"We hosted a reunion of 8 women from around the country at Allium...and had a wonderful experience! good cocktails, the lavosh bread was original and delicious. Every etree and apitizer we ordered was fabulous....especiallyt the kale & sweet potato salad, broccoli side dish, Korean BBQ sliders, and walleye pike. The dessertts were delicious, especially the brandy alexander! We all marveled at our food."

"Overlooking Michigan Avenue, Allium is a beautiful venue. The innovative drinks and dishes are so interesting, yet they work on every turn. My wife and I had a late night dinner, and it was excellent. Starting with chorizo bits and crab fritters, things got better with her brick chicken and my mussels with salami (I was skeptical until I tasted it...wow!) Portions were generous and the wines by the glass allowed us to try different vintages. Service was perfect, everyone was so friendly, and our celebrity sighting (by my wife ) for the evening was Sting!! The different choices beg fro a return visit!"

"This was the best dining experience I have had in ahead. The moment we walked In we were greeted with helpful and polite staff that remained interested throughout our meal. The menu was not an average stuffy hotel restaraunt menu. The escargot and octopus flat bread was superb. The lamb was the best I had ever had and the hot dog was hands fown the best Chicago hot dog ever. The prices were not too steep either. Making it even more memorable was when the head chef came out to check on us and make sure everything was to our liking. A true class act."

"Big choice of asian and asian inspired food, we shared 6 different types of food (no sushi, sashimi): cooking clearly adapted to western palate, Ingrediens of mostly medium quality. Highest noise level of an restaurant we ever experienced, screaming like our neighbours was tiring after two hours and we left numb and not really convinced by the food."

"I had a couple of kids with me and the waiter was so accommodating, bringing coloring books and crayons as well as kids menu. I was a little disappointed in the famous cheese lavosh. It's not as good as it looks. The rhubarb cheesecake was also prettier than it tasted. Wisconsin walleye and crispy "brick" chicken were the highlights of the meal. The chicken was quite moist with a nice crisp skin, atop a lovely bed of creamy polenta and chicken jus. There are two huge chicken breasts with one order, so perhaps something to split."

"I've been coming to the Four Seasons Chicago for 15 years and it seems since Allium debuted, the service has just gone downhill. The wrong table was reserved, service was slow, the waiter was not knowledgeable or able to understand. Staff was seen congregating and talking and joking with one another. Perhaps the aim of Allium to is be less formal than Seasons, but the service was not aligned with The Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts."

"This was our second visit and we were just as pleased the second time. Service is outstanding -- laid back, not high pressure like you get at a lot restaurants these days. Excellent wines and yummy food. The sliders are just amazing! The cheese lavosh is a must! Lots of variety on the menu. So many things to try. Highly recommend!"

"The menu is very thoughtful and precisely executed. Service was phenomenal. I highly recommend sharing a number of the small and big plates to experience the wonderful variety- and certainly leave room for dessert. "Allium has some of the best and most flavorful salads in town - the fried kale and sweet potato salad with fregola and toasted hickory, or the big bowl of urban greens with a goat cheese grilled cheese sandwich "crouton" are both great starters. I love the shared plates format and definitely order the 99% pure chocolate milkshake on a hot summer day. There's no better way to cool off. I was so impressed with the creative and totally delicious ice cream flavors too – banana curry, sesame with yuzu granite and apricot almond."

"We stayed at the hotel, and had a very pleasant, nicely paced, dinner. Allium is (almost) all about sharing, and we shared the Crispy Brussels Sprouts (as good as we'd hoped) and the Soft Pretzels (much better than I had expected), and I had a delicious deviled egg. For entrées, we "shared" separate orders of the Wagyu Skirt Steak. The best of the very rarely ordered skirt steaks we've ever had. As for sweets, we had a selection of rather exotic sorbets, all very good, and a selection of caramels, also very good. (We took the caramels up to our room and had them the next afternoon.) The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and we had a window table overlooking Michigan Avenue."

"Great variety of great food.. We had the cheese lavosh , chorizo bites, wild mushrooms with grits (my favorite), hotdog, hanger steak, urban greens salad, and the mussels with gnocci. Everything was delicious except the mussels but by that time we were stuffed so it didn't really matter. The service is perfect -- helpful but not intrusive. The ambiance is relaxing, comfortable, and relatively quiet. The drinks were very good and my son (20 years old) loved the butterscotch miso milkshake. I highly recommend Allium."

"We had a wonderful meal at Allium. We had the carbonara which was probably the closest to what carbonara tastes like in Italy. We also had the wagu strip steak with frites and it was cooked perfectly altho next time I will probably have them leave off the wine sauce. It was good but I am not a fan of sauses. For dessert we tried several things, great potato chip cookies, 99% chocolate sorbet,the best; a bag of apple fritters which were delicious, chocolate coconut cookies which were wonderful and a couple more desserts I cannot recall. They were all fabulous but ended up taking home some desert leftovers. We had great service as always and were made to feel very welcome. One of our favorite restaurants."

