Review 5 for Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"Food and service were outstanding. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. With each course, we were constantly amazed at the flavors and presentation. Starting with the caviar an intersting and non-traditional combination with a small lobster salad. Very nice contrast of flavors. The Halibut with mustard seed...just a stunning flavor palate. I would have thought that mustard seed would have over powered the halibut...not so! NY steak...my goodness...perfectly prepared with a perfectly light bernaise. The service was attentive but not over zealous. We never had to ask for a thing. Our server was kind, friendly, not at all stuffy, and her general demeanor simply added to the perfect experience. Would I go again...a resounding YES!!!"

Review 7 for Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"After too many repeats at Gary Danko, fussing with the plates at Michael Mina, and journeys to French Laundry that always included at least one course we didn't like, Seasons has become our new Special Occasion destination. On our most recent visit , I had the butter poached Maine lobster. It came with spring onion cakes, sweet pea flan and baby artichokes all in a truffle foam. Perfectly blended and beautifully presented, it may be the single best plate of food I've ever had. My parents, who prefer simpler cooking, had rack of lamb and fish from the grill. Each was top quality and served with a choice of side dish. Service was smooth and gracious and the tables nicely spaced. All this, and a very fair bill. We will return!"

Review 11 for Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"The service at the Four Seasons Restaurant is unexcelled.
My dining experience is usually for lunch
The Hostess, as well as the host is without a doubt the most wonderful and gracious, along with the Staff who we request as servers, Twania, ,Yuri, Luis, the best and the most professional ,beyond any restaurant in San Francisco.
Their backups are also first class and totally add to the experience of fine dining.
Pierre the lunch chef, is also a delight as I can always expect him to be spontaneous, original, and once again a total class in presentation if something is requested other than on the menu.
This restaurant is one of San Francisco’s greatest adventures if one is looking for top quality dining all across the board."

Review 14 for Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"Although hotel cuisine is not exactly what I consider to be the creme de la creme of a "foodie" experience, Seasons at the Four seasons definitely impressed me with their friendly service and delicious food. The simple Californian fare was perfectly prepared, with just a touch of fanciful flair. I started with a simple salad with superbly sweet strawberries and paired with a rich cheese, and followed with a perfectly poached salmon with butter foam. Their innovative mango ravioli was a fun mango-filled jellybean that explodes into a coconut rice pudding, and their chocolate-covered vanilla mousse with banana foster filling was such an elegant way to end my dining experience. They even gave me ice cream bonbons at the end."

Review 15 for Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"The food was excellent! I was really glad to try this place out with the dine-about price b/c I will probably want to go back on other occasions. The restaurant's not so big but the decor is grand and their waiting area was nice and cozy. My peeps were a lil tardy so I had to wait a bit out there but didn't mind it at all. Anyhow, I tried to eat a bit of everything and not disappointed at all. The wine flight they suggested was yummy (except dessert wine, but that's b/c I don't care for dessert wine in general)."

"Great dine about town menu, I personally think it's better than the one from January. I must say the Salmon dish was one of the best, it was slow cooked perfectly, just barely cooked so that the fish is not dry at all. The vanilla moose was OMG good!"

Review 18 for Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"On a level above the street, ask for a window seat overlooking Market. An attractive yet refined room, longer than wide, with light/medium woods and interesting art, includes a view of the kitchen. Service was efficiently friendly. Food here is very fine, just short of great. A bit too many ingredients that failed to blend in a sauce for a mustard crusted halibut. Virtually all else was pleasantly prepared with obviously fresh ingredients. All courses were well balanced though often complex. An outstanding kitchen we would try again and where we would not hesitate to dine if invited, or if asked to recommend. However, given the number of restaurants in San Francisco, there are a few others we'd have to try before going back on our own."

"We went for lunch before a matinee show. We have done this before and once again were quite impressed. We really appreciate good service, and these people are trained properly, yet do not come across as pretentious. Very profession attention to detail, and yet somehow down to earth at the same time. Food is fabulous also, and taste portions were provided for the soup and spirits without asking. Very nice."

Review 27 for Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"We stumbled upon Seasons searching for a last-minute reservation for Easter brunch. We were out-of-town visitors and used the Open Table site to get to the restaurant site.

We arrived to discover that rather than a typical Easter brunch, we could have an appetizer and seafood buffet, and one of four entrees. This was fine, although not what we had planned and primed ourselves for. The entree choices included butter-poached monkfish, lamb, squab and a vegetarian choice. All a bit heavy for noon.

The service was lovely, and food carefully prepared. We were shocked at the price - $98 per person - which was mentioned nowhere on the website or the menu that day. "If you have to ask..."

It was lovely but a bit disappointing."

Review 29 for Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"The food at Seasons is exceptional. Every little bit we had was beautiful in layout, exquisite in taste, and creative in composition. The ambiance is almost perfect, and it would if the four horrible pop-art lamps would not contradict the otherwise very consistent style. The service was attentive, efficient, professional, and it would be perfect if the touch of arrogance would not be in the face of some of the waiters. The wine list if up-scale, and the wines at the lower-end of the price list (we just don't go for bottles in the $200 to $1200 range :-) ) are appropriate. The quiet setting with some piano music flowing in from the adjacent bar provides a perfect frame for an excellent dinner inspiring thoughtful conversations."

"This restaurant is already a choice that we want to try but with the Appetite Stimulus Plan we push up the dinner within the promotion dates. The special menu is an awesome deal but then there is only ONE choice. So therefore with our party of 3 we only chose one special menu. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great and everyone is friendly. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary that night and stated on the reservation, but it is so odd that it didn't get mentioned. We were at least expecting a chocolate bar with the "Happy Anniversary" word on it when we ordered our dessert. This is very disappointing and this is the only restaurant that have not made our night special."

Review 37 for Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"+ The food was really good, my steak was perfectly done, lobster bisque was wünderbar
+ Great view of Market Street and urban action below, never knew what the top of the trolleys looked like before
+ Comfortable chairs and just the right amount of service I thought

- Wife didn’t feel a ‘rapport’ with the waiter (what does that mean really?)
- She also didn’t like the open kitchen, said it cheapened the ambience (niggles...)
- Breadsticks looked like chopsticks and tasted like such
- corkage was $25 per bottle

Overall for me I give it an 'A-' and a 'B' from the wife"

Special Features: good for groups, late-night find, romantic, special occasion, scenic view, great for lunch
