaiian grey snapper... wo derful... we were too full for desert but had a great surprise of a mango truffle .... it was our anniversary dinner and 7 cannot think of a better wayto spend it"

"My husband and I wanted to spend our first wedding anniversary at the same place we got engaged two years before- the Don Cesar. I made reservations at the Maritana Grille because 1) It's the nice restaurant at the hotel, and 2) I thought it was the restaurant we'd eaten at after getting engaged before. Well, Turns out that it wasn't the same restaurant (we'd dined at the other restaurant located elsewhere at the resort), but I was pleasantly surprised nonetheless. In the reservation I had specifically mentioned it was our anniversary so everyone made sure to wish us a happy one as they came by. The food was beyond excellent and I enjoyed the added amuse bouche, palate cleanser, different bread and butters, and our entrees immensely."

"What a wonderful experience! We chose the prix fix menu with wine tasting. Every course and each wine selection was superb. The service was excellent; friendly and quick to respond, not stuffy at all. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and this menu choice. It was expensive, but we thought it was worth it!"

A varied menu of never-seen-before cocktails, as well as a great wine selection kept everyone happy. Each of us ordered a different entree' and all were amazing. "We celebrated our anniversary at Maritana Grille. The food was overall good quality for the price. I wasn't impressed with the fish that was recommended to me. I'm not sure what the cooking process is called but it is apparently slowly cooked at a low temperature in a sealed bag. I found it to be rather dry and overcooked. My husband's fish which was grilled was much better. I was very disappointed that the restaurant didn't even offer us a dessert on the house considering it was our 40th anniversary. We certainly spent enough with our $60. bottle of wine, two pre-dinner drinks and an after dinner cognac."

"We were gladly welcomed to the restaurant and our waiter was exceptionally kind, professional, and efficient. The other employees of the restaurant were equally kind and welcoming to us. In terms of food, we left with a satisfied appetite and plates that were bare of any food remains because the food was that SUPERB! We ordered the duck wontons, red snapper, and iron griddles shrimp which all were tasty. For dessert, we had a trio of sorbet and the flavors were supremely refreshing and a perfect ending to a memorable dining experience at Maritana. This definitely was a pleasurable dining experience!

"We are relatively new to the area and chose the Maritana Grille at the Don CeSar for my birthday and Mother's day dinner which are very close together. On their website they feature the beautiful salt water fish tanks so I asked that we be seated next to those. Upon arrival they hardly acknowledged my birthday and did nothing to help me celebrate- not even a little cake at the end. Even Chili's gives you a free dessert! They also sat us at the farthest table from the tanks possible. They had many open tables the entire night but simply ignored my request. The food was good and the restaurant is worth visiting, but they could've done a little more to make their guests feel special especially at their price point. Disappointed."

"The Maritana Grille located at the Don Cesar Hotel is a very elegant restaurant. Expect to be impressed with the skill level of the chefs and their creations. On the night we dined, we had the Sea Scallops appetizer, while I ordered the filet mignon and my girlfriend had the lobster ravioli. My filet was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Unfortunately, I had to give half of my steak away to my gf because her meal was inedible. The lobster had a very bad smell to it and a flavor to match. We also found a piece of a shell in her food. The waiter made it up to us and took it off our bill with no question and offered to give us something else.
Our waiter was very attentive and very kind about the situation. Overall a pleasant experience."

"The service and the food was outstanding. It was by far the nicest meal we've had since moving back to Florida. We had the Lamb and the Venison, and they were cooked perfect. "My wife and I were in St. Pete Beach, FL for a business conference and were having difficulty finding "fine dining" restaurants. We happened to see Maritana Grille and decided to try it on Monday evening. It was fantastic! We liked It so much that we went back with two business associates on Friday night and it was even better! Everything we had was excellent from the chef's favor at the start of the meal, outstanding bread, delicious seafood appetizers, the intermezzo, the entrees and last but not least the desserts. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"The food, service and atmosphere made this a pleasureable dining experience. The seafood entries, appetizers and wine selection all were excellent and enjoyable. The server was attentive and anticipated requests before we asked. The elegance of our surroundings was evident, urging us to explore the Don CeSar for a future stay. "Our best dining experience on St Pete Beach!" was my wife's declaration."

"The restaurant is small and cozy.You are surrounded by aquariums. Very cool. The food was to die for. We did the six course meal. It was the best meal that I have had in my recent memory. The service was perfect. Not too much, not too little, just right. And the server was very kind to my elderly mother. The flowerless chocolate tort is to die for. I highly recommend going."

"Our server was a Debby Downer. He acted as though he didn't want to be at work. That is too bad because his tip was cut in half. Also, he seeemed disoriented and wasn't sure who was to receive what meal. Including presenting the birthday dessert to the wrong person. Too bad it affected our entire experience.
Bah Hum Bug. We will not return."
