"My husband and I had never been to Cafe Madison before and really enjoyed our experience. The food was delicious and the desserts were to die for. It looked like they were setting up for some live entertainment when we were leaving. Would definitely go back even for drinks and music at the bar."

"We are regular diners at The Madison, both the Tavern side and Cafe Madison. The outdoor patio is beautiful. We always enjoy our meals. The Thursday night $24.95 3 course steak dinner is yummy and a great deal!"

"We have been to Cafe Madison several times for their holiday buffet. They have always had a wide selection to choose from. The selection for Mother Day was ok and we found the food to be good, but the time it took to get the food delivered and served was poor. The only way we will go back there is if they have the buffet again. We heard that the buffet was eliminated because of four complaints. Well count this has a complaint for the sit down brunch."

"As always the the food was superb, and even with a reduced menu, there were several wonderful choices to please everyone. The price fix menu had many full size appetizers to choose from, including crab risotto, calamari, and lobster bisque. Then we each got a salad and choice of 7 entrees, including peppered sirloin, pork, Bronzino fish, swordfish and rosemary chicken. We took my mother and father and our two children 12 and 14. I would not recommend this place for small children or picky eaters. We had great service and I liked that we never felt rushed. The atmosphere there is very sophisticated but not stuffy. It was very elegant that made Mother's Day feel extra special."

"All six people in our party raved over their dinner entrees. The grilled Romaine salad was very tasty and a nice change from the normal dinner salads. The Chilean Sea Bass was superb. Their new Spring Menu has some interesting steak and seafood choices. The service was great from the moment we walked in the door. I have eaten here about a half dozen times and have never been disappointed. A little pricy but well worth it. A great place to go for a special occasion."

"I eat here every chance I get: anniversaries, girls' night out, birthdays.... The Wine Cellar was the perfect spot for my BIG birthday gathering. The Café bar is the place to sit and enjoy great piano music while sipping on the bar's latest concoction. I order the lamb each visit and it is perfect every time. The wait staff is attentive without being overbearing.

The patrons, like us, were mature ~ 40yrs old and beyond. The service was outstanding. Our server was very attentive & the food came out at a good pace considering that it was a busy Friday night. The food was underwhelming and a bit expensive. My steak was flavorful but was entirely too chewy. My 6'4 husband was miserably disappointed with the 3 appetizer size lamb chops that were touted a main dish. The best part of the dinner where the modest sized appetizers, the fresh bread and butter. We spent nearly $200 & wanted to hit McDonald's on the way home. If we ever go there again, it will just be for drinks."

"They had a big party in a separate room but for at least 20 minutes all the people from the room came out into the main restaurant and the piano player played VERY loud music and the people were VERY loud. We could not hear any of our conversations. I have been to Café Madison many times and loved it but last night the service was slow and non-attentive (maybe because of the large party) and my coffee was cold. Nothing ruins a good meal then a bad cup of coffee. We have had showers there so many that's what other experienced when we had our event there but it was not a great experience last night."

"I have eaten at the connected tavern for lunch and had drinks at the bar at Madison before so I figured I would check it out for a full dinner to celebrate my fiance's promotion. I was quite disappointed at the waiter's lack of knowledge of the wine list - so much so I declined on ordering a bottle of champagne. It did not make sense to me to spend $60 on a bottle that could not be described to me how dry it was. The lobster bisque was EXTREMLY disappointing - there was not a single piece of lobster in it and it had the consistence of broth; not thick as a bisque should be. "Loved the relatively quiet dinner environment. When taking older folks out to eat, too much background noise is more than distracting - it makes the entire meal less enjoyable because you have to struggle to hear and concentrate. To my way of thinking, the piano music could have been even lower in volume and still been effective. If I felt it was a significant problem, I would have asked and I'm sure the staff would have tried to accomodate my request. The food was delicious!"