"While I was a fan of "Seasons", I think that Allium is a strong substitute, although it isn't nearly as "special occasion" as "Seasons" was. The food is well prepared, the wine list is good, the service is as expected in a Four Seasons and the bill is much more manageable. I have been to Allium for lunch and dinner and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time."

"We have been to Allium several times, making sure we visit at least once every time to come to Chicago. Their Bison Tartare is fantastic, and the Wagyu offerings are succulent (as Wagyu should be!).

While the entire staff is wonderful, we highly recommend you ask for TJ if he is available. He has helped create our best dining experiences in Chicago for nearly a decade!"

"This continues to be one of the best places to eat and converse with others. The service is excellent, and they allow you to eat at your own pace. "Have been twice, pleased both times. Casual elegance at the Four Seasons. Great / comfortable place to relax over a meal and talk with friends. Varied menu of small, mid and true sized plates that encourages sharing. Had the pork chop both times - great dish. Sound, medium sized wine list. Good for entertaining / catching- up with friends and business entertaining. God views of Michigan Avenue from the window tables. Not over the top expensive. Will continue to frequent."

"I decided, with my birthday on a Sunday, brunch would be wonderful and I chose perfectly. I didn't know that there was a race happening on that day and my guest would be late, however my table was reserved and the staff was very nice about the wait (since we had to wait about 30mins longer).

The food was excellant and the atmosphere was great. I was also surprised with a Birthday dessert! It was everything I'd expected."

"This was our first visit since the closing of the previous Four Seasons restaurant. The menu items allowed us to pick and choose several selections to share and each was outstanding. Using local producers provided the opportunity to taste fresh and exciting item. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu, the ingredients, and how the items were prepared, as well as some great recommendations. The menu items were fairly priced. The cocktails expensive, but plentiful.
We will return again soon."

"I highly recommend this Magnificent Mile restaurant. As we walked out of the elevator on the 7th floor, Mayor Rahm Emanuel walked past, coming from the restaurant - clicking away on his Blackberry. Off to a good start: if it's good enough for Mayor Emanuel, it just might be passable to us plebeians!

We were sat by the window where the view is pretty nice. The food was excellent and prepared exactly as we wanted. I ordered the oysters and the bison tartar, my date ordered the brick chicken. The chicken was absolutely amazing! The oysters were crisp and delicious and the bison tartar with "62 degree egg" was wonderful."

"Amazing food, service and ambiance. Only caveat is that this is not a place to go if you want to stick with a restricted diet...food is quite rich but AWESOME.
Loved moving to the fireplace area in the lounge to finish up our wine. Truly differentiated service and experience."

"The fondue special was a miss but most of the other plates are hits. There are big plates, small plates, and snacks. The difference between the three sizes is not so much quantity of food but expense of ingredients involved. For instance there is a "big" foie gras plate that is pretty good but there is probably 6 bites total and one tiny piece of foie gras. The place reminded me food wise (not at all similar in ambiance or style) to Publican but Publican is better and has better prices for quality and quantity of food. Overall I would go here again but mainly because of how close it is to my apartment and less because it is the best you can get for that price range. Food is very good just a bit overpriced."

"Wife and I stayed at the Four Seasons. Allium reminds me a little of a Las Vegas-style restaurant in that it's grandiose and somewhat whimsical. The breakfast food (nutella pancakes, huevos rancheros, duck confit) was excellent and unique. Service was impeccable. At night, the drinks were one-of-a-kind (Purple Haze is a must try) and reasonably priced (for a high-end spot, $14/per). The bar/lounge is fun and laid back place. No thumping music and it's easy to talk. If that's what you're looking for, you wont be disappointed."

"We were staying at the Four Seasons so we ate both dinner and brunch the next morning at the restaurant. Both dining experiences were great. For dinner, we ordered a variety of small and big appetizers and everything was delicious. My husband had the dry aged ribeye and it was amazing; seasoned well and prepared perfectly. It came with a side of blue cheese sauce, but the steak was fine all on its own. I had the waygu and it was good but I preferred my husband dish. Our server was nice but bland and seemed slightly overwhelmed and busy. Brunch was also good but I miss the old brunch buffet that was amazing. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere in the front dining area is beautiful, formal yet cozy."

"You would expect that dinner in the Four Seasons to be fairly impressive. And while the space itself is amazing, and the food fresh and unique, the service level was so utterly unimpressive that I can't possible give this place a good rating. We felt like we were somewhat of a chore to the wait staff. Drinks went empty for quite a while, a few times. Tapas dishes came out "all at once", then with looooooong gaps to the next dish. Terrible pace to the whole thing. They really need to improve the service to better match the food and space. We will not be back."
