"This restaurant and other Culina restaurants are a fantastic choice for those who are looking for a new taste experience. They use local ingredients I understand so this is also a great place for those who like to shop local, eat seasonal foods and support local businesses. It not the best choice however if your kids are used to mom's cooking and are a little hesitant to try new foods. Ambiance was nice, music was perfect - not too loud or soft, the service - exceptional!"

"I booked a reservation for my birthday brunch and it was delicious! I had the tofu scramble - a delicious vegan combo of tomatoes, mushrooms, chickpeas, and tofu piled onto a shallow plate with sweet potato toast. If it hadn't been so hot, I would have had a mint julep to celebrate! Definitely stopping in again and hoping to try the wine bar next door."

"My partner and I seek places that strive to utilize local and organic ingredients whenever possible and that value the ethical treatment of any animals they provide in their dishes and we are so vey pleased that Culina's existence is founded upon these principles. Even more special is the kindness and consideration that their staff exhibits. We drove 5 hours to celebrate our anniversary at Culina and they went the extra mile for us and prepared an extra special anniversary message for our dessert. Their attention to detail in all respects is obvious and I would highly recommend Culina as it represents exactly where we need to be going in creating sustainable food systems that are good for the earth and extremely tasty for the belly!"

"I'm going to understate this review, like Culina understates their menu: pretty decent.
Now that I'm done the understatement, let me say that this place is nothing short of amazing. We went there for brunch on Saturday and had an incredible meal.
It all started at the start: we could (and did) make reservations. That way there was no standing in a long line (like at Cora's), or wondering if there would EVER be a table. Nope... walked in, seated immediately.
The menu understated everything -- "Bacon & Eggs"? No, more like an incredible fritata, served with pulled pork and just the right amount of mushroom gravy. "Cheddar Scramble"? No, more like Perogies & Kolbasa, served with a wonderfully fluffy egg/cheese scramble/omelette."

"My husband and I had been living out of the country for the last year and we had been really missing Culina for brunch. We went last weekend and it was even better than we remembered. The perogies are the best in the city (don't tell my Baba I said that). The staff were very attentive and were happy to accommodate a couple of dietary requests we had.
The menu is small, but each dish has been perfected so that the flavours all complement each other. It's a vegetarian/vegan-friendly place, and the atmosphere is calm and cozy.

"The service was pleasant and the atmosphere comfortable at Culina.
That being said, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for vegetarians or vegans. The vegetarian food seemed as though it wasn't very well thought out or executed. My SO and I both had the veggie sandwich which had thick slices of zucchini which tended to squeeze out the sides of the bread. Also, the curry sauce on the sandwich was neither flavorful nor spicy, and the cream cheese seemed like an odd addition - something sweet would have been nicer. The side of cheesy fries was a forgettable French fry with about 3 shreds of flavorless cheese melted on top. Might be better if you're having meat with your dish."

"We were there for the 9th anniversary beer dinner. Overall the food was quite good - the batter on the fish was a bit thick for my husband's liking, but I liked it (nice and crispy); the boar belly could have been braised longer and the sauce reduced rather than served as a consommé, and it was too sweet for a number in our party; the dessert was a stand-out winner, both by itself and with the paired beer. Our major complaint was definitely that there was too long in between courses - the four course meal took about 3 hours. Otherwise, good food, nice pairings, and lovely servers."

"Hey we went for brunch this past Saturday. It was super cold in the restaurant. Not enough servers working so our service was quite slow. My quinoa/ chickpea scramble was not what I was expecting. I must have gotten it confused with the egg / quinoa scramble you used to have which was Hot / flavorful & delicious. This was somewhat lukewarm and bland ;0(."

"Great place! love the eclectic vibe. After dinner we hopped over to Bibo ( wine bar next door) and had a blast, the attendant thee was awesome, super friendly.
Food as usual was delicious, I had been there one before for brunch. They have the best cornbread in town."

"Just a really solid restaurant, small, limited menu, everything well done. Non intrusive wait staff, just the right amount of non obsequious service, food and drink come out in timely manner, portions are reasonable, not too small or too large, tastes are comforting and well seasoned. Cons; no salt and pepper on the tables.....the food is well seasoned but i like to sprinkle a little salt on my yolks once i have broken them open in my eggs benedict and huevos rancheros for example. Special not verbalized while ordering which we would have ordered and a small child screaming in a small restaurant. PEOPLE!!! leave your kids at home!!!!"

"We arrived a bit early for our 11am reservation but were seated immediately. The menus were on the table already so there was no waiting for someone to bring them to us. Once we ordered the food was brought out quickly and it was fantastic! My friend and I were both really impressed with our meals. The potatoes that came with the eggs Benedict were a bit spicy, which is a nice change from the same old plain potatoes that most places serve. My friend ordered the bacon and eggs and couldn't stop raving about how good it was. And we appreciated the fact our server checked to make sure that everything was ok and was there to refill our coffee."
