Moonshadows has set the standard for excellence in Malibu dining since the day it opened it's doors, four decades ago. At Moonshadows guest's find themselves immersed in an elegant yet comfortable environment complete with the breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean.
Whether sitting down for a romantic dinner, or a weekend brunch, guests are treated to the best of contemporary American cuisine. The menu is complimented by a wine list that has been honored with Wine Spectator's Award Of Excellence for three years in a row.
Weekends feature an international roster of DJs spinning an eclectic mix of down tempo, lounge, and house grooves. Bottle service is available on the patio, and reservations are highly recommended on the weekends.

"All of the staff were very friendly and accomadating. We had a reservation and we were seated promptly. The manager stopped by our table during our meal to make sure everything was ok. Our food was served promptly and was excellent. All and all a wonderful experience for a busy Friday night. We will definately return."

"The food was good, though not a huge selection of choices it has the basics. Fish, chicken, steak, etc. They have all the wines you could need. The server was attentive and it was busy being Mother's Day. The best part was they gave us a good table with a good view of the ocean. It was a good time for all."

"The window seating right out over the Pacific ocean is exquisite. You can feel the ocean vibrate against the shore underneath you. Personally I ordered the Black Cod. It was exceptionally good! The prices are high, but the food and the view make the trade-off completely worth it. I highly recommend a visit to Moonshadows in Malibu, CA!"

"Love moonshadows. One of my favorite Sunday out doors settings. Was a bit disappointed with the waitress. she did not check on our meal or if we needed anything. The water kept coming from someone else. Asked for another place setting and never received it. Waited for ever fir the bill and the waitress completely screwed up finalizing the bill. Food was great, atmosphere great, the manger Chris was wonderful but the waitress killed my joy. I will return but may not order from the same waitress."

"One would figure after the 20th or so time eating at a restaurants at some point they would disappoint but not Moonshadows! We just brought our two friend and their five year old there and it was amazing. Sasha our waitress was completely accommodating not to mention sweet as can be. "The view is amazing, but the service is far less than average. The server didn't bother to take his sunglasses off when taking our order. I had to flag him down any time I needed anything. He didn't bring us out water or bread and butter (other table had it). He did ask us how are food was within 30 seconds of dropping it off, and of course we hadnt had a chance to try it yet. We ordered a burger medium rare and it came out well done. He never bothered to ask us how it was again. Very disappointing. I would go back for drinks and a view, but not for a meal - and certainly not at those prices with that lack of service. Too bad."

"I booked this restaurant a few days before Easter which was unheard of considering options for Easter brunch were dwindling. They reserved us a table right in the patio overlooking the beautiful panoramic view...breathtaking! (the weather was overcast but still worth it). My one and only complaint would be that of our server ...very short with us, not friendly and definitely rude. My bf asked for a different sauce other than buerre blanc for his swordfish, to which he was met with a very dismissive adamant no. Being a special occasion and an upscale restaurant, he decided not to take NO for an answer. The Manager/owner was gracious enough to accommodate him there by salvaging our almost unpleasant experience!"

"When I first got there the hostess completely ignored me, when she finally decided I was worth her time she was nothing but rude. Once we were seated everything was fine, the waiter was funny and attentive. The food arrived quickly but all of our food was overcooked. "We had a very nice time and will come back my only thing is we weren't able to have dinner there because we dont like seafood. It would be nice to eat dinner that doesn't have seafood in it even the salads had it that's why we only ordered dessert I wish the menu had more to it to accommodate to everyone's taste pallet other than that it was really nice hopefully next time the fog wont be there to see the beautiful sunset thank you for asking me how the experience was"

"Food was great, the service was not that good. Waiter took too long and was chatting too much with other folks. Had to wait a long time for food, then had to wait a very long time for our check.
Went to the Blue Lounge after, ordered 2 martini's. Stood up to go take a picture, came back and both full Martini's were gone. Informed waitress and she brought us back 2 half filled Martini's"
