"I made a reservation through Open table, I asked for ouside seating if the weather is good which it was, however when I arrived they prompty tried to seat me inside, when there was available seating outside and a very nice day, what is the point of making a special request if you do not make any attempt to read it. If you did you would have known what my seating presference was. It was only after I told the host I requested outside seating did I get seated in the outdoor patio."

"Recomened to us as a must go to on our trip to Vancouver. It was my birthday, my husband rented bycyles and we toured Stanley Park then stopped at theTea House for lunch. It's a beautiful spot, nice view, nice atmosphere. We had a reservation but still waited another 20 min for an inside table. Really nice deck and well appointed restuarant. Service was effecient but average, I observed some great service around us. Pick your table if you can - we ended up squished into a little corner table. It is one of those places you go to for "an experience". Worth another shot so we will give it another try some day and will hopefully get the "experince"."

"My husband and I used to come to the Teahouse often when we lived in Vancouver (over 25 years ago) and were delighted to enjoy a very special 39th anniversary dinner there on June 7th on a weekend visit. On June 14th we're back in Vancouver to stay so we expect that we'll enjoy this very wonderful restaurant often, as before, especially as it's walking distance from our new home. Their rooms and their spacious patio for sunny, warm summer meals are very, very nice. The servers are amiable and attentive and great at giving good selection advise geared to the diners' likes."

"Amazing setting at the end of Stanley Park with West Van shoreline to the north and UBC shoreline to the south. Great vista of the harbour entrance in a wonderfully pastoral landscaped setting. The menu is somewhat limited but the service is good and the staff is really pleasant. Overall a great experience"

"Awesome place! Our server was friendly and attentive. Food was awesome! Coming from Hawai'i, I was amazed with the quality of the seafood here! The salmon and scallops were not overcooked, moist and juicy! If you love fish and chips I highly recommend that you order it! It was one of the best I've ever had anywhere!"

"My wife and I love this place, it's in a wonderful location on the edge of Stanley Park, food is excellent and the service level very good indeed. Lots of light with windows all around. The rack of lamb was particularly noteworthy. A long established tradition in Vancouver, well worth a visit.
ps. Don't forget Stanley Park is pay parking, even for the restaurant."

"I reserved a table since my friend came to visit my family. Receptionist was good and table was well setting. I came over to Teahouse because of the rib meal and scenic view. What a pity was that rib meal sold out and we were suggested to try steak. Steak was below normal and was not worth the price. Foods for kids were ok and my two boys enjoyed. Regarding service, it was approaching fair. Waiter was busy chatting with customers and overlooked our sign, even I had to sent my boy to ask for service. It was an interesting experience but below my expectation. My friend disliked the food and service except of the good senic view."

"It's a rare find to read a menu which lists so many dishes I'd love to order. Our party of four each enjoyed our appetizers and entres (fish and chips, sable fish, ceasar salad with prawns, calamari, and highly recommend the restaurant and ambiance. The portions were perfect as well. We'll definitely be back."

"This came highly recommended by a UBC student and it certainly made it as a highlight on our trip. They offer both interior and alfresco dining. As this restaurant is inside Stanley Park, the ambience was set in very lush flora overlooking the harbor. It was the perfect first dining experience on our trip. The menu selection was awesome and our selections were superb ( fresh Halibut and seared tuna salad ) I highly recommend this experience!"

"I had the tenderloin which was delicious, but it was served with very plain, flavourless French fries. They didn't even look made in house, not nicely brown. Just pale, hard and starchy. The onion rings were tasty but very greasy - it's deep fried so I guess the oil was just too cool maybe but not a huge concern. The worst part of the night was the waiter himself. He seemed in his own little world and rather ignoring us (bigger tips to be had elsewhere he thought?). He was skilled at avoiding eye contact yet asked twice in 3 min. how we liked our entrée when finally served. Ordering dessert was like catching lightning in a bottle. Finally my mother-in-law said loudly "Excuse me sir" to get his attention and then only waited a few more min."

"My date and I ordered steak and frites, and tenderloin. But beforehand we had ordered stuff mushrooms and clam chowder. The clam chowder was different from our regular clam chowders as this was the manhattan style and not the New England style, but was delicious. The fries that came with the mains were delicious and did not feel oily. The steak was medium rare and tasted delicious but had a large tendon attached. The tenderloin was served in three slices, delicious. Our waitress would always come and check on us and was very friendly and knowledgable. Great restaurant to bring a date to or to enjoy and celebrate a special occasion!"

"The setting couldn't be better. The Teahouse sits above the seawall in Vancouver's Stanley Park. We sat outside in a patio area with heaters.

