"My wife and I hosted both mothers here for Mother's Day. We were seated in the side house off the main restaurant and accordingly I was concerned that the service might be less attentive. Those concerns were for naught though as I actually believe the service was even better then normal! Food was top quality, prepared well and served as we've come to expect from here."

"I have gone to Brenners on Katy Freeway often for special lunch occasions. The food is great but portions I find small for the cost. The lunch menu for a main meal from the $29 to $39. They need a lighter, less expensive lunch menu for ladies who want to go somewhere special and not spend that much money. I wouldn't go there and pay myself, not at lunch.
The onion soup was great! But, I expected french onion soup as you get elsewhere. Now that I know, OK, it was a creme onion soup and the portion was small, again for the price $8 or $10 at lunch!"

"We booked a table for 7 people on Mother's Day for Sunday brunch. Not only did they not offer brunch, they gave us a dinner menu at 12:45 PM. The waitress even said she had gotten a lot of requests for a brunch menu. Open Table sent us an email advertising the best spots in houston for brunch, and thought this spot would be perfect because it is nearby and has a pretty garden in the back. The food was ok and we were put in a table in the back room. I wanted brunch for my first Mother's Day and I was very disappointed. If I wanted steak or lobster for Mother's Day I would have booked a table for the evening. We would have never booked a table here if you only served dinner. Everyone was put off by this and we probably won't go back."

"I took my wife who is pregnant with twins to have a specials Mother's Day dinner. The landscaping is absultley amazing and was being taken advantage of by taking family photo's after dinner. Great food and excellent service! Even with the extra crowd at Mother's Day the service and food were timely and great!"

"I have gone to Brenner's twice now and both times I was blow away by the food, service, and building. Brenner's is really a gem of West Houston. I think Landery's has done a great job in keeping its tradition and not turning it into "just another steak house"."

"Brenner's has retained the original German ambience and menu influence. Our group of 4 had 4 different preferences on how steak should be prepared, and the kitchen accommodated each perfectly. One of our party requires gluten-free, and they thoughtfully provided a pre-prepared gluten-free menu (though it took a few minutes to retrieve). Attentive service and great deserts. Over-all a good experience from start to finish."

"Took the wife for date night. As usual the food and service were outstanding. Brenners is my go to when she needs a great night out. We dropped $400 (included 2 dinners, 2 salads, 2 family sides, 2 desserts, and 2 bottles of champagne) and was worth every penny.
The bone in ribeye is by far THE best steak I have ever tasted. It will put anything Ruth's Chris, Morton's, or The Ritz Carlton has to shame!!!!
I took her there on our first date (she had never been) and her exact quote was, "you have ruined steak for the rest of my life. NOTHING will ever compare to brenners!""

"The night I visited was the 1st night of the new menu. New menus generally, in my experience are an opportunity to raise prices, or at least raise the average cover. In this Brenner's succeeded.
I had previously gone here 3 times, and had an excellent meal of meat loaf, a regular menu item. Yes, meat loaf at a steak house, because they use great beef to make it, not just hamburger. Well, guess what they expunged from the menu: Meat Loaf. This not only increased the food bill by about 50%, but made for a disappointing, and maybe the last visit. I don't enjoy changing some free mashed potatoes for a $9.00 baked potato.
The view of the water falls in the garden are nice."

"The food was decent at Brenner's but it was not anything special. I could make the same steak at home for 3/4th the price.
The service was non existent. We had to wait to order several minutes and it was not busy. Then we decided to go sit out on the patio and the only time we saw our server after that was when he brought us our dessert. He never checked on us again and we had to go back inside and get someone else to get him for our check.

"We really enjoyed our dinner at Brenner's. We were celebrating my dad's 85th birthday. He was a regular at one time, however, he has not been there in over 20 years....it was so great to hear him and my mom reminisce about their past experience's at Brenner's. The gardens are as beautiful as ever. The food was cooked to perfection and the presentation was awesome. We were looking for a nice quite place with excellant food/wine and found that at Brenner's."

"We had a very nice time at Brennan's. It is a quaint little restaurant with a beautiful backyard view. We were first seated at an extremely small table that seemed to be just placed in the middle of other tables in the restaurant. Thankfully, one of the managers must have clued into our body language and maybe expressions as people and waitstaff passed by and occasionally bumped into us. He came over and offered to move us to a newly opened larger table situated in a corner, which was more private and much more comfortable. Much better! Thank you! We watched as other patrons were seated at the small table and rejected it promptly. From then on, the experience was wonderful! We would go back again. Attentive staff & great!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Brenner's. It was our first time to go, but it won't be our last. We had a wonderfully-clever and attentive waitress, Ashley, who did a fine job telling us about the restaurant's history. "I was expecting to have a nice quiet dinner, but it was shockingly very loud. It took away from our dinner, and I don't think I would select Brenner's for a romantic dinner in the future. You may as well go to Chili's it is just as loud. The food was very good, but not sure why you would serve the fried shrimp by pushing them into the mashed potatoes, it made the crust soggy, and I did not enjoy the combined flavors! Fried shrimp should not be soggy. Everyone else at the table ate steak, and all were cooked perfectly. Side dishes were excellent and our waitress was excellent and very friendly, we did not have to wait for anything... Overall we truly enjoyed our experience."

"This is probably our favorite restaurant in Houston and we drive from Clear Lake to go there. Food and service was great. Our meats were prepared perfectly (and always have been there). This is sometimes a challenge for my wife who likes her meat close to well done which often either comes out under-done or near burnt at some restaurants, but Brenner's always gets it right. We usually eat there somewhat early (around 6:30), so this time we ate about 7:30 which was fine, but it became a bit noisier later in the evening which we weren't used to. Obviously all the diners were having a good time and enjoying their meal and good conversation."
