"We held my son's college graduation dinner here. We were a group of nine. We came on a Monday night to avoid a rushed scene, and it was pretty full but relaxed. The service was great, very attentive and personable. The guys enjoyed the beers on tap. Menu was fun."

"Celebrated my birthday with 6 friends. Had to accomodate a larger group at the last minute (day before) and Benjy's came up on OpenTable as available. Great service and food. We all loved the brussels sprouts & crab cakes. Several people got the pork chop/belly and enjoyed it. My husband ate the chicken/sausage pizza and I had the octopus & we both cleaned our plates."

"The staff seems a little Impresed with themselves ... The greeter seemed annoyed we were there ... The server was adequate, but we really did seem like we were intruding on his afternoon. Pricey and adequate but there are just lots of other places to eat that have it all together."

"We took our daughter and her husband here for her birthday. The food is exceptional - great menu, good quality food and wonderful presentation. I did, however, mention in my note to Open Table when making the reservation that we would be celebrating our daughter's birthday but there was no mention of it by anyone at the restaurant."

"Got the best score on zagat but the service was pretty poor, the food was average and the ambience was jut ok. Decidedly average all round. We had to ask a cleaner to arrange a taxi as everyone else seemed to have left an it was only 11pm. Underwhelmed."

"It was a fixed menu since we went for Easter Brunch. My sister and I enjoyed the food but my husband did not. The background music was way too loud for the morning and made it hard to talk. The bloody mary drinks that we ordered were very spicey and good."

"My wife and I went there for the first time. We were thoroughly impressed. The food was outstanding! My wife's favorite snack is popcorn, and what appears on our table right away? Popcorn! We were provided a free appetizer because it was our first time there, the goat cheese was fantastic. Our entrees were very good, as well as the dessert. "Benjy's was recommended to us on our recent visit to Houston. I would return, but I'd probably order differently. While our cocktails, salad, and crispy brussels sprouts were an outstanding start to the meal, my crunchy chicken was dry and luke warm when it arrived. I imagine it was probably really good about 8 minutes before it got to the table. My partner's paella was flavorful, but quite different from a conventional paella, with an almost Asian quality to it. Nothing wrong with it, just different than what he was hoping for when he ordered it."

"We had to wait quite a bit on our waiter. We got drinks at the upstairs bar and brought them down when our table was ready and waited a good 10 minutes before anyone came over. The food was great, our only complaint is that we didn't see our server much, and didn't get a chance to ask questions about anything. We went ahead and ordered so we didn't have to wait on him to return. I'd recommend to a friend only because we've been there before and know that it's usually wonderful."

"Great, inventive menu that apparently changes often according to seasonal availability of ingredients. I had trouble making up my mind about what to order as there was so much to try. The interior is nice and open creating a feeling of spaciousness, but they've arranged the tables and booths to be far enough apart to give a sense of privacy. Everything was good, and the service was well-paced and attentive. It's a bit on the expensive side, and the wine list could use some diversity, but overall I was VERY satisfied with my first visit, I will definitely go back."

"We requested a table for 5 due to having an 11-month old who grabs everything off the table. We were instead seated at a table for 4 that was cramped and difficult to fit all of the food out of the baby's reach. The 5 of us were dressed up and ready for a really good dining experience. The service was very good except for a few forgotten requests. The food was fair, but most dishes were too rich or had too many flavors to be enjoyable. Overall, the experience was fair, but we will not choose this restaurant again despite the fact that its walking distance from our house."

"Everything was wonderful. I just wish the retaurant would consider valet parking at lunch time. I have been there a few times for lunch and there were no more parking spaces in their lot. I would suggest arriving at noon or earlier for lunch due to the parking."

"Benjy's is a fine "farm-to-table" restaurant. The food is always fresh, prepared well, and never overdone. They let the fresh, local, seasonal ingredients speak for themselves. The menu is creative, yet accessible; the service is professional and friendly (I had an issue with one of my side dishes and the manager came right over to address it promptly); the prices are reasonable, and the ambiance is inviting. Good food... Good service... Good location... what more could you want?"

"Overall experience was great, however, I don't understand why reservations where needed. Since I had reservations and the restaurant was not crowded, a little peeved that our group was sat next to a screamy toddler. Other than that, it was nice and the service was excellent."

"Great brunch food (biscuits and gravy, brisket stack, chicken and waffles - all yummy). Our server and the other folks took great care of us. The only thing I didn't like are the crazy red leather octopus chairs. Maybe I'm too short but I could not figure out how to get comfortable. Regardless, we'll be back and will request a booth."

"I've heard great things from reviews, so my expectations were set high. The ambiance was very nice, classy. Our waitress was awesome, she was great at describing the food that she loved. We started with the pork potstickers- which were extremely good, and surprisingly filling. I could see how someone would be able to come here for happy hour and fill up on the appetizers alone. They were unique, as they were covered in fresh vegetables and a kind of sauce and seasoning. Next my friend ordered the gnocchi, and I the chicken and dumplings. My dumplings were very good, they oozed out mashed potatoes. The chicken tender. My friend was disappointed with her gnocchi, the sauce was good but wasn't very present so much of her gnocchi was dry."

"Benjy's is great for brunch, happy hour and dinner. (I've never been for lunch) They have a great brunch menu and are always having different specials. I love their happy hour menu. Very great prices for food and martinis. I do recommend making reservations for brunch so you don't have to wait and especially if you're going in a party greater than 4 people."

"love the food. Really dislike the decor. Feel like it is a bad 1970's style. The curtains are depressing. Usually has better bread or pickles on the table. Not sure about the seasoned popcorn they had on Saturday night. Food makes up for the decor."