"An early evening dinner with window seats for late-day sun and wonderful ocean views - what's not to like? Almost the only people in the restaurant to start, but it filled gradually as the evening progressed. Effusive friendly service. Food competently prepared and presented; nothing too adventurous on the menu. Encouraged by staff to linger over our coffee...so we did!"

"My husband and i took our mothers, and my grandmother here for a special mothers day celebration. We all cannot stop raving about this little gem! Amazing scenic drive through Stanley Park only to pull up to the most magnificent flower garden lining the front of the restaurant, and the view of the coastline with mountains off to the side. Once we made our way inside the atmosphere was classy and energetic. We were lucky enough to snag a table on the patio and with the weather cooperating, the service staff were all outstanding and each plate looked like a work of art coming out of the kitchen. Everyone was not only pleased with their meals appearance but with the taste! Would certainly recommend and we will be returning again one day!"

"From the moment we made our reservation for last Friday night to the very end of the meal the entire experice at the TeaHouse was absolutely outstanding. The food, ambiance and service made the night memorable. We had the Salmon and Tuna entres, a salad to start, French wine and a delicious chocolate dessert at the end. Parking was a bit challenging but we figured it out."

"With entrees ranging from 25 to 35 I would expect a different level of service. After we finished our apps and entrees it took the server about 15 mins to clear our table after each service. There were a few errors such as not bringing me my refill when she asked me if I wanted another and my bill was jncorrect when I received it....this is not uncommon even in higher end restaurants.
My rack of lamb and my father's shrimp and tenderloin was good, but my wife and mother didn't enjoy the duck confit nor the salmon as it was overdone.I would not come back again as their are too many other better restaurants out there. Not sure why it got a 88 review on urbanspoon. As someone who works in the hospitality business I would not come back."

"The food and service were excellent and this combined with spectacular view and clear weather made the occassion for us. The only flaw was the noise level - we dined early and the level was moderate but as the evning progressed it was almost impossible to carry on a good conversation without yelling. (a common problem with most restaurants)"

"We had an incredibily memorable evening on Friday May 3rd - we had friends visiting from North Carolina so there is not a better spot ANYWHERE in Vancouver to show off our city. The food was terrific, and of course the service by our waitress Fil was OUTSTANDING as always....we shall be returning very soon!"

"My last 3 or 4 visits have been outstanding. The staff are wonderful - friendly, helpful, professional, really going the extra mile - as are the view and the food. I especially love the croissants at brunch. It looks like everyone is really really determined to get things right, and they succeed. And what a sweet little spot to watch the sun go down. I love to eat by the water, and I love a nice patio too."

"The Teahouse Restaurant has a prime location in Stanley Park. The view is spectacular, but throw in a sunset and it's wondrous. As with the other Sequoia restaurants, the food is very good. At our table with four diners, we had the short ribs, the halibut and the salmon. Each was nicely presented and well prepared. The service was friendly and efficient."

"Dining in the 'Observatory' with a beautiful view of Vancouver;the water; the mountains; the set sun's last rays of orange and brown was a beautiful accompaniment to our meal!
And the food, though nothing hip or fancy ingredient-wise, was beautifully styled and was very pleasing to the palette; we had the halibut and the salmon... and ordered the cheese plate for dessert.
The one thing i would say is that they should add one more cheese to the cheese plate... to round it out, and perhaps some sliced fruit; such as pear. Although I understand that perhaps the lack of fruit or adornment is due to local availability ..."

"The food was not a good as expected. It used to be better.
Duck confit was confused. I never thought of tasting this classic french dish with black, bittered soy sauce before. The duck leg was fine. But the sauce make be feel i was having chinese food instead of classic french dish. It was not written in the menu that they were going to make a fusioned french dish.
We also ordered a side of Pomme Frites with truffle aioli but I cant taste or smell any truffle at all. It was like i was having McDonald's french fries.
I told the manager the truth about the food quality but it seemed like him didn't care. Most people would just tell him what he want to hear and won't come back but I told him because of i want to come back to better food."

"I took my wife for dinner for a special occasion and mentioned it to the restaurant when I made the reservation on Open Table. We were seated by a large dinner party and was pretty much neglected for most of the evening. Waited forever for the bread and the bill to come. Waiter and waitress was move attentive to the party and others."

"I have been to the Teahouse on many occasions through its various changes and have always enjoyed the experience. On my last visit I particularly noticed how welcoming and friendly all of the staff were towards the public. The food is great, the setting is lovely and it is a great place to bring visitors."
