"7pm dinner on a Sunday evening on their small "Romeo and Juliet" balcony. For a brief moment felt like we were in Verona!
The salmon main course was delicious and cooked a little pink in the middle. The Paella was lavished with seafood but a little soggy. I would have preferred a little more rice that way it would have absorbed more of the seafood stock. The Pinot Noir, La Crema, was just the right match for both dishes. The service was well timed and great Would dine there again if in the area."

"Even though the food was very good and the service was attentive, it was incredibly noisy--so much so that we probably will not be back--so much for a special, romantic pre-Mother's Day dinner! Definitely a hoppin' place for the beefcake and cheesecake crowd."

"The food was divine. The server was probably the best one we've EVER had anywhere. He scheduled our tapas dishes to come out with perfect timing and even suggested the order based on the presentation on the palate. He suggested an excellent wine for me as well (and I'm pretty picky about that). The busers were very quick to clear the tables. It was a beautiful meal and wonderful experience."

"Went here for Mother's Day with a reservation. After being seated, our server was extremely kind and started us off with two Samuel Smith Light beers and gave us some recommendations on what was good and what the kitchen had on special for the day. After ordering oysters and a filet mignon pot pie (which was very tasty) we ordered our main entrees. I had the duck burger with a sirloin patty after our server recommending it to us. There is no burger in this world that can come up to par with that burger; IT WAS THE BEST THING, EVER! A must have if you ever go there. Also don't forget their shoestring fries tossed in garlic and herbs, very good as well."

"My husband and I went to Watermarc with another couple Saturday night. We were seated upstairs next to the balcony overlooking the courtyard and the twinkle-lighted pepper tree. The ambiance was wonderful; it felt like we were in a posh treehouse. Cocktails (try the signature Watermarc) were delicious and not weak, and my husband was excited to see Chimay on the drink menu. We ordered several small plates, and especially loved the bacon wrapped dates and fried goat cheese. As for entrees, the scallops, salmon and filet 3 ways were all big hits, as was the potato purée trio; quite honestly, everything was sooo good. I'm so glad we decided to give Watermarc a try."

"One of our favorite restaurants in Laguna Beach! We came last night after our engagement photo shoot and our photographer liked the decor and decided to take a few shots in the restaurant. "We had a great night sharing small plates and a couple of carafes of wine. The food was enjoyable, from the bacon-wrapped dates to the filet mignon pot pie. The service was attentive but not hovering. My only complaint was we were upstairs and it's cramped up there. Our two-top was crammed in between a four-top and another two-top, and let's just say the eight of us enjoyed our meal together.
I would go back, but I'd do my best to get seated downstairs."

"This is the second time that I have been to the Watermarc, and I thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The tapas are outstanding. You could order several to share in lieu of a meal and it would be perfect. I have now tried 2 entrees, the short ribs and the scallops, and they were both delicious. "We liked the menu on their website, and even more once we were promptly seated at our reservation time. Watermarc's location across from Main Beach in downtown Laguna Beach is great. We got windowside seats,& could people watch both inside & outside. More importantly, we could hear ourselves speak. Although the restaurant is loud, it's a pleasant buzz, or at least it was from our table. Try the Dates wrapped in bacon, you'll thank me! The ricotta cheese & lamb chop small plates are also superb. Service was wonderful, worth many more trips."

"Great selection of small plates and large plates. As a vegetarian, appreciated all the well-prepared vegetable dishes as sides available. Put together a delicious meal. Wait staff were attentive and informative about the food choices. Especially appreciated the comfortable noise level- so hard to find in most Laguna restaurants."

"I found Wattermarc on Tripadvisor and was not disappointed with the recommendations. We wanted to try their Beef Wellington, since not many restaurants offer that as a choice these days. Again, we were quite satisfied with the quality of the filet and the flavor and texture of the mushroom pate' as well as the pastry. Our waitress was also friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice evening out or even a casual meal."

"We had a super private table out on the balcony of the second floor, which was awesome. The food was great. We had several of the small plates (beet carpaccio, ahi watermelon skewers and burratta) and they were all yummy. We split the filet tree ways which was good but not amazing. We also had the potato purée three ways which was great and the sweet corn risotto which was excellent. Overall a great experience."

"We've been to Watermarc a number of times and the food and service are always consistent. We dine upstairs where the ambiance is quieter and more dining-like than the downstairs bar area that is more casual and noisy. We had the sizzling shrimp appetizer and for entrees the scallops and the swordfish which was the special of the evening."

"Loved the menu at Warermarc. There was 2 of us and we shared 6 dishes from the tasting menu. Really original items. Our favorites were the oysters on the half shell that had vodka lemon infused ice chips on top and the tuna watermelon skewers. Our waiter was amazing...that always makes the night special. Bread pudding on dessert menu was to die for. Only complaint was noise. Acoustics are lousy so you have to talk loud. And seating is a bit like NY where tables right next to eachother.

"We have been before and like it but this time it was a little too noisy for my liking. A big party of girls shrieking every 5 mins but they were having a good time so not a real issue. Food was good, I especially liked the bread pudding dessert."

"Would have given a 4 star for food & service if our waiter told us about the specials that were not listed on their regular menu. He made no mention of it and we ended up ordering the wrong dishes (the ones our friends recommended were on the chalk board as "specials" but we couldn't see that where we were seated). Desserts were EXCELLENT but could not make up for the main course that just were not up to par. Our kids did enjoy the burgers and since we made it for the half off burger special during their Early Bird special those burgers were worth the price."

"Cozy restaurant found while trying OC Restaurant week. Same owner as 230 Forest Ave., but not as cramped and quieter (esp upstairs). Menu is more limited than 230 Forest but food on menu was very tasty. Had hamburger, duck breasts, and red trout. Nothing but yummm from our table! Service was excellent. Impressed by the hands-on approach by general manager who checked on us and even helped with silverware and condiments. Would definitely go back."

"We were very late due to the nightmare of finding parking in this area of town. We had called to let them know we would be late & they sat up promptly when we arrived. The service gets a good rating for that along. Our server himself was horrible. He disappeared multiple times & we had issues getting anything we needed including the check. The food was good although it is a bit uninspired & boring. They make everything sound so much more fancier than it really is on the menu. The worst part is this place is LOUD! Every surface in here is hard so nothing absorbs the sound so everyone is screaming to be heard which only makes it worse. I literally walked out with a sore throat from speaking loudly enough my wife could hear me across the table"

"My wife and I enjoy Watermarc a lot. Their food has always been outstanding. We went this week to try their Orange County Restaurant Week menu and were really blown away. A truly great meal.

"One of our favorite spots to hit after a long work week. Reservation made to accommodate four, our friends arrived first and seated immediately. What took me back was they had indicated to our friends we needed to be out by 8:30, so they could accommodate a larger group at that time. This really set the mood, not only was this unacceptable, in was embarrassing. Like our reservation was with limited stay, which met only 1 hour and fifteen minutes to spend some quality time with our dear friends.
Never again, way to many restaurants in the area. So please if you decide to try this spot, make sure to ask about your table expiration...lol"

"We visited Laguna in February and enjoyed the watermark. A cool hip place. We ordered off the grazing plates. The smokeded wrapped dates were delicious as were the flatbread and the lump crab cakes. We then shared the day boat scallops and the pistachio crusted lamb. All were delicious. A great place to go and try new dishes. We were pleased to see world wines on the menu."
