At Opah Restaurant & Bar, we serve the finest fresh fish in Orange County. Carefully hand selected each day to deliver the best quality available. Come in and enjoy the menu created by Marc A. Cohen, One of the Best Chef's in Orange County. The menu is exquisite, featuring edible works of art, that look so good the could be on a magazine cover. Don’t forget to try one of our signature Award Winning Martinis, or have some wine outside near the fireplace on the patio. If you wondering how we came up with the name Opah. It comes from the Hawaiian word for Moonfish, which was once viewed as Good Luck by fisherman, & often given away as a gesture of Good Will.

"We eat at Opah often, always outside on the patio and mostly during the happy hour which ends at 6:30. The food is excellent and their happy hour prices pretty good. We love the Cioppino."

"2nd time at this location and the food taste good. I've been to the Aliso location a lot when my company was located a block away. Will be going there again, since I live not to far...but during Happy Hour, since the appetizers & drinks are more reasonably priced.
My visit was on a regular week night & a Happy Hour for 2 people. The portions vary each time for the same dish which is very annoying...about 11-33% (depending on the item). (And yes, I'm very proficient in math & visual spatial relation) I got better service/portion during Happy Hour so that's a plus to go during then, at least in my books.
Appetizers and drinks are tasty but the Aliso location is better...especially in the drinks and social crowd department."

"Opahs has gone down hill, the service right from the reception desk to the servers is lacking. Food soso nothing special anymore, flavors were bland. Can find better a place for the price. Its so sad, we used to LOVE Opah's but not anymore.. Hopefully the new items on the menu will help, but i doubt it."

"I thought the place would have more ambience but it was a bit noisy for me. The food was good but I expected more of a nicer place since the prices were a bit on the high side. I ordered the ribeye and ordered it med-rare but got more of a medium grill. My wife's dish was nice the halibut. The chocolate croissant bread pudding was good. Our waiter was good."

"Put simply, good food, nice surroundings but poor service and terrible noise at a very cramped table.
For what I paid for dinner for two, I would have expected far better service than this. A romantic dinner was anything but, when a table for two is close to other tables and the noise level is that high, you are virtually shouting.
I also don't expect main entrees to come halfway through an appetizer course and the table to be that small that heavy handed staff are balancing plates or taking appetizers away half eaten.
Not very impressive when the good food is spoilt by this. Maybe I would go for a business dinner, but I'm not paying $100+ for two entrees and two appetizers with one drink each when there are far better places to go"

"The salmon was supposed to be "fresh" that day, however it was "fishy".........The seafood salad was "blah".....I had crab only and it was questionable as there was no taste to it.We've tried Opah a few times now and decided that we would remove it from our options as each time we've been disatisfied...."

"I dine at Opah once or twice each month. With the exception of the mac & cheese dish (which I thought was terrible), I have never otherwise experienced a bad meal here. Quite the contrary, their food is consistently excellent. I particularly recommend the opah, the prosciutto-wrapped shrimp, and the penne pasta with chicken and artichokes. And if you're an oyster lover, have them here at Opah!"

"The only drawback to my first visit to OPAH's was my wife and I had to wait about 20 minutes even though we had reservations. "This is a restaurant for people who do not want to have a conversation. Exceptionally noisy. Service was slow and sporadic. Fix the front door as cold wind blows in. One group moved to get out of the draft, an option not open to all. The restaurant plan of offering one side dish with an entree is not very appealing, two smaller servings is much more attractive and healthier."

"Even though we had reservations we still had to wait 30-45 mins to be sat. When I received my food my steak was overdone. Then, our server forgot about our dessert menu and we waited about 20 mins just to look at one . After that our server never came back to take out dessert order. "Went on V-Day. Had a reservation but chaotic. Finally asked how much longer,said it would be 10 min. more for inside but they could seat us right away for outside. We chose outside,great and much quieter. We ordered our food,1 salad and 2 entrees. We waited awhile for the salad. The waitress came by and said she would check on salad. Finally got salad and then waited again. She walked by several times shocked that we hadn't gotten our entrees. The manager also came a couple times but she just made excuses about them being busy.After 30 min. got entrees and another salad(mistake)and my food was wrong,sent it back. When got it corrected, my $32 fish was size of a small lemon. After received bill offered dessert on them. Too little too late!"

"I have been coming to this restaurant for years and I am never disappointed. The food is always the freshest fish and I recently tried the roasted vegetables with the Mahi Mahi. It's the next best thing to catching your own fish! The bar is a great place to meet friends or just go after work. They have a wonderful selection of martinis and other drinks. The bartenders are friendly - not pushy and you can have a great happy hour with some great dishes like their kobe sliders or sweet potato tower. The service here is greatly improved over the years from the friendly hostess to the wait staff - no more attitude! They have a nice outside area with plenty of warmth for the winter months."

"Nice neighborhood restaurant and good seafood. Amazing service, the waiter actually split an entrée for us and brought out two complete half entrees because we said we were planning to share one entrée (but ordered two appetizers and a soup) :)

"My girlfriend and I went there for lunch. It wasn't very busy but our waitress was not attentive. We sat for a log time before she came to take our order, even though I looked at her a few times while she was standing at the hostess station.