"Always an upscale menu. The presentation is top notch followed by great food. Wait staff and manager are friendly and attentive. I even saw the chef chatting with one table.
I always wish/look/hope for CRAFT beer to go with a steak, and since I asked, the staff was more than happy to go into the adjoining bar and accommodate my request for an IPA.
Overall, this is a the place to go when leaving the kids home for the night. Put on a decent outfit and go treat yourself."

"Took my family for Easter dinner. Although the menu was limited for the occasion, there were plenty of wonderful choices in each of the four course offered. Service was impeccable in a day and age when so many servers reach across customers or expect them to pass plates. Our server went out of her way, often around several tables to get from one side of our table to the other. She saw to our every need and ensured that we had a wonderful experience. Live piano music was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back!"

"Easter brunch was overpriced considering there were no stations and limited breakfast options. Bacon was undercooked and they frequently ran out of food without a prompt refill...had to keep getting back in line to get the items we wanted. Beverage service was very slow, considering we just ordered hot tea, coffee and juice.

"We attended the Easter Brunch, it was so disappointing. the building is lovely but the service and food leave a lot to be desired. The eggs on the buffet were cold. They had no omelet stations. My husband asked for a bagel for the lox and capers and was told they have no bagels only to watch a few minutes later a tray of bagels and cream cheese coming from the kitchen.
We returned from the buffet table and questioned the waiter about dessert and was told that we could find it on the buffet table. We made another attempt to find dessert on the buffet table to no avail at which point we asked a supervisor and was told that the waiter brings the dessert to your table!

"Had a very good dinner! Our table was near the front windows, but kind of just shoved in, with not enough room. A bit uncomfortable! Extremely noisy! Couple in front of us, but behind from where my man was sitting, were extremly into each other...making it very uncomfortable for thoses eating around them. They needed to find a room...quite frankly! very inappropriate actions for a classy restaurant such as Cafe Madison. Staff was very attentive! Atmosphere was great! Would absolutely come back...and recommend, as well!"

"My daughter and I had a phenomenal first experience at
Cafe Madison. We were given a tour of all the facilities by our gracious host Theresa. Dinner was beyond our expectations - we were there for Restaurant Week and there were many good choices from appetizers to dessert. Service was impeccable by Joe our server. We cant wait to go back and have recommended Cafe Madison to anyone who has not been there."

"We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and had made note on Open Table. However, nothing special was offered. It would have been a nice gesture to offer something! How many couples make it to 50 years??

"If you want to be spoiled just dine at the Madison. Our server Debbie was outstanding. Very attentive without being intrusive. Usually during restaurant week the food is mass produced at some other restaurants, but we felt the food was delicious and inventive. We always dine at the Towne Tavern part of this restaurant on a Friday night. The food is good and the bartenders cannot be beat, they make the best martini's."

"We went during retaurant week and the food was exceptional. The lamb shank was delicious. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Chef Jack even took the time to suggest a proper wine for the lamb.
My only complaint is that we were seated right in front of the fireplace and the heat was uncomfortable. It seemed nice at first but would definitely ask to move if ever seated there in the future."

"Cafe Madison is a hidden gem! It feels like you are in a big city restaurant hidden in small town riverdale. Although I only live 20 min away, I never knew the town existed. I have been there 3 times now and have enjoyed it all 3 times. The food is delicious and the service was great! Try it you will be pleasantly surprised."

"Nice bar with cordial, professional bartender. Live piano adds to the ambiance. This was not our first time at The Madison and the food has been consistently very good. However, this time, our waiter seemed unclear when describing some of the entrees on the menu. He also needs some instruction on serving wine.......he was a little too aggressive pouring over already half full glasses. Admittedly a small complaint about an otherwise lovely meal."

"Our experience at Cafe Madison was wonderful. Scott, our waiter, checked on gluten free offerings and substitutes, gave good recommendations and was very friendly and attentive. The scallops were the best I've ever had. We will definitely be going back."
