Kamehachi of Tokyo - Northbrook is an award winning Japanese restaurant. They have been family owned & operated for over 40 years. Kamehachi offers full cocktail service & a friendly staff. The beautifully appointed restaurant is located across from Village Green Park.
"Kamehachi/ Northbrook is consistently a treat, with delicious sushi, well-chosen wines (try Reynoso Sauvignon Blanc!) & gracious service. The two ladies who generally take care of my table even remember what guests have ordered in past visits! We have enjoyed Kamehachi/ Northbrook at least 10 times & look forward to our next visit."

"The restaurant was extremely busy when we arrived. The host showed us to our table, but nobody came with menus. I had to go and find menus myself. There was no sign of a waiter. After about 10 minutes, a waiter arrived and took orders from the table next to us, completely ignoring us. We walked out and left. We will definitely not return. Completely disorganized and unprofessional. What a disaster!"

"Great food. Amazing service. It's the best sushi spot in the north shore! Unlike other sushi spots the team here is willing to customize items for allergies or just picky eaters with no hassle at all. Sushi is the freshest and we love the asparagus beef rolls."

"Very possibly the best sushi spot on the north shore. I have been coming here for years and never gotten a bad meal. Tonight out waitress was fantastic. She gave me a couple options I had never tried, and even let me know one roll I had ordered wasn't that great, and gave me a different one that I LOVED. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone like myself who just moved from the city looking for a great spot for dinner (they do have some great lunch deals too). Also, they have a pretty decent set of sake options if that's your thing."

"We went on Oscar night, and on night with Blackhawks & Bulls both playing, so place was almost empty. We had a great time though. Nice place, good food, and spacious room for the whole family."

"The lunch specials are great at Kamehachi of Tokyo! They have two Bento Box options both of which are super delicious and lots of food. They are also reasonable priced for the amount of food. I personally had the Bento A which included miso soup to start then salad, edamame, ½ California Roll, Vegetable Tempura and a choice protein (Ton Katsu or Chicken Katsu). I had the chicken which was crusted with tempura or something and it came with Japanese BBQ dipping sauce. This was my first time trying the Japanese BBQ sauce and it a little bitter/salty for my taste buds. From the outside Kamehachi of Tokyo looks like a small restaurant but once you walk in it a BIG! I love the ambiance and décor of the entire place!"

"This is possibly the last time I'll eat here. The service is very bad. There were 2 waiters for an almost empty restaurant, and we would barely see them. Ours forgot something that we asked for, spilled Green tea all over the table and into my dad's sauce without cleaning it up or replacing his sauce, and gave us the wrong bill. The food is fine (with exceptions) but the service has been consistently poor."
