red/bar has the look of a sophisticated Hamptons house: creamy white walls, hardwood floors, potted palms, and wainscoting. Newsday reviewer Peter Gianotti commented, “The place has a glow to it.” New York Magazine wrote, “With its bentwood chairs, large windows, and candlelight, it manages to be both social and romantic.” Red bar’s outstanding service – “Super” according to the New York Times – ensures that whatever the occasion, red bar brasserie delivers a wonderful dining experience.
"Red Bar food, service and owners special tough were wonderful - restaurant week is an extraordinary treat. If kids had their brussel sprouts there wouldn't be a diabetes epidemic. The noise level and crowds during the summer are unbearable - see you September!"

"Had dinner during restaurant week and was fully expecting a limited menu with small portions. Not the case. The menu was extensive and the portions normal size. The salad was delicious and I had salmon for an entree. The salmon was a little undercooked for me, but I did not send back. My dining partner had a delicious soup and pork shank. The dessert menu was varied, and delicious. Our server was prompt and courteous. Glen, the matre d was delightfull. I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning soon."

"I loved Red Bar! The service was excellent and the menu was varied. It was difficult to decide what to order. I settled on the Crackling Fried Pork Shank which was so gorgeous I had to take a picture of it. It was also amazing: crispy on the outside and tender and moist inside. It was served with green lentils and an apple and prune sauce on the side. I highly recommend it! We will definitely return!!"

"Three times a charm. Red Bar/Brasserie is a Great Southampton stalwart. Wonderful ambience. Great food. Don't mix it up with Little Red like we did the first time."

"Dinner at Red Bar started on a sour note. The driveway is set at an acute angle. Bottom of car scraped mercilessly when entering parking lot. I drove on to parking lot at less than 5 mph, but was upset hearing the front air dam of our car scraping on the driveway. Upon entering I told the maitre D' who told me the owners had complained to the town but Southampton town hasn't done anything about it. Small conciliation when I have to drop my car off at body shop to fix. So do not even think about eating here unless you drive an SUV or pick. Things worsened with dinner. Cod bland and under seasoned. Bucatini with crab overcooked and acidic. Sent pasta back but second time pasta even more overcooked. Would not return or recommend."
