In everyday French life, it is the Bistro that is woven into the daily pattern of meals and celebrations. The only French owned and operated restaurant in Napa Valley, Bistro Jeanty has been received by patrons from all over as a true French bistro. The warm interior is a reflection of the casual elegance you find in every meal. Classic dishes such as Mussels au vin rouge, Cassoulet, or of course Philippe’s famed Tomato soup make you feel as if you really have traveled into the French countryside. "You will definitely not want to miss eating at Bistro Jeanty - lunch or dinner! The food was to die for and the service was fabulous! Our waiter, Roger, was delightful, helpful and knew exactly when to be there or not! (DEFINITELY ASK FOR ROGER!) We ate at several of the more famous restaurants in the area, but none compared.....we actually came back to Bistro Jeanty for expresso and their fabulous, home-made, caramel-salt ice cream! (Not too sweet - just the best ice cream ever!) Can't say enough about our perfect dining experiences!"

"Off the beaten track. We went to Napa Valley just to go here and Dean and DeLucca's. The food was delicious, reminded us of our trip to Paris and Rouen. The onion soup was very good as was the quiche.
We ate on the patio. Be careful you don't get sunburned. Even though the patio is covered, the sun poked its way through the slats and was still quite bright and warm. Even still, lovely."

"Loved this restaurant! Food was outstanding, server was friendly and chatty, and the overall ambience was terrific! I highly recommend this restaurant in Yountville, home for Napa wines. Just down the street from the famous French Laundry, Bistro Jeanty (prounced Jahn-Tee) was a gem that we found from a friend's recommendation. Great selection on the menu, and the house specialty Tomato Bisque with Pastry top was the best ever. All our meals were outstanding and the server was great with descriptions and recommendations."

"5 of us ate dinner here to celebrate a birthday. Ages from 9-72, and the menu had enough variety to satisfy all taste ranges. The special was Spring rack of lamb -amazing! We enjoyed a range of cocktails, from dry martinnis to Tom Collins, so the bar is well stocked and staffed by knowledgable tenders. For dessert we shared a super fun "chocolate bag" filled with a fresh berry smoothie-a great hit and the 9-yr old loved eating the bag. We were treated excellently, with discreet staff that removed plates when appropriate and brought new items and accountrements without being asked. All-in-all an outstanding resturant for those who appreciate fresh food cooked perfectly, served by attentive and professional staff."

"The food looked great on everyone else's table, but we ordered the sea bass special which was flat in flavor. The ratatouille was not memorable. This was disappointing, since we had such high expectations and it was so expensive. The tables were in close proximity and we visited with other diners on each side. They had great dishes and recommended the restaurant highly. We enjoyed our smoked trout potato salad and the wine that was recommended. Service was outstanding. A very friendly place to be."

"We actually sent 4 friends to this restaurant under my reservation with OpenTable.com. They had a great time; the food & service was excellent. Had a very charming and fun waiter.
The only problem was this: I had called ahead and requested that their bill for the evening be put on my credit card. I gave the gentleman at the restaurant all my credit card information, what percentage I wanted to leave for a tip, etc., etc. This dinner was to be my treat.
When I saw my friends the next day, I discovered that this news was never related to them! They ended up paying for the dinner and tip themselves! I was not happy, and plan to talk to the manager at this restaurant."

"Enjoyed our dinner in Bistro Jeanty. We had escargot and the fried smelt with aoili for appetizers, short ribs and rib eye for mains and the bread pudding for dessert. Everything was delicious! The escargot was very buttery, the smelt was so unique and the braised rib was so elegantly presented and outright fantastic! The rib-eye was ok - its not your five-star steak restaurant rib-eye that am used to in Houston; but the fries that came with it was simply oustanding. Bread pudding for dessert just rounded this perfect meal. We also brought our own wine - $20 corkage. They have good wine selections but we wanted to bring something we enjoyed during our winery visit."

"Though the place was crowded on a Tues night in April, service was warm and attentive and not rushed. Gluten-free needs knowledgeably addressed by waiter. I had light dinner of excellent green bean/goat cheese salad and the best smoked trout ever: plump, generous, and not overly salty. Husband enjoyed the famous tomato soup but found it awkward to eat crust; he did love his perfect lamb chops. House made ice cream good.
Tables are close and chairs not comfortable but the food is good enough to make up for it!"

"The food was okay, not greats we have had better meals in Ridgewwod NJ. The waiter was most annoying, I felt he was haughty and most unpleasant . We certainlly know that the wait staff can influence your enjoyment of the food, however I do feel that the whole picture should be considered. we enjoyed the other Restaurants in the area much more."

"Our group of seven sat at Julia Child's table! The service was perfect, the atmosphere "oh so lovely casual French chic", and the attention to detail just perfect.
We have dined here before, and a couple of us were surprised that the (usually fabulous) short ribs were not quite as juicy and (apparently) not as much time given to achieve that perfect slow braised taste. My fish? I am so fussy....it had just a bit of "fish" taste...on Sole? Everyone in my group did enjoy the restaurant and our evening, and kudos to the restaurant for handling the night so beautifully (there was a major special event in Yountville that day that brought in an extra 7,000 people to this tiny town!), but I do think they might have changed chefs."
