"We went here for brunch on Mother's Day. I had never been to this restaurant and was very impressed with the food/service.
We were seated by a window upstairs that had a very pretty view of the garden in the back. Our server named 'Trey' was excellent and attended to our needs perfectly. I ordered the crab cakes on the brunch menu and they were delicious.
Everyone in my party enjoyed our time here and we would all return again."

"The one thing I really didn't like was that at other restaurants when the staff knows you're there celebrating a birthday, they surprise the birthday person with a song, a desert or a little something extra to make it special (when I made my reservations, i slecifically told them it was a birthday dinner). Here they just came out and offered desert and when my boyfriend passed on the desert the waiter stated "I wanted to write Happy Birthday on a plate for you"... My thought... "Umm... So why didn't you without asking?..." That was the only negative about my experience here, but overall amazing place to celebrate special occasions, but make sure to reiterate that you're celebrating something or they won't do something for you."

"How much better can you get than Great Food and Great Service! The manager (Taylor/Tyler?) granted and catered to very unique request. The entire waitstaff made our party of 5 feel extremely welcomed. I will come back and recommend this place to anyone. The rib eye was cooked to perfection. Lamb was tasty and didn't have that strong odor like some other places do. Lobster Bisque was tasty. Everything was exceptional. The wait staff was excellent even with so many private parties being hosted. Thank you Brenner's!"

"I want to say I definitely enjoyed my recent visit to Brennar's. In fact I was stuck in traffic and was late for my reservation I called the restaurant to tell I would be late they were very friendly and assured me that I would have my table when I arrived. When I arrived the other people in my party were at the table and we enjoyed a wonderful meal. The appetizers were great the meal was wonderful didn't have room for dessert but I'm sure that would have been spectacular. Great restaurant for business, special occasions or just because."

"The Good: Very nice dining atmosphere. Service was very good. Our waiter was quite young but attentive just enough and well presented. The bacon wrapped quail was well cooked & tasty. The crab cakes were very tasty.
Things to improve: Some of the forks were well used, but not quite as bad a buffet forks. The scallop was tasty & well cooked, but the sauce completely over powered the scallop with an over use of dill. The braised pork short rib was bland w/o the sauce.
The bad: The $19 Crab Infused Mac & Cheese tastes and looks like Kraft Mac & Cheese with a little crab meat in it & a bit of cheddar on top. The waiter said the appetizer was a split ap for 2, each w/ quail, crab cake, & scallop. Yet I was billed for 2 appetizers."

"Both fish plates were medium at best and the presentation was poor, the explanation was that we had ordered without butter and the fish stuck to the grill, that never has been a problem at other restaurants.

The menu is not huge but well rounded and the food is very good. "My wife and I always recommend Brenner's on the Bayou. It's in the middle of the city but you feel like you're on a retreat somewhere. Food is always fantastic as well as the waitstaff. They have an extensive wine list that is sure to have something that strikes your fancy. Out on the patio they have the Blue Bar, a modern yet sophisticated place to get some after dinner drinks (or before dinner)."

"Went to Brenners to celebrate a birthday, just the two of us. We were promptly seated. First thing I noticed immediately was the fact that my chair and table were listing slightly to the left and my chair was a little slippery and I did not find it relaxing. Our waiter was great and the food was very good. The music which they have playing is designed to get you to drink and eat fast so they can turn the table and I found the music slightly annoying. My date ordered the fried shrimp and wanted to substitute something for the french fries and they would not not allow her to do so. That is ridiculous. My filet was very good. The room temperature was very good, I was able to leave my jacket on which was nice. All in all 7/10"

"This restaurant is a top choice for me in Houston. The food is fantastic and so is the service. If you like a romantic restaurant this is the place. I was here for Sunday Brunch and it was wonderful. The prices were not too bad either."

"Food was great, excellent atmosphere and wonderful night out to dinner. Only issue to me was the "upselling" from the waiter. Every visit to the table felt like a "sale" versus really serving us on a night out. Nice and attentive, but the sales focus kept this from being an outstanding experience."

"We had Sunday brunch on the back patio. Selection was somewhat limited as noted by the vegan in our party. The build your own omelette with added lump crab disappointed as there was very little crab. I've had this before however without complaint. For an additional cost they have a lovely bread basket filled with sweet muffins and scones. The service was pleasant and accommodating and the ambience is very comfortable and relaxing."

"We had been there many many years ago when it was Rainbow Lodge. We thought it would be a quiet place with a pretty view for our anniversary. However there were 2 weddings that evening so, needless to say, the place was hopping. We got a table located at the door to the wedding reception and every time it opened the noise was deafening. Luckily, while we were drinking cocktails, the manager came over, said he had a cancellation and moved us upstairs. Staff is very accommodating. The food is good, nothing outstanding. Typical steak house where all you get for the price is white late with the meat and everything else is extra which adds up to a pricey meal.
Would we go back? Maybe on a week night, but probably not"
